I tested a Bambu Lab A1 mini 3DBenchy on LUDICROUS (fastest )speed, is it still QUIET and FAST?😲🤫

- I test the ludicrous speed setting on the Bambu Lab A1 mini with AMS. Also testing and reviewing the Bambu lab PLA filament. This thing is incredibly quiet and quick, a real powerhouse of an entry level 3D printer for newcomers and enthusiasts.
I forgot to mention that I also had left my dehumidifier running in the room while I was filming and that actually made the room noisier than it would have been :0
I watched the whole print, and couldn't help but burst out in laughter hearing that goofy tune when it was done printing. That seemed so random and so much less dramatic than the drasticly slow movements the printer was making.
I like it though, I gives me mac vibes where they did things that just make it FUN :)
Thanks for watching :)
Pretty good quality for that speed. I have the A1 and haven't tried anything on ludicrous speed yet.
@@andybynum5365 it’s crazy just how good the prints turn out at that speed :) My X1-C is just barely better but slower for sure
Cool content, this is what I was looking for, actual printing video
Thanks for the feedback !!! Hope this helped you !! :)
@@stevekay6895 Was fun to watch, I subscribed
@@vVinchi thanks so much :) i appreciate all the support and will do my best to keep the content coming
sheesh, and I thought my neptune 4 was fast lol. For when you need a benchy RIGHT NOW.
No joke! I even have an X1-C right next to it and it still seems fast!
I love my P1S, but it's definitely not quiet. I had issues picking between the A1 and P1S, and eventually went for the P1S because it's enclosed and was available at that time. I definitely don't regret it, but I do miss the silence.
I think you still got a great printer ! Thanks for watching the video and commenting :)
Damn, that fast with that quality?!?!
@@Germany460 Yup, it completely blows me away how good this thing is !! :) THANKS FOR WATCHING :)
21:50 - Don't do that. They are flex plates for a reason, you flex them to get the print off. Pulling a print off like that, especially before it's cooled, is the quickest way to ruin a build plate by pulling off the surface coating.
Right on, I kinda got a little excited there huh??
Great Advice, thanks for watching :)
alot of smaller prints, can't be "flexed" off the bed without excessively bending the plate to a degree where it feels like it'll snap.
in those situations you are kinda forced to break it off at an angle, but definately let your plate cool down all the way.
bambu plates almost seem like self release when they get below 30 degrees.
@@Deathbyfartzhow long can it take to cool off?
@@raular5513if you take build plate off the print bed, it cools very fast, as there's very little thermal mass
looked at my ender 3 and sighed
@@powerpc64 that is STILL a great printer tho !
Thanks for watching :)
Favorite part at 19:05 when it covers the top.
Yeah it is absolutely mesmerizing isn’t it 😄
When i do that the whole printer vibrates so hard (especially on the front where there is less weight) that it would move itself off the table or against something. Not sure if this is ok, but just watched another video that does the same. Can't see on yours.
I don’t seem to have that problem on my bench but that damn thing does fly !
THANKS FOR WATCHING :) Had a great time with this one and really put the A1 to the test!
Hi Steve, I'm thinking about buying one like it, but I have a concern about the noise that the printer makes, because of the neighbors, because of the neighbors, because of the neighbor
Where all the walls are thin, thank you for your attention
I think the fact that this is a bed slinger means is a lot quieter than the X1-C and much larger Core XY printers. I think the fans are the loudest part of the machine and your neighbors probably won't ever hear it. Thaks for Watching and Commenting :)
@@stevekay6895 Thank you for listening!! I think I'll go ahead with the acquisition! 👌
@@dantrgm Nice !! I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine 🙏
The printer doesnt make much sound during printing. However, the initialization of print has X-Y vibration tests that sound like a jet engine starting. That can wake people up.
my cat sleeps next to the printer ! lol.
It’s a smaller bed therefore quicker to check.
For sure but the whole process of probing is done faster. I think it actually probes the bed as many times as the X1 but doesn’t have the travel time. But I feel like the thing still moves faster while doing it. Thanks for watching :)
Would be interesting to have "smart leveling" where it only checks bed level in the area it's going to be using to print.
@@blalesnail3098 I wonder how they could implement that 🤔
@@stevekay6895if they parse the file they can easily get the outer dimensions of the print moves, and even simpler would be to add a G-code to set the outer part dimensions cause people use Bambu slicer either way
@@stevekay6895 Wouldn't be hard for the slicer to calculate it then add it to the gcode file for the printer firmware to read.
Skip to 7:00 to see the printing start.
I’m sorry if you found the beginning to be boring. I will try to be better. THANKS FOR WATCHING! 😀
@@stevekay6895 - it just takes 7min to warm up, gotta show all the facts! :D
@@Baldavier thank you for the advice, I will have a full review with all that kind of info coming in the future. Bamboo did not ship all of my order, and I am missing the smooth built plate and hot ends from the mega combo when I get all of that and can finish the video look for my review ;)
I also have the X1C. A1 is on order.
How much would you guess the X1 (all side closed) is louder than A1 in % ?
I would say that it’s noticeable, the tones are different so they may actually get picked up or bother people more than the A1. I would say that the percentage might be like 10-15 percent quieter and a lot of that might just be fan noise that may or may not bother you. Will have a full review as soon as Bambu Lab sends the rest of my mega combo so I hope you check that out and you enjoy your A1 when it arrives :)
@@stevekay6895 Thanks for your response. Fan doesnt bother me at all since its a constant noise. But I can hear the movement system trough walls when im in the next room with both doors closed
@@louissenn9897 ahh gotcha…I think the movement noise is the same for either machine but the X1 moves more because it prints bigger stuff. I’m more than happy to engage with comments and enjoy it. Thanks for watching:)
Hi. How did you change the speed? I know how to do it on the X1 but I cannot find it on the mini
On the touchscreen there is a “control” option…on the bottom left there should be a gauge and a percentage button…that’s the speed setting. Thanks for the comment and for watching the video :)
mind sharing your profile for this print?
@@atechcheck it actually came with the A1 mini on the SD card ! You just have to switch the printer to ludicrous in the settings.
Thanks for watching :)
@@stevekay6895 NP mate, great I will check it when my printer arrives (switching from Prusa mini…) but it Q looks decent for non complicated functional prints like Vesa mounts boxes etc. Basically anything that doesn’t need to look perfect xD
@@atechcheck right on !!! I love my A1 and haven’t regretted buying it for a second !
