It doesn't help that Neveldine and Taylor thrive on shocking imagery, so even *if* some basic starting research was performed, it was obvious they would've gone for the overt sexuality and violence of the medium's most popular representatives at the time.

The actual plot sounded like a very interesting thought experiment of what people can be forced to do for money, and the unchecked nature of megacorporation dominating a society. Instead of following through on that though ,they made edgy drama and shock value dependent scenes. Tbh, it looked like someone actually passionate about sociology or phycology wrote a conceptual script from their heart, then had to watch as it got run into the ground so the producers could get clout.

Idk if the shot at 12:51 has been edited for this video or if that's how it was intended in the original film but I actually do kinda like how creative it is. Looks like something right out a scene from Sin City or a comic book where they introduce a new mystery character and their face is in shadow and shaded out. Could have used a more aggressive angle and exaggerated Terry's features to make him seem more intimidating.

Goddamn, the plot of this movie sounds like one of the most unique and fun ideas I've seen in a long while. Goes to show it ain't the idea, but the execution.
Even then there’s some cool ass concepts here especially towards the end. That one scene with the villain was well done like the guy said. Plus the end where kable was able to win because his player got control of him again was pretty well done

This film's hyper-aggressive editing was the work of an editor named Doobie White, whose background I believe is in commercials. He is quite notably responsible for Resident Evil: Final Chapter having close to 6,000 cuts with a runtime of one hour and 40 minutes, with some scenes having about 45 cuts in 15 seconds. He's an editor that clearly knows what he's doing, but has dubious taste, and clearly has odd views on how many cuts per second the human mind can withstand.

The fact there's a freaking film called gamer from 2009 that almost no one has talked about for the last decade is something which elludes me.
Me and my dad thought it was a good idea, little did we know how shit of a movie it was
It's sort of telling when something like Wreck-It-Ralph pays more adequate homage to games culture than something that goes through great length to pack in all the visual stereotypes imaginable. "Gamer" isn't much more than the product of non-savvy producers thinking that your average consumer plays Call of Duty eighteen hours per day and somehow has no concept of self-care. It doesn't help that Neveldine and Taylor thrive on shocking imagery, so even *if* some basic starting research was performed, it was obvious they would've gone for the overt sexuality and violence of the medium's most popular representatives at the time.

I have to imagine the players are sens capped to prevent these cases OR each player must spend hours calibrating their slayers and possibly days of free run/gun training for the slayer to adapt to the "strings" and for the player to get a proper feel for any latency issues.

The actual plot sounded like a very interesting thought experiment of what people can be forced to do for money, and the unchecked nature of megacorporation dominating a society. Instead of following through on that though ,they made edgy drama and shock value dependent scenes. Tbh, it looked like someone actually passionate about sociology or phycology wrote a conceptual script from their heart, then had to watch as it got run into the ground so the producers could get clout.

Idk if the shot at 12:51 has been edited for this video or if that's how it was intended in the original film but I actually do kinda like how creative it is. Looks like something right out a scene from Sin City or a comic book where they introduce a new mystery character and their face is in shadow and shaded out. Could have used a more aggressive angle and exaggerated Terry's features to make him seem more intimidating.

This film's hyper-aggressive editing was the work of an editor named Doobie White, whose background I believe is in commercials. He is quite notably responsible for Resident Evil: Final Chapter having close to 6,000 cuts with a runtime of one hour and 40 minutes, with some scenes having about 45 cuts in 15 seconds. He's an editor that clearly knows what he's doing, but has dubious taste, and clearly has odd views on how many cuts per second the human mind can withstand.

As someone who's never watched Tokyo Drift, the street at 3:20 is where Sean does his sick drift in the red Lancer while being chased.
Shibuya Crossing in Japan, the most famous crosswalk in the world. Behind the scenes reveals the Tokyo drift scene was an elaborate set posing as the real place as it’s impossible to shut down the crossing for filming, and just as hard to get filming permission from the Japanese government.
This is like the movie that wanted to be Ready Player One, and failed in such a spectacular way it required a half-hour video to tell people how bad it was. Thanks for the hilarious 27 minutes and I hope you make more videos like this.
