Solitaire Matt Mercer is so good that he somehow got me to laugh about something Overwatch related. He likes to play as the character he voices and yell the line for his special (“it’s high noon” or something) into his mic and watch his teammates panic.
You can hear Azura faintly start to sing, as if urging Shigure on. And then right at the end before the song goes to loop, they do a full blown duet where both voices are loud and clear -- just like they always dreamed. All of my feels.
+Tarian I think he's generalizing the two classes who uses bows, but he could be referring to the class, so I'm kinda torn between the two ideas i just stated.
@Dominotik Ivan Tulovskiy In-Universe, Lost in Thoughts All Alone was written by Anankos with magical properties that would contain his madness when sung using a piece of his dragonstone. (That piece is the contained in the pendant that falls in the "press start" screen of the game.) That magic is the in-universe reason why Azura singing refreshes your action (and why Laslow's dance and Shigure's singing don't, Azura has the pendant), but it takes a toll on the singer's lifeforce when used at higher potential. That's the reason why at the end of Conquest and Birthright Azura dissapear in fumes, she used the song at the highest power she could to weaken Garon/Takumi (don't ask me why she didn't also die when she does the same in Revelation against Anankos). The 4th verse of the song, the one from the Heirs of Fate DLC, is a secret forbidden verse even Azura didn't know about in the main campaign. She only learns it when dead and teaches it to her son Shigure as a ghost during the DLC. It is stated to be so powerful it could defeat Anankos single-handedly, but only Cadros the first king of Valla and Shigure (who's stated to be very similar to the former, so much that Anankos confuse Shigure for him) could even use it.
She doesn’t die in revelation because she doesn’t use the song as much as in the two main paths, in rev she uses it twice (including the final boss fight). Birthright 5 times, Conquest 4.
@@gallalameblook9911 she knew the fourth verse before her death, but wasn’t powerful enough to sing it to stop Anakos. In the dlc she says how she used it to save Shigure before disappearing.
@iytdominotikalso Is said that after singing the song, the person will use all their life force and die. And for some reason, their soul will suffer for eternity
Just remember everybody This is the same voice as Lao from Xenoblade Chronicles X, Chrom from Fire Emblem Awakening, Ryoma from Fire Emblem Fates, McCree from Overwatch AND Jotaro from the 3 Jojo part 3 episodes that were actually dubbed
This is the voice that gave us: "Anything can change!" "You have breathed your last!" and "Because of you, there's only 20 million of us left. That leaves me approximately 9.98 billion reasons for me to want you dead!" and so much more. God, I love Matt Mercer.

I think they intentionally made the instruments sound louder on the map but when you're actually in the battles, the vocals are louder. That might just be me though.
When the Kanas you play as for like 3-4 chapters per each one are better protagonists than their respective progenitors. I mean they are simple in terms of motivation (save parents) while they retain their parents naivety it isn't obnoxious and as time goes on they become pretty solid due to not just letting things happen. I think one of my least favorite things about Corrin is they just go along for the ride and aren't very proactive. But Kana due to those DLC chapters is one of those diamond in the rough characters. I think they represent the potential Corrin had as a character, which is kind of sad but I'm happy that Kana got some development other than daddy/mommy is cool let's copy them. DLC Kana is literally the embodiment of the sins of the father (as this is the possible future for both Birthright and Conquest). Do they deserve to be held responsible for Corrins' sins? No. Do they deserve the future they desire? Yes.

TONS of great memories of this game and it's DLC from college. This was my first of the new Fire Emblem games I played 100%, and grinding it with friends was so much fun.
Same here. Future past was just sending you to the future to help the children grab the gems. In Heirs of Fate, you actually experience the story from the children's point of view, you are given what they give you, they put a lot more effort and detail into the plot, and you see the royal children reuniting with their parents in the credits.
Azura gave me joyful shivers when she sang. It made me feel happy that Azuras spirit won't rest until she knows the children are OK. Mercer NAILED IT :D. I sang the japenese one with this one
Oh. Oh my. I wasn't sure if I'd like this one as much as the Japanese one, but no, Mercer hit a *grand fucking slam* with this one. I can say without hesitation that this is one of the greatest pieces of music I have ever had the pleasure to listen to.
