I've been a quad lock user for somewhere around 10 years. Every time I get a new phone I get a quad lock case. The price of the accessories isn't bad when you consider that my windshield mount is about 6 years old and used almost every single day. Each of my bicycles has a mount on it also. So far not one problem or broken phone. I'm sure there are better cases, but not if you're a cyclist and like don't like keeping your phone in your pocket.

hi, I'm a cyclist too, I'm thinking to get the quadlock stem mount. But it gets tied to the bike with zip ties or those slim rubber bands which will get destroyed by the the elements. Which bicycle mount do you use? it seems like the handlebar mount for bicycle will last longer.

@@mikemazzantini6397 Hi, thanks for replying. I'm in midst of getting a quadlock phone along with a bracket for my bicycle and one for my motorcycle. I have read in the quadlock reviews that the stem mount tend to have the phone rotate by itself. Does this happen to you? If I were to use the out front mount PRO, will it work if I tilt the bracket upward? I have a handlebar bag right in the middle front of my handlebar, so I can only install the pro mount on the side facing up.
My english isn't the best, I hope it's clear enough. Thank you.

@@bad689 I wish I could attach pictures. On my mountain bike, I have the out front mount reversed so instead of being in front of the handlebars, it's behind the handlebars and right above the stem. I haven't has any issues with anything rotating. On the non clamp version I used the o-rings and cable ties and it doesn't move at all regardless of terrain.

Yeah I totally agree, I been using them for 9 years, what I found they were highlighting was price and protection factor of the case. But the price is an issue if you want more and more accessories which is only natural. I don't think it's perfect but more than good and practical enough to warrant day to day use especially if you motor/cycle. I think if you fit into this category then it is a no brainer. The advent of mag chargers is a game changer for me as is the car vent mount. The new MAG QL system is thicker and adds considerable heft to an everyday carry item, I wished they trimmed down the areas away from the Mag area, like in the original and in general just thinned it out.

I've been using QuadLock for years on all my motorcycles & scooters. They are flawless. They are secure. Their customer service is spot on. I've have had ZERO problems. I do not have all the little extra gadgets...I don't need them. If I am going to spend a grand on a phone, I don't mind spending a little to mount it and protect it. And BTW, their poncho cover works perfect when getting caught in an unexpected downpour. I guess it all depends on what your needs and expectations are.

Personally I find quadlock the most fuss free case I’ve ever used. As a commuting cyclist, this is best and fuss free mount for an iPhone and while I agree it can be a bit steep, I like the fact that it’s secure and simple. A lot of the extra ‘accessories’ they promote are pretty over the top but not much more pointless than some of the other pointless accessories made by Apple themselves. To each one’s own I suppose, Quadlock worked for me and that’s all that counts.
Still, can’t help but feel you guys made a video just to remind us that you’re a reviewer and not an influencer (not like we needed reminding).

I enjoyed this! I had no idea people were buying quadlock cases while not planning on using it heavily with bikes. That makes little sense. as you mentioned it’s only really amazing at that one main thing. Being easily mounted strongly. Which is where the other problems of use arise from. I still don’t know of a better, easier to use mounting system for riding. And I’ll be damned if I’m switching my phone case once I hop off my motorcycle. Sad day. ✌🏼

I use the quad lock exclusively for riding my bicycle. It's my main mode of transportation, and you really have to commit to it. I used to love the Book Book wallet case, but switching cases is so annoying, so I committed to the quad lock. I got the 13 pro and am wondering if I should just ditch the quad lock and get a book book again with another bike mounting system. I will say the quad lock is the best bicycle riding mount, but only useful if your using a bike everyday to get around.

Don’t let this review put you off. If you want a mounting system that won’t drop your phone and a mount that stays where you set it then quad lock is for you. Yes, the company seems to have lost its way recently with all the extra and often painfully crap accessories, but the base system works really well, the case is excellent and simple unlike a lot of multi part cases costing twice as much, and the basic mounting systems provides a great solution especially when travelling over rough terrain.

Greetings from Australia. Thanks for the review. Quad lock is not for every one. I have a courier business, and 2 business phones, one for the car and one for my scooter. Their mounts and cases can take abuses and holding up well against engine vibrations. So for me, quad lock range of products are the best, specially, their scooter mounts and wireless chargers. Yes they are expensive, yes they look ugly, but like I said these are not for everyone. General consumer do have better options when it comes to cases and mounts, but for us (specific users) we only have few..and I found quad lock is the best for outdoor set up or activities.
You guys compare those products based on average consumer. Would be great if you compare the product using off-road motor cycle or bike or off road 4WD. Then u would know how secure they are..!!!
    Thanks

