this game is nothing but hella options. technically the blocks that led up to the screw attack were destroyable in nestroid as well, so this is really nothing different
@@MrLachapell This TAS? Definitely 😃 I have learned some more since this, and still likely have some small knowledge gaps Also there's a really funny thing in here where I lost 4 seconds that is really funny once you notice it
This was really cool! Love the unique route for all the upgrades. Quick question at 20:20 - Aren't there screw attack blocks next to the first launcher? I think breaking them would've saved some time instead of going to the lower launcher.
Maybe Samus will get a better gun that not just stuns enemies, but also inflicts damage to them. If not, she’ll upgrade her paralyzer so it can inflict damage to enemies as well.
I've actually done both 18:41 and 22:12 with no TAS before, but not very often. Requires really fast reflexes though (or button mashing mastery at least)
Today I learned you can just *missile* your way up to get the screw attack. Damn.
Yeah. I alway bomb jump for an early Screw Attack.
i shinespark it the one layer below

Me too.
Also, 12:05 was the coolest shinespark I've ever seen. What a cool sequence break! That morph ball bomb was swag.
8:10 the devs knew someone would somehow get to kraid with the varia suit
10:45 they also knew someone would enter norfair with the varia suit.
Honestly early Varia suit is genuinely one of the more straight forward sequence breaks, it's only like, 2 sets of bomb jump climbing
@@thrasher698 but it also requires some level of skill with the bombs ibj. Which is why it is so satisfying to pull it off.
I wouldn't say straight forward, if someone is familiar with ibj and attempt to get Varia suit without power grip it becomes alot more difficult.
@@thrasher698generally I get it with wall jumping and ice beam (but it's faster with the bomb jumping method)

Lore accurate samus! I usually don't watch speed runs but this is amazing
greatest surprise to ever grace my home page
Same lol. I had no clue zero mission could be completed with only this many items lol
22:13 Long Beam GET
Let that sink in.
Love seeing a TAS’d Varia Suit. No one ever does it since you get it automatically.
Yea this was a fun one to do. Was interesting cuz you otherwise never see it. Might redo this sometime. :)
@@Jakoliath It can be optimized still ?

When was anyone gonna tell me you could kill rippers with super missiles!?
The fact they could be killed in nestroid with missiles. (One variant at least.)
They can be killed with supers in Super Metroid as well @RobbWes
Don't think I've ever seen a short wave beam without the ice upgrade. It's pretty...

you are correct 😆 something like 4 seconds. I knew those blocks were there, I just had a major brain fart there
@@Jakoliath Knowledge for next time!
Does changing the sound settings to Headphones do anything to save time, or was that more for the viewer's experience than anything else?
Purely for the viewer :)
29:12 Hold on. Is that legit?
yup.
@@andiberry23 Sweet. Gonna have to file that away for the next time I play.
I have played ZM countless times and I still learned a ton watching this. Are all of the sequence breaks possible without TAS?
Yes just about everything in this is possible without TAS. The TAS is more for absolute optimization.
Maybe Samus will get a better gun that not just stuns enemies, but also inflicts damage to them. If not, she’ll upgrade her paralyzer so it can inflict damage to enemies as well.
I didn't know you could Zeb Skip in Zero Mission, lol.
Awesome
i cant get the super missiles 😢
theres an easier way to get super missiles, do the shinespark puzzle in upper brinstar.
16:19 😁
18:41 at the same time?
22:12 huh.
Very cool glitch.