This is just a little "What if" I thought of. What if in the DLC, you also had to fight male and female Corrin? I can see it now: They're both the last two enemies that are blocking your path from Anankos with Ganglari as their weapons. They of course, have conversations with both male and female Kana before the fight begins. Lastly, after you beat them, instead of just being silent like the other father's do, they both say "Kana..." then they die.
SPOILERS BTW but the first comment had them so why are you reading the replies?! It would be great. Probably didn't do it as they would look like default male and female Corrin (probably I don't make games I know they pull the name you named corrin so.) but seeing how each one of the children are from a different worlds, so I wouldn't see a problem with it.
That genuinely would be awesome but it’s briefly stated in the DLC that they are the only two alive. (both versions of Corrin.) I recently replayed every DLC too so it was quite incredible to re-experience everything. I noticed a couple more interesting details about the world than before. 🔥
I hate that they didn’t do this idea because the DLC perfectly set up the fact that the children we meet in this mode aren’t the ones we raised so they have no excuse for not putting a corrin in as they’ve just explained that the corrin we’re seeing isn’t our unit.
Hiers of Fate ties the endings all together. I assume Hiers of Fate Nohr and Hoshido sides are post ending of their respective sides. Meanwhile Revelations... Hiers of Fate is a bad end of Revelations. Where they failed to win the final fight. Which that Anakos tried to spread into other realms to free his alternate selves(Haha Awakening reference clever) which he attacked both universes. Shigure and Azura are from the bad end Revelation timeline and the Nohr children from the complete Conquest timeline where Avatar is canon female and Hoshido children fron the Birthright completed timeline which the Avatar is canon male. Which Hiers of Fate ends up back in a different Revelation timeline where all the children are together even the Kana's. All together the game is great, Revelations can't be redeemed without Hiers of Fate though. Revelations had some unique maps (like the doors map, haha get trolled 1 hp for whole army and an ambush) The child characters feel alot more fleshed out in Fates compared to Awakening as well where all the children can be described as "[ insert character trait] Hi Mom/Chrom! Im here! Hug me :D"
So I hear this song and I'm like sweet! but I haven't played Lost in The Waves yet because I want to meet all the children first. Then I get to Shigure's B conversation with azura when she changes up 'Ocean's Grey Waves' to fit his pitch and a new harmony line.....then it hit me, I rush to find the song thinking it can't be him!? I pressed play, internally screamed, read the comments, found out Mathew voiced him, realized he sang the song, Ran into a corner, screamed and just about wet myself.
Id Purpose: Needs the Id Return intro to be completely amazing. End of All (All versions): Really freaking good. Nothing can top th- Lost in Waves: Matthew Mercer changed my opinion before the instrumental came in.
Say what you will about either game but Fire Emblem: Awakening - The Future Past 3 and Fire Emblem: Fates - Heirs of Fate End: Lost in the Waves are my most favorite chapters in all of Fire Emblem (and if it wasn't for Kingdom Hearts it would be my favorite of any game). When everything seemed lost, everyone dug in their heels and refused to give up. They stand on the very brink before their worlds fall to eternal nothingness. Every single person whether it be parents, children, people of completely separate worlds/timelines, former gods/slain gods, the spirits of those who had fallen and even those possesed/controlled are 100% willing to give their lives to create the miracle of the existence of a tomorrow. Not a single one backing down in the face of total and certain annihilation. Every single one putting their soul on the line so the next person can take even one more step towards their goal. The Fell Gods already won; The end, it's all over. For all intents and purposes, they already lost long before the DLC even started, the old generation already defeated and broken upon the might of The Fell God, but because of their bravery and unyeilding determination, they were granted overtime and one last chance to change a fate already written. A world that should be beyond hope. A struggle that far exceeds desperation. Unwavering Faith in each other to kill the last remaining God. A race to save the world even after time has ran out. Not a single person left out of the fight. Not a single person undeserving to be there. Not a single person unneeded. Each determined to not let a single person more die. They fight at the end of time so that a tomorrow can exist and a new dawn can arrive. Both of those DLC's just fill me with such indescribable emotions and is the perfect book end to their respective stories and games. Especially for Owain/Odin, Severa/Selena and Inigo/Laslow who can be said to be the single thread that links everything together. Three who bore first hand witness to the destruction of their home and family and fought