John is also very intense like JRM and has also had to recover from very heavy drinking, it's strange how someone identical in looks has a similar character and suffered from the same addiction.

I'd always taught Jonathan looks obnoxious, but once you watch him speak you change your mind very quickly. He is down-to-earth and apparently not concerned about not sounding macho, which is a plus. I`m pleasantly surprised with his accent. I didn't know he sounded so Dubliner. :) Watch The Tudors, people!

Rhys Meyers is one of the few actors I empathize with. In his mind he's craving a drink in a pub as he's doing this interview.
The tension in this interview is on another level. 6:22 though this is where he fucked up. This is why you never take the bait even when you're as beautiful a specimen as he is.

Match point was a great movie but honestly after watching the Tudors I absolutely fell I love with Jonathan I was completely blown away. If you have not watched that series it’s a must. Incredible actor ❤

Scarlett leaves alot to be desired as an actress while Jonathan absolutely soars in the film. He is tremendous in the role and as reprehensible as his character could have become,he manages to reveal enough vulnerability throughout the film that we almost find ourselves rooting for him. One of the most layered performances I've seen in a decade. Also,a triumph for Woody who writes a script that just won't quit.

What an odd thing to say, that it's difficult to separate your feelings when you're doing a love scene or sex scene. I've never heard an actor describe it as an issue like that. --Nice, the way he assumes that anything not involved with film is 'menial'. What a charmer. --He sounds so... ordinary.
+Jack Carter You're the one making assumptions about his menial work reply. He was kicked out of school as young as 14 (I've read anywhere from 14-16). He grew up in crushing poverty and before getting into acting, cleaned tables at a pool hall and worked as a farmhand. If he hadn't gotten into acting, he likely would have ended doing menial work. So he's not making a general assumption about all non-film related work as menial. He was speaking from his experience. He has said he respects people who work---any type of work because he grew up in 80's Ireland where jobs were scarce. He got into acting simply because it was employment. He just wanted job and anything would have been a step up. It just so happened acting came along and worked out for him.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers "Doppleganger" (look alike) lives across the street from me here in the U.S.. He is also 5'9". The resemblance is strikingly identical. The only major difference? he's 20 yrs younger (16 yrs old, same age when Ryes was first discovered) and just a tad heavier looking in the face. He even has the same personality characteristics/habits as if twin brothers, just born at different times. I shit you not!
Picture, please! :) Interestingly enough a friend from the south of Brazil, where there is a strong European influence, genetically speaking, I mean, said that she has an old flame who looks a lot like Jonathan too.