Thoughts from a quad lock owner:
    1) it’s fantastic for motorcycle riders, access to maps while riding, with a clutter free mount is great.
    2) why would anyone get it if they didn’t ride a motorbike?
    3) yeah, it’s bloody overpriced, only reason I got it was because I had a gift card
    4) the ring isn’t so bad, any orientation is fine to hold in the hand, it makes the phone easier to hold
    5) in fact the ring is great, clicking it in and out and spinning it around is great for fiddlers, and it has the functionality of a stand. It’s a very satisfying click too. I actually wouldn’t have it without it and I think it’s worth the (overpriced) $15-20
    6) the material is not that slippery, i haven’t dropped it once, and if you’re buying it for how pretty it is, your head is on backwards
    7) you don’t need a wireless charger for it. New iPhones these days have amazing battery life, you could use maps all day and still have battery left at the end of the day
I’d happily recommend it to anyone with a set of handlebars in front of them. Great quality hardware.
Also sunglasses through a whole review? Just makes your reviews a bit “shady”

I’ve been using a Quad Lock set up for years. Nothing Including your Magnetic holder will hold a phone as secure as the Quad Lock system. As for the finger loop (Something I don’t use) maybe you need to get stronger… if you can’t hold a phone without some sort of system to help you hold onto it maybe you need stronger fingers & hands. Yes I have dropped my phone from time to time (we all do)
To attach the Phone to any of the mounts isn’t difficult as long as you have a little coordination. I Mount and Dismount it many times during the day with no extra effort or even looking at it. Its a coordination thing… nothing to do with it being a difficult action. The Weather Poncho isn’t for everyone.. not everyone needs that sort of Protection. If your an outdoors enthusiast who Bikes, Rides Motorcycles etc then the Rain Poncho is a Great accessory to Add to your Quad Lock System, since it will Absolutely Weather Proof your Phone.. Protecting it from any Sudden Change in the weather Like a Summer Thunderstorm with a Heavy Downpour of Rain.. Or Wet Snow during the Winter months. It will even Protect your phone if you happen to take a crash in your bike and end up in a Creek etc. I don’t feel getting into that type of situation is something Either of you need to worry about.
Your comparing a “System” for protecting and Mounting your phone to Phone Cases alone.. Apples to Oranges!! The Quad Lock System isn’t for everyone.. For the people who are Active Cyclists Or Motorcyclists it is a Great investment. You have to get every accessory Quad Lock makes… just the ones that will suit your particular needs. I’m not an Influencer, Blogger, TH-camr etc… just a guy who uses The Quad Lock System in a Few different ways, in my Work Truck, My Motorcycle and My Personal vehicle. It works Great and has never let me down or given me any reason to not be happy with it. Next time find a Single Company that can offer a System (for the people who need such a setup) and Compare that to Quad Lock. I could make a video on any product and go on and on about how it doesn’t work for me… But I wouldn’t waste peoples time with that. Just like the time I wasted watching this video. You showed no real life activities where Quad Lock Failed in the ways you talked about.. as far as dropping the phone, don’t blame a case because you can’t hold onto the phone. Remember do Apples to Apples & Oranges to Oranges. For what it’s designed for Nothing Compares to a Quad Lock System.

Apple does the same thing with their accessories. It’s how companies make their money. As a consumer we have to make the best informed decision at the end of the day. I ride my motorcycle and Somedays I ride my hybrid. I can tell you from my personal experience, the quad lock beats all the rest. Nothing comes close in terms of reliability and keeping your device safe.. I believe they offer a wide range of accessories to fit all kinds of consumers. It’s up to us to make the right judgment call on which accessories we truly need. The case itself is well built, sleek, offers great protection. Do I agree with the price? No. But you have to pay to play.

Quad lock main purpose is to securely mount your phone either to bike or motorcycle and for that use its doing excellent job, compared to other similar products it has most cleanest look, ,so i don't find your review realistic, you never reviewed its main purpose. Going through all other side uses and not through its main purpose is too me not serious review, yeah its a bit expensive but when you drive your motorcycle 100+ km/h its keeping it safe, what would you like more to sipend 1000+ usd for new mobile phone or 70 usd for secure mount?? Yes its case is not elegant or will not offer much drop protection but its not its purpose, its purpose is to hold mobile phone securely strapped for motorcycle, i myself have another case which i use when i am not on motorcycle.

I think this review comes from context of NOT being a motorcycle rider. Quad Lock influencers have been spouting it's other uses for the general consumer. I, too, am a motorcycle rider and that's what brought me here. However, not everyone is. Some came because they wanted it as a general purpose car, workout, desk type locking case. The reviewers themselves stated that If what you use it for is for motorcycle riding, then it's a good option.
But, you yourself have just said that in order to enjoy this case, you have to strap on the Quad Lock case every time you want to take it on the motorcycle, I think I would end up doing that too. So, why wouldn't i just get the tried and true RAM mount? I can use ANY case, it's been 100% secure for me and countless others.

