Ridley can be really tough if you collect every item

I mostly call them black space pirates
Unless you’re 100%ed. Mecha Ridley will get stat buffed in that case, even nastier in Hard Mode as you get NERFED on top of that
they are the final boss

The final boss is debatable, either the actual boss or the last two twin badasses at the very very end. And them theres that pathetic last attempt by mr vigilante justice who just gets obliterated by your ship lol

I mean, he knows he's gonna get blown up anyways, it was either get roadkilled or end up having all his atoms in his body vaporized.
Rather interesting how the two fucking Zebesians, who are supposed to be midly basic enemies, are even more difficult than the final boss.
If the final boss was more difficult, everyone would complain that it's too hard. Video games aren't all meant to be impossible, plus, final bosses are usually easy.

the regular ridley is even more difficult than this.....
And that guy can be beaten in less than a minute by spamming missiles.

to be fair, mecha ridley is unfinished. he can do little more than drag his torso in as his legs and wings werent installed.
Hard mode, and get 100% items and then take this fucker on. He'll actually be more of a challenge.
I found Meta Ridley from metroid prime 3 harder than in Zero Mission. One thing that I loved about the GBA Metroid games was been able to use the Fusion suit in Metroid Prime 3 and Echoes will always be my favourite.
The 2 fucking black space pirates right before hopping on the spaceship looked more difficult than Ridley... fuck this game.
He's pretty tough if you're running through the game as fast as possible and not picking up much. Low percenting with 4 missiles and 1 super would be ridiculous. >.>
+Skeith804 I did that when I was about 12. It took me forever to beat and is one of my proudest gaming accomplishments. Beating ridley is hard, but I was able to beat him about half the time with minimal power ups in hard mode.
The hardest part was escaping afterward. You don't get any health along the way, and it only takes one or two shots from a space pirate to kill you. The black space pirates make it nearly impossible to beat the game. The game is about a thousand times harder when you play it that way to get the best ending.
That one last pirate. He's all like "hey! Bro! That's my ship! What the h*ell are you doing! Du-*smash*"

This boss is so huge, that when you look at one indicator, you can't see the other one. Oh, and he does 300 contact damage WHICH INCLUDES HIS CLAW
Actually I just found out that this boss was not actually Meta-Ridley. But a robot ridley meant to take his place while they were re-building him.
So I guess he's only been rebuilt two times, and then mutated once in Fusion
If you get 100% items collected, he becomes hard as hell. Definitely hard enough to be considered a final boss.
i loved this game when i got it for my gameboy SP altough i was young when i first got it and didnt even get past Kraid when i uh.......accidentally left my gameboy on a store shelf in target :(

For a final boss this is pretty easy. Those two elite space pirates at the end are harder.
This boss is in my opinion the only true flaw zero mission has. Even so, i believe it's actually an easy fix.
First of all, apparently this fight is more difficult depending on how many items you got. While that makes perfect sense in the games lore, considering that Mecha Ridley wasn't even finished and so the more items you went to find, the more time the pirates had to work on him. The fact is that from a gameplay perspective, that design quirk is holding this fight back. He should be at his best regardless of your item collection rate.
Secondly, Mecha Ridleys theme music gave me a wonderful idea. It starts up very strong and sudden, as if it's meant to be a huge surprise or a shocking entrance even though he walked in slowly and wasn't a shock at all...but...what if instead, it WAS a surprise!?
What if, instead of starting the escape sequence when you kill him, Mecha Ridley ambushes the player...DURING the escape sequence!
Just imagine it! Your halfway out with maybe two and a half minutes left, all of a sudden everything goes quiet and you hear his mechanical footsteps from above you...and then all of a sudden his music starts and the GIANT FUCKING ROBOT just cool-aid mans in through the ceiling!
Mecha Ridleys weak point is frequently guarded by his neck or hands, FORCING you to be patient despite the TIMER that's looming above their head!
They could've programed him to block more if the player has super missiles equiped, or block more and more frequently the closer he gets to being beaten. Making his threat more about wasting your time instead of outright killing you.
This fight could have easily been the most exhilarating part of the whole game!

