I remember playing Conquest and fighting Garon and I was thinking the whole battle 'This doesn't feel like a final battle'. Then fallen Takumi showed up and this music started playing and I took one look at the map and I was like 'Yep, THIS is the final battle'

It's 2020 and I am still not tired of "Ocean's gray waves"... HELP ME!
But being serious for a moment, I think this is one of the coolest final maps in fire emblem history, it forces you to play fast, but not too fast because you gonna suicide all your units that way.
Not only that, the final boss is a SNIPER OUT OF ALL THINGS, they are considered a joke in most fire emblem games (unless you play 3 houses or shadows of valentia), and here they are as a FINAL BOSS instead of a dragon or divine enemy like the other routes.
My only wish was that you could save between battles, but besides that, great map, great music, 10/10.

Safe to say this battle fully redeemed the game in my eyes, as I had been growing tired up until this point.
Ugh, don't remind me of how many times one of the snipers snuck up on Silque or Tatiana. They were nightmares, honestly.

Which sucks because they cut out like 70% of the actual story.
For me i gotta say, FE Fates Story wise has to be one of the weakest main plots. And like most new FE games, the characters were a bit too fan service like/over the top anime for my taste. But likable.
But yeah the OST was spot on. As well it’s maps & units were fun! I particularly liked the amount of unit types. The split campaigns blows 3 houses out if the water. But 3 houses has a much better story. But college boring as duck after 3 times.
Classic FE where the simple but solid war stories be. And more serious characters i enjoy.
Did anyone realize how it instead of 'night brakes through the day' it went 'night brakes through the dark'? The same thing with the 'sky' version. This is probably the coolest thing ever :) It reminds me of what xander said at the end of conquest. Something like 'The night may be darker then the day but dont forget that it is always guided by thousands and thousands of stars.' Probably the most inspiring quote of the whole game.

This is the best song (all of the versions, land, sky, etc.) because they each have different lyrics. It's such a nice touch!
I was not expecting this boss, that's for sure.
It's kind of a neat touch that they slightly changed the words for the two versions, for a little bit of variety, but I'm getting the sense that if you hear one version, you've essentially heard them all.
Song preference just boils down to whichever version of the game you're attached to.
Conquest was so good, and this song made the experience complete. I was definitely not expecting takumi, but it was such a cool boss.

+Beat Bito I'd say in every aspect that conquest is better. Better maps, better characters, better support convos, better children, better final boss, nohr noble>> hoshido noble, better story & ending, cooler cutscenes, pacing wasn't all over the place, recruits made more sense, etc., etc... Revelation is pretty close though.
Playing through birthright would have changed my thoughts about the final boss of conquest. It would've been too obvious and lame, but it feels strangely resolved by playing birthright.
The quips that takumi made about his evil side were the only thing interesting in birthright's story. Everything else doesn't make any sense, and is executed pretty poorly.
I prefer hoshidians side but this song is my fav lol
For me, FE Fate’s story was just… eeehhh……. But ignoring story. The presentation and gameplay was pretty dang good!!
And if the characters were less fan service/over the top anime (supports wise). I’d like them better. But i found them still likable and different enough from past FE games.
0:05 - 1:16 This whole sequence sounds so epic, it's almost like the kind of music you would hear when a character is powering up or something.
And ugh don't get me started on the vocals, it just gets you so amped up!

I don’t know, I thought the enemy phase music in Awakening, Agression, was pretty bad ass. But I’m fine with it being taken out. It ruins the feel of battle.

Below is context to the song per-say.
Basically, theres an Asian & European war. Your birth family is the Asian side. But you were stolen & raised in the European family.
In this side of the story. You find out your adoptive family’s dark side, but choose to support them in the war.
An archer on the Asian side, (your brother) is unable to find it in his heart to forgive you. He is consumed with your betrayal and his heart is lost to darkness.
Through out the game he tries to assassinate you. Growing more corrupted and consumed with darkness every time he shows up. Until he’s fully lost and basically becomes a sick ass boss you fight to this song.

