    I have the original ROG Claymore, and I absolutely love having the removable num pad. Unfortunately everything else about it ranges from average to bad. I've had chemo treatments that were more bearable than using ROG software.

    • @BuzzKiller23
      @BuzzKiller23 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@jGRite Believe it out not, much worse. It frequently just stops working, and the only fix is to re-install. But when you uninstall, it doesn't clean up after itself and leaves little bits of the program all over the system. You have to seek out and manually delete the little bits of software, .dll files and even delete registry keys to make sure the re-install works.

    Still way too loud.
    With an optical mechanism there should be nothing to make a noise at all.

    I love the Claymore because you can put the numpad on the left so I can have more space for the mouse. And I use numpads alot.

    RX is trash... iahve the RX red and 2 of my switches broke... they do feel nice and less wobbly compared with mx black (was what i had before lel) but they arent as strong... asus needs to make a square design or something to add resistance, because those small 4 pins... not gonna last... specially if you slide your keyboard by your keys (was what eventually broke mine)

    These boards sounds horrible, I never understood gaming keyboards. Sounds hollow with lots of wiggle on the stem. For the price you're better of picking up something like an RK84 or a GK61, lubing the stock switches and getting keycaps you like. Way better performance and value than this.

  • @Dr.Kryptanical

    the brown nx switches sounded best to me but they don't compare the sound of the mem-chan ones I have in my devastator 3 keyboard, my mouse is just dying on me now after 3 yrs since they skimped on that in cooler master D3 bundle but this laser etched keyboard has the most subtle yet satisfying sounding keys and it depends how lightly you press them they can be loud if you type fast and hard but if you go slow and delicate they sound really stealth and feel like I can glide my fingers along the kb and type pretty fast when I want while remaining pretty quiet with the keystrokes too, until rog get to that level i'll focus on buying their other products and stay my hand on buying a new keyboard for now... my new mouse however will be the Pugio II you should review the Pugio 2 it's impressive and comes with the japanese omron switches!

      The IBM Model M keyboard is a legend for a reason. Check out the Unicomp Model M and the Perixx Periboard for a modern day homage with a similar look and feel.
      In terms of modern switches, nothing feels quite the same as the IBM’s buckling-spring switches, but Kalih Box Navy and Jade switches are probably the closest modern options to the mark.

    i hadd this keyboard with reds, it is one of the best keys if not best to use and feel, but the software sucks, why the hell we cant control the brightness with the custom mode???? the blue led got burnt in 6 months and had to rma this, same problem was with romer g linear...i guess leds will eventually burn out but not this soon....also the point of using these custom keys sorta make you stuck on the factory keys forever....

  • @pavloscore

    why is there no brown optical switch variant and only red and blue ? this is the only reason im not investing in an optical keyboard(i really like the responsiveness and zero debounce delay but linear switches is a big turn off as well as the loud clicky sound of the blues).I mean same as razer they only have linear optical and then they go straight to clicky optical with no brown middleground.

    While I really like the innovations made to increase the stability and LED placement of the switches, I really wish they’d apply similar effort toward developing a less archaic design for stabilizers themselves. It’s so annoying that we have to go through a bunch of modifications in order to make stabilizer keys sound alright, and even then it’s really difficult to get them to sound good consistently. I’d be really interested in trying out these switches and it’s good to hear that the switches and stabs will come lubricated, but I’d also like to know whether there is any sound dampening foam used inside the board to help make it sound less hollow. Doesn’t seem like it? Though it didn’t sound too bad anyway.

    cant believe someone would want a switch that is clicky... when its optical like that click is all for a show like if you take that little piece of copper out it would feel 1000x better than with the copper piece at least it will be lubed from the factory so maybe it will be better.
