    I didn’t know about the lower velocity button, so thanks for that! Another one I use a lot is if you’re editing a value with the control encoder, shift+the encoder makes it go faster. This works for scrolling projects or presets, setting the clip play length, etc. If you’re setting a measure step length, it jumps in multiples of 16 which is super convenient. Keep up the 101 content!

    Very useful! Thanks! Was a bit annoyed with going into menu to turn on and off the metronome, ...but now it's much better.

    I left this same comment in your video about updates with 1.6, but thought I would add it here as well. Hope I am not overdoing it. I promise I will not put it elsewhere. Really enjoy your informative videos.
    It looks like you actually answer questions which I can't say is the case with all TH-camrs. I am planning to use my MC-101 with my Roland DJ 707M controller in a live performance situation. I am also planning to use an Akai MPK249 to control the MC-101. To complicate the situation, I am also mixing in my MPC Live to the mix. So I want the tempo clock from the 707M to pass through the MPC Live and on to the Akai MPK249 and then to the MC-101. I have seen ways that I can use the Akai MPK249 to control the MC-101 controlling MIDI 1thru 4. I just want to make sure that I can still have global tempo control over everything. I know this is a complicated set up. Can you advise?

      Hi Gary - That is a lot of devices!!! Sounds like fun. Let me have a think about your set-up. Unfortunately I don't have that many devices or MIDI cables, but I’ll play around and I will get back to you. In the meantime, off the top of my head, I think on the MC-101 the settings you should be playing with are: Shift+Filter (to enter utility) ->"System"->"Sync Src" - I think you will need to set this to MIDI to get the clock from the 707M (in my experience AUTO seems to be really unstable). In this same SYSTEM(MIDI) menu there are Track Ch1 (to Ch4) -> by default there are set to CH1 to CH4, so make sure that the MPK is sending MIDI on each of these channels to send to a specific track. There is also new setting called “Auto Ch” - which if you set your MPK to this, it will send to the currently selected track on the MC-101. Also I think you need some sort of MIDI through enabled on everything in the chain to get the clock from the 707M all the way through to the MC-101. Thanks for watching. If I can figure a setting somewhere close to this (I also have an MPC Live, and could use a MiniNova in place of the MPK, and a Maschine+ in place of the 707M) I'll make a video as it will be probably easier than trying to explain via messages!

    Not sure what unit you have, but I don’t get any of those sub menus, for example when I press Shift I get END80 not any of the submenus or options shown, very confusing.

    Is there way to change the metronome from doing just a standard 4/4 time? For example can I change the metronome to where it’s doing 3/4 Time?

    • @teabreakbeats
      @teabreakbeats  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching
      There is not an easy way, but I've managed to hack it by:
      1)Press Tempo to enter tempo settings,
      2)scroll to master scale and change it to 1/16T (i.e. 16th note triplets) then.
      3)change master step length to 18
      The other way is the use master sale of 1/8T and master step length of 9
      Metronome will do a 3/4 time = but all your patterns will be of weird lengths (you will see them blank out of the step sequencer as pink)

    Hi teabreakbeats, very good tips, super handy I did’t no them. I’ve got a little comment, can you make your speech sound better. It sounds you are very far from the microphone.

    • @teabreakbeats

      Yes - sorry I was stuck recording on the inbuilt mic on the laptop as I was stuck away from home during lock-down. I've just moved back and will have access to a proper microphone! Thanks for watching!
