      I have been following you for a couple of years and would be happy if you can respond to this question: Can you apply Carpro Gliss as a final coat on top of Adams Advanced Graphene coating? I asked same question on one of your videos a couple of weeks ago and you didn’t reply.

    The first thing that drew me to Gyeon coatings is the "outdoor friendly" composition that allows a 12-hour cure time. Being I don't have garage access, this is an important factor for me. I've applied Gyeon Mohs to several cars including my own and I love the results.

    Applied Syncro this past weekend outside, in less that favorable conditions (Florida). It was three or four degrees warmer than they suggest, but I was under a canopy, so no direct sunlight, and I started early. I was probably at the absolute limit in terms of temp and humidity, but it came out great. It was easy to apply, flashed, or should I say sweated super fast so I had to be ready to level instantly, but the results were fantastic. The car looks amazing. I was a Carpro guy, but lately I'm quickly becoming a Gyeon guy. They are absolutely killing it lately.

    One time I needed to call gyeon because my car got wet a couple days after coating it, so I looked on their website to try to find a phone number to call customer service. I couldn’t find a number but I found a number online on a different website (one of those sketchy phone number lookup sites) and called it. it was this Jeff guy that answered. He said I “called the right company but I had the wrong phone number.” I guess it was his *cell phone* number, but he took the time to talk to me for about 20 minutes about the coatings. That right there is why I’ll be at Gyeon customer for life.

    Fantastic info and great description on each product! I use a different brand but each brand has their similar "levels" of coatings that this info can basically be applied. I'm sure I'm not the only one out there that says "I can't afford to stock my shop with all these options." I like to give my clients options based on their needs and budgets but I'm not quite at a profit-point where I can afford to keep the whole product line in stock to take care of these needs. Until that changes I'm kind of stuck with offering two options. I'm sure that will change as my business grows though.

    Pan, I prefer the high gloss ceramic coating appearance - How does PURE compare to Carpro SIC in terms of durability, slickness, ease of use, and longevity given you do the normal required maintenance of your coating? What does ONE and PURE compare shoulder to shoulder with Carpro DYI coatings, not including the professional or finest line? For example, does ONE compare to CQuartz UK 3.0? and does PURE compare to Carpro SIC?

    I have a new 2023 Nissan Rogue Platinum Gun Metallic and the dealer put 3M PPF on the full front end (looks great) but kinda screwed up on things by putting on a Paint Sealant and not the Ceramic Coating I asked for for the rest of the car. This Sealant is a once application with 72 month warranty and not yearly re-applied unless needing to. The material is by the company First Canadian Products (under First Canadian Financial Group that does all car care stuff with detailers and car dealerships that get into business with them). Any ideas for ease of cleaning and hydrophobic effect coating to put over the sealant on the paint? I bought 303 Graphene Nano Spray and this can go over it and have Gyeon Wet Coat both just purchased yesterday. Unless someone has a good idea to suggest. Thanks.

    I have always wondered why most use a short nap towel to do the first wipe end a second wipe with a long pile nap microfiber. Is this needed or can you just wipe with a short nap towel. Because I would throw away the towels (glass scratching) and long pile naps are much more expensive (so trying to reduce my cost a bit). I would be using Evo cancoat, heard a lot of good things about this and just whip away with a short nap towel. It could be that it is just personal preference to use the 2 towels.

      @@ShineAndPreserveDetailing after an overnight initial cure.. i would have a hard time believing that brand new clean distilled water would do anything to compromise a small part of fender or hood that's been coated recently.. • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You need to respect the instructions of the coatings you are applying. Most coatings require 12 to 24 hours of curing without exposure to water or rain. That is crucial.
      There are now some coatings with no curing or 1 hour of curing available on the market, so perhaps that would better suit you when needed.

      You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing.
      A new car is never new until it's properly detailed.
      - at the factory, the paint defects are often corrected quickly by rotary polishing which can leave marks and holograms, so polishing corrects those, before you lock that in long term with a ceramic coating for example.
      - vehicles are then transported by truck, train and boat so they are exposed to the elements, industrial fallout, brake dust, rail dust, etc
      - vehicles are often left at boat docks (when transported by boat) or in exterior parking lots for weeks or months, again being exposed to the elements
      - at the dealership, the vehicles are almost always poorly prepped using the same dirty water that was used for all the cars on a given day, and poor washing and drying methods leading to swirls and scratches
      - at the dealership, a layer of cheap wax or paint sealant is usually applied to attempt to make the paint glossy prior to delivery. It's crucial to remove any previous protection before you apply a ceramic coating, as coatings need to bond directly to a virgin clear coat.
      If you only plan on applying a regular carnauba wax or paint sealant though, you could decide to skip machine polishing, as those protectants can be applied over existing protection and it's not as crucial to prep the paint as well.
      I explain all of this in this popular video: th-cam.com/video/QgoyrC-5CMc/w-d-xo.html
      So you can better visualize the new car prep process, here are the steps I perform on a brand new car for my customers:

    This may be sacrilegious, but last May I applied two coats of Carpro CQUK 3.0 to my pickup. CQUK 3.0 has held up amazingly thru 4 Pennsylvania seasons. Several weeks ago after a full decon wash I applied a single layer of Gyeon Can Coat Evo on top the year old CQUK 3.0. Wow does it have a deep candy shell look to it! Hopefully those two play well together.