on the front lines to save the world and end the Fell Dragon once and for all twice over (assuming they go with the rest of the team in Future Past 3 DLC) just to abandon their "happy ending" to prevent another world from befalling the same fate and save the children who would take the place they occupied in the last fight. They sacrificed any chance that they had to go back home so that their children could be safe, the same thing that their parents did for them as well. A sacrifice that gave their children the chance to reject a defeat already set in stone and snatch a victory right before the end. A chance given to them by last remaining consciousness of what became the Fell Dragon, Anakos, in order to help his child/children; Similarly, Robin's meddling in Grima's perception enough for Naga to plead for help from an outside source, For Grima to overlook Tiki creating the entire fucking Sacred Awakening Ground right beneath his feet and to paralyze Grima long enough to finish the Awakening Ceremony and strike the final blow. While those three may have not been the one to strike the final blow, if even a single one wasn't there then the situation would have truly been impossible. If Inigo, Owain and Severa didn't get the Fire Emblem Stones then Naga wouldn't have been able to send them into the past or do the awakening ceremony in the DLC and if Odin, Selena and Laslow didn't throw themselves back into the hell that they knew well, the Heirs of Fate would have never have had that final chance to sing this song and put Anakos down for good. Those three dedicated their entire lives to create a impossible miracle not once, not twice but a third time and all that they asked in exchange was to heal the blighted lands of their original world so that flowers could once again bloom on the graves of their parents. This feeling was sadly missing in Three Houses/Hopes and, although to a lesser degree, I felt this feeling at the end of Engage. To be fair though, Engage takes quite a bit of inspiration from both games. I mean, the mission where Lucina recruited, but before we see her, has almost the exact same feeling of a frantic scramble to run away after a cripple defeat as the mission after Em dies and the party is running through the rain absolutely heartbroken while "Don't say her name!" Accompanied it for the first half of the mission and after Lucina shows up with everyone else definitely feels like when Xander and Ryoma join you in Revelations.
Oh so that’s how he died in lucina’s future. She always said that she didn’t know exactly who the killer was so maybe its just that he ended up disappearing
Small tangent, I had this and a bunch of other FE music on my playlist for listening to during my art class in high school that I listened to every day for three months or so, so now whenever I hear this song I'm reminded of that awesome class. The things our brain does with association is pretty awesome.
I haven’t played this DLC (yet), but just thinking about how Azura never let Shigure sing alone and stayed with him until the end, even after death, makes me emotional.
i cried during this, because azura/aqua died in birthrights and i cried for an hour, so when her son sings this its like my emotions go to hell and back for thirty minutes
Shigure sounds exactly like the japanese singer is just amazing and Azura sound more enigmatic than her versions , ironic enough she is my favorite part of this , but Mercer (Shigure) keeps the level against a broadway singer and that just deserve praise itself. In a weird and "bad" localization like they did in the game ,these songs are just perfection. Props to everyone involved.

Eh, go for FE echoes. This soundtrack is good but Fates has a terrible story.
this theme is so unapologetically going hard and i love it for it
Matt Mercer nailed it.
YOOOO this is so hype! Mercer did a great job!
This as world ruler
THIS SONG MADE ME CUM
No it didn't, weeb.
+Jesse Dobson Wow okay, way to ruin my fun.
+Morgan is Best Waifu damn son. the song IS that hype though.
Imagine if they added this to the Fire Emblem Stages in Super Smash Bros. Wii U
That's what hacking is for. Did it for PM and I'm sure the community will find a way to do it here.
There is already a way to do it there
How?
Yeah, how?
Modding
Literally the best day of Fire Emblem Fates. Well done Matt Mercer
I just realized the dlc names are in the lyrics "endless dreams" and "realms collide"
All of Heirs of Fate's titles come from the fourth verse.
What is the DLC called?
In Endless Dreams, Realms Collide, Changing Tide, I forgot the fourth, Light's Sacrifice, and Lost in the Waves.
Holy shit you are right
Lost in thoughts all alone has the same thing, some of the lyrics are names of maps
Matt Mercer OP Plz Don't Nerf
I didn't know McCree could sing so beautifully
S A M E
Who else thinks that this should've came out on Shigure's birthday, which was about 2 days ago?
Aww, that would be an awesome gift!
Would've been really great for me - I have the same birthday as Shigure.
for some reason the birthdays on my copy are behind by a few days so when this came out it was shigures birthday
The date on your 3DS must be wrong then.
OMG wow yah XD
The duet. The singing in general. OH MY GOD MATTHEW MERCER DOES IT ALL!!
