Oh wow,That's exactly what I learned how to make oxtail soup from my mom when I lived in Korea! I made oxtail soup for my husband many times and he says that's his favorite korean soup now. Maangchi I cook my oxtail soup with ginger and it makes the soup more milky . I went to H-Mart to buy meats because I like the way they pack the meat which is clean and they remove the fats of the oxtails. I made Korean ribs and bulgogi for Christmas

@@WinniesJournal yes. Her recipe in the Caribbean would be considered souse. The oxtail soup though southern style would have much more veggies, (carrots, onions, celery, green peppers) & potatoes. And the liquid would be much more thick. The Caribbean style soup would have the same as the abovementioned, but would include yams & squash. They both would be much more hearty. But again, to each his/her own. I'm aware we all cook differently in each part of this huge world. ☺
I only know and love the german oxtail soup that is very thick and dark. My grandma taught me how to cook it. But oxtail in general is so yummy. I want to try the korean one next. And after that i guess i will have to find southern and Caribbean recipes too. :D

I love oxtails and I just made some they were so delicious- down to the gelatinous fat on the bones 😋thank you for sharing your recipe I’m definitely going to try yours.
Love your videos and more your friendly personality. And if you don't want to wait too long, you can also use a paper kitchen towel and just "sweep" away the fat on top of sauces/soups, and so on. It will absorb most of it without taking too much of the liquid you want to keep.

Love your videos and more your friendly personality. And if you don't want to wait too long, you can also use a paper kitchen towel and just "sweep" away the fat on top of sauces/soups, and so on. It will absorb most of it without taking too much of the liquid you want to keep.
