Just bought my X3, can't wait for it to arrive. I wish I saw your video as it makes me more confident in my choice. I some some 3 star reviews on Amazon that were all over the place. Your video pointed out the good, bad, and the pretty - white. LOL. I'm going all black, with heated massager, no neck support, standard wheels, and memory foam (you sold me on it after the fact!). The question will be the seat, I went with standard as I'm not that fat and heavy like their biggest clients - 300 pounds - so I'm feeling happy with the purchase. I have seen some videos where the lombar support is failing like my current chair - slipping down. I fixed it with some good old duct tape and some black leather wrap. I'm sure a tie strap or two would work to - so no worries. The best selling feature is the sliding seat front back (many chairs do not have that feature or move far enough) - as I am 6'3 with long legs and over 280+ of muscle mass. ;-). Oh, I like my artist desk high like a bar stool - so I got the riser too - so I can stand at my desk or sit at it - hard to find those type of chairs.
Did you consider contacting X-Chair to get a replacement wide seat (not sure what the price would be?) Thank you for doing your review - I'm glad to see what the white chair fabric looks like in real life.
I am thinking about getting X2, the same color as yours and headrest. I sat in it for 10 min at healthyback store and it felt even better than hermanmiller aeron. Headrest was my favorite part. Seat depth was so good especially because I have short legs (5'9'') and most chairs don't let me put 3 fingers between the edge of the seat and my legs. To make things even better, it has $100 now due to labor day. I am 5'9'' and 155lbs so I don't think I would need 1inch wider black seat. By the way, I love your review and it doesn't sound like some of the paid reviews. I don't know when x2 chairs came out but I am glad that I found this video right before I am about to make a purchase.
I'm happy to hear my review was helpful. It sounds like it will be a right fit for your size and weight. Let me know when you get it and what you think when it's in your home/office. Aloha!
@@ilinauf I had a chance to go back and sit in it again. I played with adjustable knobs today. One thing that is still confusing was the backrest tilt lock. It wasn't clear exactly where it can stop and lock. I unlock the knob, hear the click sound, and then at this point, I am not sure how much I can tilt before I can lock it again.
@@JoonKimDMD on mine, I can lock it at full tilt. The way you can tell us to reset the lever while it is moving back to the locked position and the lock will engage in it's own at the next possible position.
@@ilinauf I ended up getting X2white without the headrest. Total after tax was $848. I was debating between 1 inch wider black version and white. I picked style over comfort. I would've regretted either way. They should make wider white haha. I like it though, I am smaller than you afterall :) 5'9'' and 155~160lbs. But if I have to buy a second chair, I will most likely pick X3 memory foam with 1 inch wider.
I had an online chat with the customer service rep to see if there were any specials going on and they helped me find a current offer. Very friendly staff.
Great review. We appreciate the feedback. Actually curious if you'd be okay with us using this as part of our presentation for CES 2021 (digital). Thanks!
I have just bought an X3. I love it, except for the fact that there is no lock on the back adjustment up and down? Every time you sit, you need to readjust it. They should have included some sort of locking mechanism that you could press or pull like that on stationary bikes for example.
I know what you mean. I have become accustom to how I initially sit down in the chair so it doesn't move it from my desired position. You can lock it permanently by removing the cover on the back of the chair and inserting the bolt but it doesn't make it easy if you ever want to adjust it again. Hopefully they take note for next generations.
I am enjoying it. I sit in it daily. I did get the upgraded wheels and it does help with a smoother glide across the floor. It is very breathable. I put a fan to my back all the time and it works well with that setup. Only thing I've noticed is that when I lean all the way back, I can feel the hardware of the chair under my seat poking though. I work around it and it is fine. Just depends how you sit in the chair. All in all pleased with it in our 80-90°F house. I never run the AC.
Interesting about the seat when fully tilted. Do you think that will harm the mesh seat in the long run? Also, can the chair stay in a reclined position? Close to pulling the trigger on this chair or the Ergohuman Elite. Mahalo for the help, bro.
Yes you can lock the seat at any of the recline levels. I don't think it will damage the materials because I don't feel that it is causing friction. Instead, it is like someone is poking their fist into the bottom of the seat with a slight edge feeling. I don't like it but it doesn't really cause discomfort. Just awkward. When I scoot back against the DVL, it doesn't touch anymore.
I do like the chair still. It has held up well. I still really like the white color as well but there is minor discoloration on the headrest likely as a result of sweat and hair product as I wear gel occasionally. The tension of the mesh is also doing well but I would say that there is a slight decrease from the brand new chair. Overall still recommended.
I got a deal in Vietnam, the design is almost 90% the original, except for the DVL and the price is 1/4 of that 600 bucks. Chinese knock-off as it's finest.
the more I watch reviews like this and the more I try to be more comfortable in my home office -------- I realize that the world has gone to shit with this pussification nonsense. Get the hell outside and build something for your home.

I did but it only came in black. Thank you for the feedback.
Comparing this chair with the Steelcase Gesture with headrest. Anybody have any experience with that one vs X-Chair ?

Awesome video! How much was the shipping cost to Hawaii?
No charge. Pretty quick too. Was only 10 business days.
Thanks for the review. How did you get the discounts?

this model, or X3 with seat in memory foam?
I still prefer my vented seat.
Are you still liking the chair after a year? Is it holding up well?

What does the spinny knob do?
It tensions the ability to lean back in the chair.

@@ilinauf Sorry, bad reference to National Lampoon’s Vacation where the car dealer says “You think you hate it now, wait until you drive it”