This was beautiful. Nice job Matthew.
When does this play???
Final boss
Peridot The Former Homeworld Clod Birhtright?
Lord Archer DLC
Which one?
I can't wait for someone to post the credits version
same here!
yh
apparently it's getting bodied by copyright.
Only way you can upload that on TH-cam is by pitching it drastically unfortunately. :/ Matt Mercer does even better on it imo.
Nice profile pic
1:51 When you're beyond the grave but they're playing your song
Matthew Mercer with that Gods-blessed voice again...
Matthew Mercer is good at everything -.-
players who have yet to play the dlc are not the oceans gray waves
Omg XD
Looks at Europe
Thx I dont even have my PREORDERD special edition...
Fuck Nintendo of Europe they always screw up...
Yeah... I feel bad for Europe. They defiantly got screwed over on the release date (seriosuly about 4 months apart!)
well fuck you too im trying to get it
Ahhhh, you go Matt Mercer!!
And honestly; loving Rena's accompaniment 👌
tbh same
I am honestly shocked to find out that Matt Mercer is the one singing in this. That dude is the man of a million voices!
Something about Heirs of Fate is really powerful...
TONS of great memories of this game and it's DLC from college. This was my first of the new Fire Emblem games I played 100%, and grinding it with friends was so much fun.
I think if this anything to go off, it's that Heirs of fate was a much better and much better handled DLC substory than Awakening's Future Past.
Same here. Future past was just sending you to the future to help the children grab the gems. In Heirs of Fate, you actually experience the story from the children's point of view, you are given what they give you, they put a lot more effort and detail into the plot, and you see the royal children reuniting with their parents in the credits.
I agree this is better then the future DLC in awakening
Azura gave me joyful shivers when she sang. It made me feel happy that Azuras spirit won't rest until she knows the children are OK. Mercer NAILED IT :D. I sang the japenese one with this one
Goddamit Mathew Mercer why do you have to be great at EVERYTHING YOU DO
Oh.
I can see it now:
They're both the last two enemies that are blocking your path from Anankos with Ganglari as their weapons.
Pit Icarus r
That genuinely would be awesome but it’s briefly stated in the DLC that they are the only two alive. (both versions of Corrin.) I recently replayed every DLC too so it was quite incredible to re-experience everything. I noticed a couple more interesting details about the world than before. 🔥
I hate that they didn’t do this idea because the DLC perfectly set up the fact that the children we meet in this mode aren’t the ones we raised so they have no excuse for not putting a corrin in as they’ve just explained that the corrin we’re seeing isn’t our unit.
@@firewolf950tfwgaming7 Corrin is said to still be alive by anankos, if I remember correctly.
oh my
Praise hotoke
It IS Azama's voice actor singing...
With Mila's divine protection.
And Chrom, Levi from AOT, McCree from Overwatch, 2016 Espio from Sonic, and more.
Wait, Matthew Mercer is Espio now?
+Adam Rhodes That's what I've heard.
Imagine Shigure, Chrom, Ryoma, Azama, McCree from Overwatch, and MacCready from Fallout 4, all singing this together.
You're welcome.
Purple Mage this is random but it made laugh because Mccree from overwatch
I found your comment again and now I’m realizing why you mentioned all those people
You forgot a certain purple chamaleon.
He’s also Kanji from Persona 4 and Yusuke from Persona 5. What did we do to deserve the god among men that is Matthew Mercer.
Forgot Levi from Attack on Titan
Heirs of Fate ending is MUCH BETTER than Revelation ending
Yep
Yes but far darker things had to happen to set it in motion
Im here! Hug me :D"
It also solves the loose ends left in Conquest and Birthright. As the big bad dying here means he died in every timeline as well.
MAESTRO
Except I wish Shigure's and Azura's voices were a bit more clear and loud.
Some of shigure's lines still sound like they're in japanese.
I know this is like 4 years late but...
Why did Sakurai cut this song out!? It's so good!
Thats why Mods exists
@@brooklynshire4962 Just realised it's Fates DLC BUT they I guessed they could've added it to Ultimate.
I know right? If this was in ultimate id be so happy
Yaaassssss hunay, yasssss.
No seriously, thanks for uploading this! You're awesome. :3
Just thought about how people who don't buy the DLC never get to hear this masterpiece in this version.
Saddening.