      Of course. CanCoat EVO is rated at 10-12 months of durability.
      WetCoat is different. It lasts 1-3 months, but its main use is as maintenance topper and also it’s super quick to apply. Spray on, rinse off.

    I'm having trouble deciding between CSL+ExoV5 or Syncro. My car is always outside most of the time in direct sun and I spend around 25,000 on the highway every year. I might have about 2 hours of shade or indirect sun to get the coating on.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer ปีที่แล้ว

      Both are top tier coatings, so you can't go wrong regardless of your choice. CSL with Exo is a 3-5 year coating. And Syncro is a 3 year coating (if you use 1 layer of Mohs and 1 layer of Skin) or 4 year coating (if you use 2 layers of Mohs, and 1 layer of Skin).
      Syncro EVO is perhaps a bit more forgiving if you have to work outside. But for both, I would definitely recommend not working in direct sunlight on hot surfaces. Work in the shade, on a cool surface for the best user experience. Your best bet is to wait until the very latest in the afternoon. June and July are months where the sun usually sets very late.

It’s a 2022 Nissan, Gun Metal Gray and I’m on the fence between Can Coat or Q2 Wax as a base coat. I’m looking for gloss, slickness, beading, and sheeting. • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      CanCoat EVO without a doubt has much longer durability. They are fairly equal for gloss, CanCoat has more slickness, and both have exceptional hydrophobics, the Wax having a slight edge on that.
      Only one layer is needed for each, no need to double up. For maintenance, you can use one of many options:
      1) Bathe+ (a shampoo infused with SiO2)
      2) Ceramic Detailer (as a drying aid, or QD)
      3) WetCoat (as a spray-on rinse off sealant)

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. One way is to ask the previous owner if anything was done to protect the paint. Or ask the place where you bought it. Another way to know is if you wash the car, and rinse it, if it has insane water beading and sheets water quickly, and it seems to resist multiple washes, it's a sign that there's probably a ceramic coating. If the paint feels slick and seems glossy, it's another visual indicator that there might be some protection on there.
      However, if you plan on applying a new coating, you would have to strip everything off and prep the paint well before applying your coating. As there might also be a cheap wax on the paint that the dealership applied (they all usually some garbage product before delivery just so it looks shiny for the new buyer). And you don't want ANY protection on the paint before applying a new coating.
      To give you an idea of how it's done, see a video I made showing a subscriber how to apply Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light with EXO on top, in this video: th-cam.com/video/E_ck-Hn1AvE/w-d-xo.html
      Paint prep and application are CRUCIAL when applying a long lasting ceramic coating, as you want it to bond properly to a virgin clear coat.

      Yes, but ideally, you'd use a PPF specific coating like Gyeon PPF coating on that.

    So your 2022 winner is Carpro CQUK 3.0. What are your thoughts on this product? I am looking at Mohs EVO. I have used Carpro CQUK 3.0. Will you be doing a comparison video?

      CQuartz UK 3.0 was my favourite consumer grade coating for many years indeed. Great coating. The only thing is that more and more, other brands are releasing consumer grade coatings that can last 3+ years. Case in point, Mohs EVO which can last 3 years (1 layer) or 4 years (2 layers). So we'll see if the 2023 awards change.
      I hope that CarPro will release a CQUK version 4.0 with more durability, as the competition is serious. One thing is for sure, Mohs EVO is very slick to the touch and has great hydrophobics. It's so simple to apply. And it's a good upgrade over the previous Mohs. I had tested the CQUK with the previous Mohs and 18 other paint protectants in a real world durability test in this video: th-cam.com/video/MoBTLpRFFw4/w-d-xo.html

    What is best for a metallic pearl white paint, Mohs, or Synchro? I've heard straight Mohs is the way to go. Your opinion?

      Very few people would be able to tell the visual difference. You can’t go wrong regardless of choice.

    Can you do a layer of pure for gloss and Mohs for added durability?

      You would have to ask Gyeon that question. I don't have the answer to that unfortunately.

    Once these coatings are worn off, do you need to use chemical and mechanical decon before reapplying?

    • @PanTheOrganizer

      Yes. You need to redo all the steps including machine polishing to ensure you remove 100% of the previous coating so the new one can bond properly to a virgin clear coat.
