- Original ECU had some issues so second hand unit was acquired however had different part numbers - however the main circuit board was identical so swapped over main Micro controller and 2 memory ICs - This was the procedure that followed
Not complaining about the soldering, executed nicely. Complaining about the choice of Chips you swapped, the main cpu has no rom so it can stay there. The 29F400 needs to be swapped as it is the Flash containing the Software, correct. The NEC on the bottom is the SRAM, so its RAM and you dont need to swap a ram chip. And you missed a 8 pin SOIC, mostly a 95P08 or something like that containing the IMMO, fault memory and some parameters.
I have 2010 VW Jetta 2.5 but I don’t have 8 pen chip.. do you knw which chip containing the memory.. there should only be one I need to swap out correct?....if you can help please.

Does it have an eeprom on the bottom 95P08,an 8 pin chip?In 11:07 is shown in the left down corner,this needs swapping i think.

do you also happen to know what the procedure is to nullify the immobilizer routine? ...or is that automatically taken care if you swap out all the chips and eproms that have different identities....?

Very interesting video, On the ECU commonly encountered by you is it standard practice
to replace the main MCU and Memory IC's from experience or was there a specific reason that lead to that repair.
I ask this because I have a TCU from an audi a6 that has failed and I am considering tacking on this repair and your advice and experience would helpe me in this regard.

Hey there i have one question
I have audi q7 3.0 2011 model
Recently serviced and battery changed
after few days car was unable to get motion once brakes were lifted
Unless we hit the accelerator till 1500rpm then the car moves with a jerk
And a engine and heater light blink once for fraction of a second
And now rpm dips when hit the gas paddle in idel rpm with the same engine and heater light just for a fraction of the second
Now car is with the service center for 2 weeks now with no fault code
Please help 🙏

2nd question. each ECU has an exact part number. if you swap out an ECU with an exact part number duplicate, do you really need to go through any of this...?

It is not such a big deal,in the worst case scenario if you destroy peoples car then will be get sued.