I played this years ago, and I would play the ending over and over.
I think the black pirates were the real final boss.
That was about how I played it when I was like... 10 years old lol. Never gets old.
Saying that Ridley has took possession on a Robot when his Organic Body was destroyed reminds me of Bionicle were after Makuta Teridax was defeated by Takanuva in the 2003 Story line (Mask of Light Movie) Makuta Teridax did not have a physical Body until he took possession of a Maxilos Robot in the 2007 Story
@12345678920944 mother brain was the final boss of the original metroid, which this game is a remake of, but they added an extra bit after samus gets shot down and loses her power suit, therefore making you play as zero suit samus

I didn't really like anime Samus. I prefer how she looked in Metroid Prime, she actually looks like a normal human being instead of some "hot" anime girl.

The stylized look was deliberate because the makers new people would be playing the game at a tiny resolution. It allowed for slightly less actual detail to be apparent while still looking smooth. Super Metroid wouldn't have looked as good as you remember it on such a small screen. Also, plot has never been important to Metroid save for Other M...but I like the touch at the end of this one with the drawing of the Chozo with Samus.

+Arno Dorian He's significantly harder when you actually have all the upgrades - this guy went into it with half the energy tanks, less the half of the missile expansions and super missile expansions, and only one Power Bomb pack. He's also playing on easy, so that probably makes things even easier.Look up a fight in a 100% run on Normal of Hard.

No matter what you do with the time or items on easy mode you will always get the worst ending. Try beating the game on normal mode with only 15% items. Although there is no time limit its very challenging. There are a total of 9 power-ups that you must have in order to beat the game, so that makes at least 6 other power-ups that you can decide to choose from.

Good for you, but when you play a game, you play as the character, who in this case happens to be a girl. The reason the suit looks very masculine is because originally nobody knew Samus was a girl, even the game manual used gender neutral pronouns to refer to her, so it was like a big WHAAAT? when you found out. Samus is a girl. You are Samus. Deal with it.

I don't consider this to be Meta-Ridley because it is clearly different from Meta-Ridley in Metroid Prime and Smash Bros Brawl.

Metroid 2 didn't, in fact, the exit trip was rather quiet and peaceful. The game was an oddball in the series so this isn't too unexpected.

metroid games = labyrinths + ugly boss + missiles + self destruct when you kill the boss + (wth don't we samus aran in panty in this episode ????)
if someone dont know you can record your play with the Visual boy advance emulator, you only have to go to tools/record/Start AVI recording.

OK! I'm confused now! First I see the Mother Brain... Then i see Meta Ridley. The only Metriod boss I know is from (Fusion). He is called the 'S.A.S'... Why not call him ass by switching the the first letter and the second letter. But that's off the subject. So is there two final bosses or is there a mix up. And has anyone gotten the zero suit yet? Because in 'Fusion' it is easy to get. Yet the boss is a little hard and yeah. Please reply to this questions to whoever know about this kind of game
Can someone explain to me a consensus of Ridley, in the Metroid series Ridley is a re-occuring boss/character and is always spoken of as a sole being of it's race. Like Ridley isn't bound to a race of creatures, but himself, which creates the race solely in it's life? He's never spoken of as a group or race of enemie, I don't really understand when he's beaten and killed in most games but still appear in the next, AND he's potentially grand-master over space pirates?
I never got the final boss being Meta Ridley. Why couldn't it be Mother Brain and then that weird chicken thing that she turned into at the end of Super Metroid? Oh well. Also, nice job w/ Meta Ridley! I got stumped and lost most of my energy tanks and lost all of my super missiles! :'(

It's possible to kill him on the first opening he leaves,(on normal)use super missiles and fire them fast. If you want to see it done, see my video of it.(It has the other bosses on it too but just skip to the end.

The Space Pirates are so dumbs! they could escape using the shortcuts of the ship, but noooo, they had to use them just for killing samus AND themselves. Now I see why Samus always wins against them

Mecha Ridley seems to be too underpowered. he was downed after 5 super missles, that's not enough >.>. They should've made him much harder to beat imo :(

No, its mecha. Meta ridley is ridley modified with mechanical armor and such, mecha ridley is a purely mechanical robot designed after ridley.

Meta-ridley doesn't come till prime, this is a security drone that Ridley ordered built in his likeness, because ridley is a huge narcissist.

hardest missile to get is the secret one in tourian after Mother brain is dead. you have to have perfect timing.