I personally dont like the look of xmount, when you remove phone with quad lock there is only small holder, when you remove phone from x-mount you know how it looks like, and my opinion is that its securing system is bit flimsy i repeat its my opinion....its all in the end to personal choice, but you must agree that quad lock has more clean looks

If you use your phone as a bike computer... Then the bike mount is awesome. Oh and so is the weather poncho in that instance. Mountain biking is nice when there's converging trails... To know which way to go... Mud and rain, gunna say the weather poncho is very handy there.
I've had mag phone mounts drop a phone over a pothole and slide down near the gas pedal. Also hard braking for a deer had the phone slide off mag.
I don't understand the desk mount tbh. I share your criticism there. If I was at my desk all day then maybe... Or using my phone as a bedside alarm? Still... That's a stretch.
I use the universal mount however... And just adhear it to my fav case. It can get pricey though with the universal posts so I just 3D print my own universal posts and have them all over my house. Have one on the kitchen cupboard while I'm cooking... The treadmill when I'm running... Next to the shower on the wall... In the garage next to the workbench... But I wouldn't have those if I didn't 3D print them.

Quad Lock cases are #1 for mounting on bicycles, (road & MB) Motorcycles. It serves its purpose 100%. It’s easy to install & remove on handles with one hand operation. The flaw that I see is it’s not MagSafe compatible which is a big disappointment. Maybe Quad Lock will pay attention to customers & implement magnets in their cases. That will surely bring up sales. Thank you for your videos.

I wouldn’t really call it honestly, it’s kinda like they’re trying too hard to be “honest” and have a different opinion.
He made a confused face talking about the weather poncho to put on ur phone, in my opinion trying to imply that it’s stupid… when it’s literally meant for MOTORCYCLES and BICYCLES. Like bro what
He even said somewhere in the middle over the video “when we make fun of these products” it’s pretty clear theyre not level headed and telling the truth, they’re just picking out minor things and acting like it makes the product bad so their “review” stands out.
Talking about the cases won’t look the same after they’ve been used.
Is that not common sense? Like any other thing in this world that’s had some use, it will not look the same… then talking about how there’s no point buying multiple accessories because U might not use all of them… like? Who in this world is buying something they won’t use… obviously people are gonna buy the thing they’re gonna use.
Such a joke of a review.
Then they say the metal of the ring on the back to hold ur phone digs into their finger. Then don’t use it? Not hard to hold a phone, the case is not slippery at all if u hold ur phone properly.

Been using one a motorcycle and inside my off-road truck for years, the quad lock system has been the most secure and most minimal mount setup out there. Hating on the company for selling accessories that offer you some different functionality seems a little petty when the core functionality of their product is great.

Ditto. I have an Iphone 12, and did a lot of searching to find a motorcycle mount that wouldn't destroy the auto-stabilizing cameras. It lets me use my phone as the GPS unit I typically use it for in my car, and buying one extra accessory (car mount) lets me dual-use the case.

I can't imagine getting into Quad Lock unless the primary use was a bicycle or motorbike. I've been using a cheap spare Android phone with a quad lock universal adaptor for a few years on my bicycle and the quad lock belt clip when hiking (attached to my shoulder strap). But I've just bought an iPhone 11 quad lock case so that I can take my primary phone hiking and bike packing.

I dropped my quad lock iPhone while driving a motorcycle in northern Canada @ 70 mph. Another car stopped me to tell me that I dropped it out of my pocket. I drove back a few miles and found it with nothing more than a small scuff on the corner. So in my opinion it is a tough product. I’m a big fan.

  • @integraloutdoors

I just got these and think they are great. Biggest two issues, the ring I agree with this video is pretty dumb. I got it just to try it but can't see myself using it. Second issue is price, but honestly after using magnetic mounts and other cradles I don't regret the purchase. It took a couple days of knowing what kind of pressure to push down on it while spinning but it's easy now and rock solid. In my truck I have ram mount balls already bolted to the dash so the ram mount quad lock works so well. The fact that I can go from my truck to my bike to wireless charging without removing the case makes this the best option out there for me right now.
Edit: I am open to other options tho I like testing products. Can anyone suggest a cheaper as good or better option that can go between car and bike and wireless charge without swapping cases or anything? Rokform doesn't support wireless charging and is much more.

