@@TheHopelessGeek yes there is no harm in doing that you just need to swipe the magnet like a card where the sensor is. keeping it on the sensor always may cause the harm which is totally unnecessary
Can I suggest a video idea ?? There is tone of refurbished mini pcs available on Amazon with specs like i5 6th gen ,SSD, 16gb Ram from Dell and lenevo . Is it a good idea to buy one of this ?? For general day to day tasks.you can make a video about this .
Thanks for your sharing. I would like to add if you don't want to unplugged the PC adapter and don't mind consume little more energy. Switch off laptop in "Sleep" mode is also a good way to go.
Some laptops have a battery preservation mode which prevents it from being charged to 100%. In my case, it caps it at 60%. That means, even if I keep it plugged in all day, it will never go beyond 60. This reduces the number of charge cycles (between 0 to 100%) and increases the battery's operational life span.
@@TheHopelessGeek So in your video if you want to turn off your laptop, you have to unplug the ac cable first? Or you just leave the cable plugged in, no need to unplug?
I removed the lid magnet from screen frame, and i put my laptop on sleep, when i want to open it, i use wake on keyboard, but my cat turn on my laptop by step on the keyboard
First off, I never did make any other botton the power button before the power button stopped working, im stupid for not think of doing something like this. Because first a lot of the mayor keys I press like w or v and many others stopped working. Yet I had a external keyboard where for some fucking reason, said buttons that were not working on the internal keyboard worked on the external keyboard.
Yes, when laptop keys stop working, it's just the keys. The laptop is still capable of receiving those inputs. That's why an external keyboard works normally.
Bro I have ASUS x541u laptop. And I didn't get power management settings in bios to turn on my pc in fixed time or through external keyboard. What should I do. Help me please or provide me WhatsApp number. I'm from Nepal
"I'm helping you become as lazy as possible. We call it efficiency." hardest line i ever heard in IT
😂lmao. I'm out here exposing everyone
My old laptop has a broken body and every time I open the lid, it breaks even more so it's helpful for me.
1:09 try using a neodinum or a powerfull enough magnet to trick the lid sensor
Ah, that's an interesting idea. Will it be okay to use it like that though?
@@TheHopelessGeek yes there is no harm in doing that you just need to swipe the magnet like a card where the sensor is. keeping it on the sensor always may cause the harm which is totally unnecessary
Got it. I'll try that 🙂
Can you tell me the details and experience of the laptop stand ur using ?
It's from a brand called Megastro. It's quite good. I've been using their stands since 2021.

Hm.. usually those PCs are usable for regular tasks. I'll see what I can do about those.
Most needed!!
Glad I could help 🙂
Thank you sir. I've just started putting my laptop to sleep mode instead of turning it off.
That's a better way. The laptop will automatically hibernate when not used for long in sleep mode. 🙂
What's the name of that laptop stand
It's from North Bayou. Here's the exact seller I bought it from: amzn.to/3Y1ID4Y
Bro my laptop dont have boot on ac option in bios i have lenovo laptop
I guess it's running a different BIOS version
@@TheHopelessGeek what is the solution now ?
Hm.. unless there's a way to get some BIOS update, I think AC wake may not be an option.
Thanks for your sharing. I would like to add if you don't want to unplugged the PC adapter and don't mind consume little more energy. Switch off laptop in "Sleep" mode is also a good way to go.
Yes, that's how I often leave it. It'll automatically hibernate.
Is it good for our laptop if we always plug the cable charger on?

I can leave it plugged in if I want to. It won't charge the battery beyond 60, which is cool.
@@TheHopelessGeek thanks! nice info
Yup 🙂👍🏽
What model is your legion? Mine is y730 and my bios doesn’t look like that…
Oh, maybe they have different BIOS versions. The one I showed here is the Legion 5 Pro 2021 edition.
@@TheHopelessGeek ya they are
Please help me put with asus tuf A15
Do you mean how to get to this lid down mode on the Tuf A15? Do the same methods not work?
I'm too early, the "hello" guy isn't here yet 😔
LMAO😂He's a legend now
How to enter bios
It's a bit different depending on your laptop model. I suggest you look it up on the manufacturers website, or just Google it
Not even lazy here, but I have broken hinges in an otherwise extremely capable machine. I can't be opening and closing the laptop just to turn it on
Bro i have Asus laptop there are no any option like this ac wake or keyboard wake
Oh. Well, there isn't much we could do in that case.
My laptop shuts down/goes to sleep after few mins while the lid is closed while I'm using usb keyboard. Any help?
Have you disabled the sleep from the power options? That should prevent it from sleeping once the lid is closed.
@@TheHopelessGeek Yeah I've changed it to "do nothing" but it's still turning off.
I see. That's strange 😕. Is it set to do nothing for both AC power and battery modes? It should've stayed active.
@@TheHopelessGeek Yep.. I don't think it's a heat issue also because my laptop is not hot. Could it be a problem within some drivers maybe?
It might be. Or perhaps some models have a hardware-level sleep function with the lid.

Haha, cats always want to be near laptops, maybe due to their warm vents.😹
Your Boss with his 4 legs was not happy with your options
😂she ain't happy with most things I give.
Kinda annoying task to do, power your setup then turn on laptop this just solved my problem
With this AC wake feature, you can just connect everything and power it all on with one switch 🙂
Un-plugging the power means it's not charging when it's off.
I don't see why that would be the case. 🤔
Nothing worked for me
That closed lid with mouse method should have worked. 🤔
Can anyone help me to make my laptop turn on without using power button? it's Asus tuff A15
My power button is not working but I can make it power on
Oh. Does the BIOS not have any AC wake feature I mentioned?
No

I didnt found that option in my lenevo ideapad gaming lap
Maybe it uses a different version of BIOS
Lenovo ideapad is not a gaming laptop. Lenovo Legion and LOQ are thier gaming series laptops.

Some PCs unfortunately don't have that feature.