I had the special version I kinda just forgot there was dlc...
Tfw I enjoyed this dlc more than the main story
@Brindale Honestly the DLC was outright better lol
First thing that comes in head when I hear this:
"You won't stop me!"
(2 years later) No more mister nice guy!
Nothing can top th-
Lost in Waves: Matthew Mercer changed my opinion before the instrumental came in.
i cried when i heard this tbh
more like teared up but eh
+Justin Same difference
+StardustJolteon meh, crying implies sobbing and audible noise or something. My eyes just watered a bit.
Heirs of Fate Story >>>>>>>>> Birthright, Conquest and Revelation Story
I ain't readin allat😂
Matt is too talented!
Leave some skill points for the rest of us dude!
you find out that this was sung by mathew mercer, then you realize what time it is...
I T ' S H I G H N O O N
I always like to imagine chrom singing this to baby lucina as a lullaby
Oh so that’s how he died in lucina’s future. She always said that she didn’t know exactly who the killer was so maybe its just that he ended up disappearing
💀💀
Small tangent, I had this and a bunch of other FE music on my playlist for listening to during my art class in high school that I listened to every day for three months or so, so now whenever I hear this song I'm reminded of that awesome class. The things our brain does with association is pretty awesome.
This song was the biggest loss of the 3DS eShop closure.
Thank you! It took me like 15 minutes to find this video.
Hey Chrom! I didn't know you could change into the Bard class? Maybe that should've been in Awakening...
He didn't want to be known as a spoony bard.
This dude's voice sent the craziest chills down my spine...Bravo Mr. Mercer

I'm picturing Ganondorf singing this in a final battle lol
I was waiting to see this comment. Cuz it’s my thoughts exactly
OH MY GOOOOOOOOOD.
-Also as a side note the two Kanas both have 6 fingers in this picture.-
lol true
It looks like six fingers but it's actually just the seams of their gloves on their index fingers that looks like another finger.
they come from different realms... so maybe they come from realms where everyone has six fingers? 😏🤗
+Andrew Allred a relm where everyone has six fingers ... and no feet
Also female Kana is left handed which is a first (I think).
Imagine ganondorf in totk just starts singing lol
DADDY CHROM SINGS
:')
What? Wrong fire emblem game.
@@jviolet2253 He and Shigure have the same English voice actor.
This is sung by Ganondorf's VA as of Tears of a Kingdom.
The wait was worth it.I love this soundtrack so much.
Imagine if the DLC carried over a completed save file and they added the mothers as well
after months of not playing this got me back into Fire Emblem
I haven’t played this DLC (yet), but just thinking about how Azura never let Shigure sing alone and stayed with him until the end, even after death, makes me emotional.
Me and a Co-worker have been singing this song all day at work the past couple days. It's just so so good.
I love it! I hope we get the full song with this now. I need to learn this part.
oh my god he sounds so
i don't even know what word to use to describe how beautiful and captivating this is
is Matt even real oh god im gay
On all levels except physical I am the ocean's gray waves.
This song finally hit 1 million!
I will be honest, I had doubts about Mercer. Sure, he's a good VA, but I wasn't sure about his singing.
I am glad to be wrong
played it 5 times already this was done really well.
Fire Emblem is Slept on in the Nintendo Community and you know it!
i cried during this, because azura/aqua died in birthrights and i cried for an hour, so when her son sings this its like my emotions go to hell and back for thirty minutes
Matthew Mercer & Rena Strober should sing together in live, this needs to happen! =D
THIS
THE SHIP HAS SAILED, JK NO INCEST BUT FEELSSS :')
Technically not incest. Not related in real life.
does anybody else like the part where both son and mother sing together ?
Shigure sounds exactly like the japanese singer is just amazing and Azura sound more enigmatic than her versions , ironic enough she is my favorite part of this , but Mercer (Shigure) keeps the level against a broadway singer and that just deserve praise itself. In a weird and "bad" localization like they did in the game ,these songs are just perfection. Props to everyone involved.
I swear, Fire Emblem Fates has legit made me want to play a Bard if I ever play D&D or Pathfinder.
Who else is scrolling down while they listen to see all the Matt Mercer praise/jokes/puns/references
I could listen to Matthew Mercer's angelical singing all day
tmw the voice actor singing Shigure's part also voice acted Ganondorf
THIS IS AMAZING