Using my quadlock case since i had my samsung note 10 plus (2years ago). i do have the motorcycle mount and the car mount. Been very useful to me as Ive always used waze in the car then I do hop on to my scooter often as well. Dropped it several times, maybe like 4 1/2 feet the highest and never had any damages on my phone. I guess this case is best for 2 wheel/motorcycle riders. Its my 2nd year with my mobile plan and im offered to get a new phone. Decided to get the iPhone 13 pro max this month. Funny how I chose the phone because quadlock has a case for it. Was supposed to get a Samsung Fold 3 but quadlock did make one for that phone. So basically, this is the case that i really do need. Lastly, what i do agree with you is with most of the other accesories that quadlock offers are useless. I think quadlock should just stick with the bike/motorcycle mounts and the car windshield mount. They just try to "innovate" accessories just to not keep their product line look boring.

I bought mine for long motorcycle trips. They had a promo at the time that if you spent so much money, you got a free USB charger accessory, Which I don't even use because it takes the spot for the vibration dampener. It was like $200 after I got all the accessories. The water poncho is great and the mounting system is glove friendly. You said the vibration dampener was for photo stabilization at 4:55. It's definitely not for that, it's so a mountain bike or motorcycle doesn't shake your phone to death. For riding, it is the proper choice. It's the most secure for when you're doing 120 Km/h down the highway and don't want your phone sliding down the road and the mount looks very clean when not in use. So, your review is probably accurate for normal use, but it certainly isn't as bad as you make it sound.

Would be to compare the QuadLock to other options for motorcycle (heavy twin cylinders vibration engins, raining & dust environment). I get it that it cost but I don’t know of any other product that offers a so integrated option for motorcycles. Sadly as motorcyclist we are kinda of use to buy overpriced items to get quality products that last harsh weathers

I don't know man, The way u said just go buy this magbak magnetic holder seemed sponsored since after watching a review on it it does seem to have alot of draw backs. The sticky strip on the magnet will require u to clean the dash with a alcohol wipe which can lead to permanent damage to the surface of ur dash.
The magnetic strip has to be mounted to a vertical surface which mean u are going to be covering something on ur dash and because it has to be mounted to a vertical surface for the magnet to hold the phone properly the phone is not with in ur line of sight.
Hot summers in Australia will more then likely loosen the sticky pad on the magnet as well.
The back of ur phone is a consistent magnet so u are going to have stuff always getting stuck to it whether u like it or not. Sooo yer not really worth the money.

I have a quad lock set up on my iPhone 12 Pro. The added weight is noticeable esp with thumb ring. I usually hold my phone on vertical so the thumb right is horizontal hence no issue with it. I agree with slippery case but somehow my hand sweat made it grippier and not slippery overtime😂. I still have my old quad lock case fitted on my iPhone 6s Plus since new its still in one piece. I found that the new locking mechanism is tighter than the old one. It does get annoying and hard I fit on my bike.

I find it weird that these reviewers kind of skipped over QuadLock's core usage - mounting the phone to the handlebars of a bike - and instead spent most of the video talking about the little phone loop ring thingo. Sure, the ring seems dumb and unnecessary, but why skip over the whole bike mounting thing?! That's what these cases are for! Sure, if you are uninterested in mounting your phone to your bike there are better cases, but you've ignored the entire reason for Quadlock's existence!

The first time I noticed a quad lock in a bike shop in Australia a few years back, the shop suggested indirectly not to buy it because it is expensive. However, I bought it this year, in the USA because others were not going well on my recumbent tricycle. once in a place, it stays there. If you don't want to spend more, I would suggest buying a stroller mount. you can mount this stuff anywhere. on the bike, in the car, and at home. just wrap it up. If you use a universal mount, it would work as good as others and you would have the freedom to use the case of your choice.

Just came upon you both for the first time. I’ve had QuadLock on a couple phones now and I agree with almost everything you say (though my two cases haven’t gotten scuffed up or scratched, both have stayed pristine with a lot of use). But so many of your other observations are spot-on, and you were fair about pointing out the stuff that QL does excel in.
What they *really* excel in, as you astutely illustrate, is **marketing**. All of their products other than the case itself are obscenely overpriced. But like so many businesses that are peripheral to Apple, they can almost charge what they want.
If I were to start again, I’d look around a little bit more and see what the alternatives are. But because I’m a biker and a bicyclist, I might have just ended up with QL anyway.
That finger ring sure does have a frustrating design. Keep on reasonably ranting!

i use a lot of quadlock things: 2 bike mounts which is what brought me to them at first and i use that daily, car mount, tripod mount, pram mount thingie, belt clip which i used on a shoulder strap on my bag...so i am very deep into their eco system, and i agree they do sell a lot of useless stuff . But i used quadlock...for over 6 years now, and never ever ever had phone come off the mount. Do you need that on your desk? no! it's for outdoors!
