J.K. Simmons ABSOLUTELY SMASHES the role as Omni-Man, this is only the second thing I've heard him do voice acting for (the other being the videogame Portal 2), and both times he has knocked it out of the park and been my favourite performance out of the cast
Robert Kirkman was actually the writer of the Invincible comic as well as The Walking Dead comic. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, not only was he writing them both at the same time for about 15 years until he ended them, I believe he may have created Invincible first. Robert Kirkman is a great writer imo, and I'm glad that he's decided to be much more hands-on with the development of this adaptation this time. This show really is something special. I love the art style, the humor, the action, the writing and the voice cast. Easily one of the best new shows of last year.
He probably died in about 1 second, which to him probably felt like several minutes. Imagine several minutes of being held in a vice grip that is slowly closing, knowing you're going to die, unable to stop it.
@@Korica It only feels slower to him when others are slower. But Omni is not slower so Reds death wouldve been no different than if I walked up and squeezed your head with super strength, couple seconds tops NOT minutes. It's simple physics.
@@jm329 Yeah, I dont really know why people WANT to believe that he suffered more for their headcanon. It happened at the speed we saw it, no indication of a prolonged death, which is a GOOD thing lol.
I think one of the reasons this show was so good is that it's very well written and voice acted. A lot of the characters felt pretty real and did things relatively logically. Debbie was one of my favorite characters cause she felt so real.

Ohh man, I am a VERY lucky guy. Not only is The Boys one of my all time favourite comic books ever (seriously, as crazy as the show is, it barely scratches what the comic is like), but Invincible is actually my #1 favourite comic book (and once again, as crazy as the show gets I'll be interested to see if it touches on just how great the comic book is start to finish), so I get to enjoy both shows myself, and I get to see them become mainstream AND I get to see great reactors like yourself react to them. You're in for a wild ride, as is anyone who keeps watching this show as it progresses through the comic story. I can't wait!
"Who could take him down?!" The Guardians of the globe probably could have won based on the damage they did, but someone actually did a video of a tactical breakdown of the fight at the beginning vs the fight at the end: in the beginning it was a clear enemy and they all used their powers to compliment each other and attack together, Red Rush is playing a defensive role to save people, Green Ghost uses her ability to trap the enemy in the floor, etc) but in the end they are so shocked that they are pulling their punches because they've known him for years, and attacking one at a time whilst very confused, and by the time they realize that they can't hold back they have already lost Red Rush, Darkwing, and Green Ghost, which is nearly half of the team. The first mistake goes to Red Rush for going on the attack, which allowed him to get caught and meant he couldn't save the team any more like he had with Immortal and Aquarus at the start, and the second is that Green Ghost is so scared and confused that all she does is catch Darkwing's corpse before she dies, she didn't even get a chance to use her ability on Omni-Man, after that they don't stand a chance (tbh Darkwing couldn't do much at all beyond maybe use tools to distract Omni-Man and help the others, he had ZERO chance of damaging him)
Hey Brandon, not sure someone told you this: This show is inspired by the Robert Kirkman comic "Invincible" that was sold between 2003 and 2018. Not gonna spoil anything for you, but I'd recommend getting and reading the comics. Is one of the most exciting comics I ever read, very mature, with a completely different style (compared to Marvel or DC).
I can imagine every shot and piece of dialogue being ripped straight from the pages of a comic book. I’ve never read the Invincible comics, so I know almost nothing, but I can easily imagine!
I don’t think I ever noticed before that the music cuts out as Red Rush has his skull crushed. The rest of the fight is just punches and gore or dialogue. Definitely adds to the brutality.
Happy to see you start Invincible! Also Better Call Saul Season 6 trailer just dropped, not sure if you try to avoid trailers usually, but the cinematography and everything about it looks amazing!
I still love the detail in when Omniman is crushing Red Rush's head you see it from his POV considering seconds are literal hours to him like he said earlier in the episode
I love, when I was watching the 1st episode, I knew "something" would happen. I was very scared for the guard at the beginning, then for Darkwing, when he was nearly crushed, and then I expected something to happen to the mom somewhere along the episode, but then, at the end when you're finally lulled into a false sense of security: BAM.
I love how the first 90% of this opening episode restricts itself to feel like a general PG-13 superhero story, both in the severity of the action and the language, which makes the turn at the end feel all the more shocking and unexpected
I finished these first 3 episodes, and was into it so much that I went out and read the entire run of comics by the time the next episode dropped a week later. Such a fantastic series, excited for your reactions.
I loved that they used cast members of the Walking Dead for the Guardians of the Globe since Steven Yeun (Glenn) voices the main character of this series.
My cousin has every issue of Invincible, The Walking Dead and Outcast by Robert Kirkman. There was a short lived tv series based on Outcast, cancelled after one season. He also has a dozen issues of Kirkman's Battle Pope, the Pope as a superhero during the 1,000 year reign of Satan after the rapture, I'm not religious but I think it would make a good tv show, like Preacher but more Apocalypsey.

Absolutely one of my favorite super hero series. After watching this show, I picked up the entire comic book collection. I can’t wait to see how they handle the rest of this series. The books rank pretty high for me. I personally can’t wait to see a couple antagonists that haven’t been introduced as of yet. And if they stick the landing….this series is going to multiply the brutality times 10 before it’s over!

Yeah, except that Omni-Man was faster so Red's death felt like any normal person's death, thankully. Fast for normal people but not "Super"-man.

While Omni Man crushed Red Rushes head in seconds, It seemed like hours for Red Rush. I like how they set that up like 2 minutes before on his date.

the way i interpreted it was we saw red rush's perspective and nolan just smashed it instantly, seeing how slow we saw rush's punches so slow

This series and Arcane some of the best animation series I have seen in a long time.
