I did a larger bosch ic driver today. For anyone struggling, remove the backplate as this will sink all the heat youre putting in. Also, they are glued so when the solder is finally loose, you still have to forcefully yank it. Not fun

Question, is it possible to remove the board from the shield?

A question, if you put too much solder on each bump does the solder mix together ot will it stay on the pins? and can you remove some?

Just wanted to reach out and say a big thank-you for this great nugget. Normally, I would go to my trusty old mechanic. But he is away for a month and a half and I need the car to work this week for some trips I have to take. Sourced the part at Repco, same day I called them. But it is closer to $120 rather than online where you can apparently get after market ones for about 30 bucks. The reason I knew it was most likely the responder, rather than the alternator is because I literally had the RACV around changing the battery a fortnight ago and he tested the alternator. Time to buy a newer car.

Any chance anyone knows the diesel timing control resistor value on 1kz Auto 4 pin ecu?

This is all quite vague and putting a huge amount of solder melting hot air over all the electronics as well as joints. For many this is a journey to disaster. I thought repair was a matter of identity and rectification but times seem to have changed.

Hello friend, I have that same icu in a 2002 Citroën C5, the signal does not reach injector 2 and 3, it comes from the computer. You will know which component you have to change.

I have pin 89 negative trigger always open when I check it it contact to negative ecu body ground also the other pin what do you think

What are you using to melt the solder ?

I've got one of these ECU's and my part number is becoming very hard to obtain a replacement for - I only just bought the car but there are two capacitors which have clearly leaked and the areas around the base of them are black.. is that generally a sign they're too far gone? I'm in Sydney but would be more than happy to send it across the drink

Does the ic10 store the other options that usually change when you put a different Speedo in. Also, does the ic10 store the milage? Are they readily available as a chip? I usually swap just the LCD display module over from another odometer, but I've heard once the driver is faulty you need a new ic10, as you replaced here. Edit. Never mind, just read the number off the chip and can get one from chine for £8 posted. Thanks, you are a legend

Sept. 2023 watching this video. Hi. Where are you located? Do you still repair these ECUs? My XC Barina dies when warmed up. Cool the ECU and she starts again. Would it be a bad solder/bond, or an actual diode or similar problem. More to the point, would the fault be visible?

Pro tip: if you dont remove the solder from the pin pads you can get the chip to just drop in place w/ the heat gun. 😜
