I think I need to clarify something: the intent of this video is not to serve as a substitute for watching the previous parts of Jojo. It's intended as a funny recap for existing fans of the show, and a primer to allow seasonal viewers interested in the series to check it out, without feeling like they need to slog through 40 hours of TV first. I should have said this at the end of the video:
If you watch Part 5 after this and enjoy it, I recommend going back to watch Parts 1-4. All I've done here is summarize them in a reductive fashion. There's a lot of texture and emotional weight that you will only get from watching or reading the whole series.
I regret not adding that final disclaimer. I thought it went without saying but it's clear from some of the reactions below that that wasn't entirely the case. that said...
To the people saying "it's a sin to skip parts" who AREN'T jo-joking... please stop. Anime's a hobby, not a sacred obligation. You lose out on some parts of the Jojo experience by going through it out of order, but the whole point of the time-skips is to serve as a jumping-on point for new readers/viewers. People should be able to enjoy anime in whatever manner is most enjoyable to them.
If they become fans through that - they will probably go back to see the rest anyway because they want more. Think of it this way - how many hardcore western Dragon Ball fans started the series at Z? I know I did.
There's nothing wrong with watching anime out of order if it lets you get to the part that most appeals to you faster. And if I can break down a perceived barrier to entry and help some people do that, in the long run, I think it will only help the jojo fandom grow.

I watched the parts out of order because they didn't seem connected, but they were.
Then i realized that season 8 would be a crossover of season 1 and 3, so i watched those seasons recently.
Is it necessary to watch the parts in order? Yes and no.
No because *sometimes* the stort telling isn't linear or connected.
Yes, because that was the author's true purpose and intention for making that specific order. When AHS seasons were first being aired, nobody knew they were connected, it was an anthology. Until the world oh AHS got more complex an connected over the years. That was there intent. To make the viewer watch all of these stories connect.
The same goes for jojo. Don't you wanna see how the author originally intended to make their work?

They talked of him a few times. I believe in one of Jotaro's monologues he talks of the people Kira has killed and his face flashes on screen for a moment.
To be honest I they may not even know Kira killed him, all they know is that one day while he was at school he just kind of vanished.
He got his moment at the end when the narrator spoke of all the lives lost, and how the family's would have to deal with the disapearances and never discover what truly happened. I wish they could have done an aftermath chapter like Vento Aureo did, the town had a lot of problems that still needed to be resolved, and there's no way that there were no other stand users there.

One of the best parts of JoJo is seeing Araki's style and storytelling develop and compound over the years, manga or anime. You lose that when you skip around or altogether skipping parts.

I think actually Act 3 power is causing effects based on rhymes and puns, but Koichi is just too dumb to think of different ways to use his powers so he only does what Echoes suggested itself.
Well I guess it’s because at that point Koichi had fully developed and didn’t have that many more battles to show his abilities.

@@sethfeldmann3204 Nah, Joseph cut his wrist to color the water to find Shizuka's shadow. He had a lot of heath issues at that point, so he couldn't use hamon even if he wanted to.

"They literally never use it again" Untrue actually. In Part 3, Joseph uses Hamon against the Empress and pumps his body with it during the fight with DIO. Not to mention the fact that every time Joseph uses Hermit Purple, Hamon is clearly shown radiating around Joseph's hand.
He also used it against Lovers and Dio.

Petshop was no freaking pushover, he sealed up his own wounds, never once gave up or ran away. Never hid behind his own power and actually pernemently disfigured one of the cast members for the rest of the show all on his own. The battle itself went from overground to underground to underwater, each time his target doing everything in his power to run away, but only dragged deeper and deeper into a corner.

atomicloli Probably because it's a hot show airing right now and they may have heard that the parts are all their own individual stories.
Why even watch Part 5 at this point? Just read a summery if you aren't gunna put in the minimum effort of just watching the series. It's almost all dubbed as well at this point, so you don't even have the excuse of not having enough time, you can just throw parts 1-3 on in the background while you multitask if you have too.
I feel like that's little better, as watching an animated show in the background causes you to miss out on one of the main selling points of the show: The Animation. Plus, I'm sure very few people will want to watch it dubbed, as most of the meme potential comes from the original Japanese voices.
There are the recap episodes for parts 1 and 2 as well.

Having watched the parts and hearing him explain it is amazing. “Forgets how to possess people.” I love the subtle not so subtle nudges to jojo’s wacky stuff
Surmerizing George Joestar as a bad judge of character robs him of one of his few characterizations. He knew he was being robbed and would be left for dead, but engineered the situation into a mutually beneficial one that ultimately saved his life, and possibly the world, in true and proper JoJo fashion.
He also knew they were bad, but still tried his best to uplift the Brando's, cementing himself as a real hero, even without powers.

You know a reason why Undertale fans are so hated right now is because they wanted to dictate how people should play the game and would harass any youtuber who played it differently. So how long before everyone starts hating Jojo's fans and Jojo's by extension for the same reasons.....
@Graceful Rival Lex The difference being that the way the Jojo fandom want you to read Jojo is by using the universally accepted system of reading books in order. 2 comes after 1, 3 comes after 2 and so on. Most of those who are interested in Jojo will read it in order. Unlike the Undertale fanbase, which was pissed off by people playing a game with multiple scenaristic outcomes and choosing some that were not accepted in the community. This is a cancerous mentality. Saying to someone that they should maybe read the books in order if they want to understand what the fuck is going on in the first place.
Untertale was also mainly hated because people tried to shove memes created at the same time as the game in the face of everyone. That will never happen to Jojo thanks to its massive influence that basically forced the memes it created in the anime and manga industry for over 30 years now. While Undertale appeared as a tumor to gaming, Jojo appear as the source of all tropes and as a source, it deflects hatedoms like it was nothing since the industry itself is pointing at Jojo while saying "we are always referencing and revering this manga as our best, maybe you should consider it as such". And this is what the majority of people see when they are exposed to Jojo.

Cream was a 60s band consisting of Eric Clapton, the late Jack Bruce, and Ginger Baker. They did the songs White Room, and Sunshine of Your Love. They were a supergroup that was only together for a few years, but they did some great songs. It is also a Prince song. I don't know which one Araki was going for, but if Part 4 and 5 show anything, it's that he really likes Prince.

Jonathan Pena I think that you're talking about skipping parts just get to part 5 and to that point I agree with you.However,I don't think it's bad skipping parts that some people might not enjoy as long as know what happens and watch/read it later.
For example:
I'm on episode 4 or chapter 8 and I don't enjoy the part at all so I just read a summary of what happens and then I go to the next part.
If you skip parts like this which I have personally done then you can effectively skip parts without being confused.

He would normally have to possess people who can't see his Stand in the first place or have time to set it up (such as when he did make his Stand invisible to DIO to set up a trap) in the first place. Also vampires and magic kung fu. But mostly the first things.
