So happy this channel came into my feed 🧡🖤🧡
Don't apologize for telling these things. If I didn't want to listen, i wouldn't.
So glad that I found your channel!
Haha! Aww. So glad you found my channel too!
A favorite poem from Edgar Allen Poe is " Alone "
Your voice is so soothing 🥲
Thank you! I really appreciate that :)
Lovely. You have a good style in storytelling! Your voice sucked me right into the story. Liked the respectful way you treated the subject as well. 😊
Thank you for saying so. I think what draws me to this era is that respect for the dead was a whole part of the culture. This is important to me. I want to be sure I'm giving the same respect.
Ayuh; we are WAY overdue for a decent biopic about Poe (I would take an even slightly-exaggerated one, at this point....) Glad that I happened upon this video!
Right?! Same! A proper biopic is WAY overdue!
It's "Allan."
It is indeed! Thank you! I changed it ;)
Bombazine is a fabric, not a style of jacket. The style you describe sounds like a frock coat; I'll research it more when i have time.

Ahh! Thank you for that correction! When I was trying to understand exactly what kind of coat the doctor was describing, from what I researched, it appeared as tho there were specific styles of coats that this fabric would be used for - but perhaps he was indeed just simply describing the fabric itself. Thanks again!
@@myvictoriannightmare You're very welcome. My sister did a little additional research, and the coat Poe was found in is described as "a sack coat made of a cheap and sleazy alpaca," which adds a new wrinkle. 😅😅
@@antipatsy Ooo! Does she know the source? I could only find quotes from his friend Joseph Snodgrass and the doctor.
I know the term bombazine from use in local dress here. Just finished a vest made of bombazine (also called "pilo"). It is a heavy duty fabric, made of cotton/linen, and a roughened surface (a bit like flannel). Usually black. It has the heaviness of sturdy denim. So it is quite a low-class fabric.
@@myvictoriannightmare lol the Google!
