Having squeezed myself through a 12x12 access hole in dry land and how I had to struggle with it there's no way I'm doing it underwater. And to do it not knowing what's on the other side is insane. Takes a special kind of person to explore these types of things, I'm not that person at least underwater, hats off to those who are. I'll stick to open water and caverns for my diving.

@@elisabethnm4492 I doubt there's a death wish, and if people thought someone had one they'd not go with them.
Up until a few years ago I would do high work others wouldn't, it was sketchy at times in how I had to get to things. I didn't have a death wish I just new my limits and felt safe enough to get the job done. Some of us are just wired differently.

Such an amazing video. It's hard enough doing cave exploring with modern diving gear, but gives you an appreciation for how hard it was in the past. They must have really loved what they did to do it.
You guys mentioned it many times before in the video, but I am curious how much time it would have saved them digging out the gravel if they had been able to do it on rebreathers. I imagine that alone could have saved them a ton of time. But I don't know exactly how much more time limited their digging dives would be on open circuit vs rebreathers. It just seems like it would be a lot.

I don't know nearly enough about diving just learning and safety improvements have been made.. But after I saw what happened with David Shaw I wouldn't trust something converting my air if I'm doing strenuous work at depth. It just seems like you can so easily become Hypoxic not scrubbing enough Co2 quick enough and pass out and no one's helping you if that happens.

That disaster is just terrifying to read about. In the span of seconds, a diving buddy drowns on the spot several hundred feet deep (probably from a CO2 episode, I don't know the exact reason). And then when the second team finds the deceased diver, ANOTHER diver from that team panics, overworks their rebreather, then drowns on the spot again.
It's a huge case study on the effects of hyperventilating and hypercapnia at depth on rebreathers. It's also a massive case study for cascading problems. Many disasters tend to happen from a simple issue.

I love Mike. I believe that’s his name of the guy exploring Blue Spring . I seen you guys interview him also. I’m only into half of this video and had to stop it to comment. If I was lost in a Cave and Woody and Gus are not around to rescue me, this particular diver in this video would probably be my next choice. Love dive talk!

So... I have a question for guidelines in caves... does anyone uses lines that glow in the dark ? since loosing light would pretty meach you're done for, why not have lines that glow in the dark like these little things you have to let in the sun to absorb energy then it glows...