You can really hear Fates themes and motifs in Three Houses’ OST too… part of me wishes that these games were Three Houses-tier, because 3H proved that this formula can work if done right
I think FE3H has a MUCH better story & character stories. As well as full voice acting and generally better presentation.
But i think split routes, maps, unit options, and generally the turn based combat. I feel FE Fates kicks FE3H’s ASS. Cus FE3H re-uses SO MUCH content in ever route. I was getting beyond bored. Where as Fates be like, “Yo! Wanna skip literally to the route split? We get it dude.”
I got burnt out on FE3H much faster than i did on Fates. But i remember FE3H, the stories, & the characters MUCH more fondly.
I can say i do have a single extra, minor complaint on 3 Houses. I do wish that like.. character models, conversations, and Supports WERE NOT tied to the FE Warriors engine.
I feel like they could have done more or better if they had done something else unique for that game. Idk exactly what i mean since it’s been a while. But i know when i play it, it bugs me a tad.
The presentation is still GOOD! I just. IDK. I’m just being nit-picky. Feel like everyone’s just standing around, making the same hand-full of gestures, with oddly flat backgrounds. Or something.
Sure in EVERY FE game. There all just standing around. Idk. Im weird. Sorry i rant.
This is god level music. I love Fire Emblem Fates. The friends I made along the way on this journey will always be in my heart.

Terestrasz Nah, I first played through the game on Normal and the lack of explanation on how the stage works, and the toughness of the enemy, as well as the sudden upshoot in difficulty of the enemies made it incredibly hard. In process of playing Conquest Lunatic now though D:
This is actually a very hard route I will admit. xD It felt a lot more fun than Birthright was in many aspects. Though it did get a little annoying at how chapter 27 expects you to be like, level 18-19 while the final map expects you to be 20/20.

Conquest is definitely harder than Birthright, they got that right. Playing on casual, by the time I reached Takumi, I had only Corrin, Keaton, Xander and Gunter left. I did not expect this final boss at all, but I loved how it granted closure for both Takumi and Corrin. At first, I was convinced Conquest just had you siding with the bad guys (and essentially, that’s what you do), but I didn’t expect to love the story this much. The chapter where you reunite with Gunter felt a bit unnecessary (I know that gets expanded upon in Revelations, but it felt out of place in CQ) and I think it’s sad that Azura’s story gets sidelined a bit, even if she plays an arguably more important role in this game over BR. But I loved the map design, unique challenges to ever battle, I HATED having to fight the Hoshidan royals because I was so attached to them and cried when Ryoma and Takimi died, which is a good thing. Getting to kill Iago and Hans was way more satisfying in this route, because they were arguably even more horrible this time around. All I wanted was for Corrin to end the war, and every time they did something I liked, Iago and Hans had to go and destroy everything, which made me feel guilty af. I understand the criticism that Fates gets, but think the story really isn’t all that bad.
Sorry, I just finished the game yesterday, so I’m a bit in my feelings and needed to vent.
I find it crazy how normal mode of conquest is as hard as hard mode of awakening.

awakening on hard is really only "difficult" in chapter 2, with chapter 19/20 both being cancer to play but still not immune to nosferatu spam
Agree with this completely. Conquest is not simply siding with the bad guys, in some ways Corrin in this run is more pious than in Birthright. Iago is at his most evil in this. In the other runs he is just an enemy to fight, in conquest he is a slimy thorn in your side the entire game, undercutting everything you do, so when all the children turn on him right at the end it is so satisfying.

I liked the entire Nohr cast, especially Camilla and her EVA ripoff retainers.
I liked some of both groups. But for me. Newer FE games are just ti much fan service/over the top anime cleshay (mostly support wise. Battle wise it’s cool)
But i did highly perfer Norh classes.
I enjoyed playing Conquest, even tough I was very limited to the resources I have but I was able to overcome that and beat my little sister that has Birthright. That last boss battle was Epic and I actually felt being connected to it :D

Kaito Shion Mine was a a Luna from Nohrian Trust with Gunter followed by a Dragon Fang critical next turn... I had like 3 units with low hp and was praying for Takumi to move first
