After I learned that Roland enabled patch editing on the MC-101, I took the plunge and bought one. Learned a lot from your video's, so thanks! As I am completely new to this device, I would love to see more content.
Amazing little module. I still wish I had the MC-101 to pop in a bag and take with me. Like everything it can appear really overwhelming at first, an probably makes many give up, but repeated use soon gets you into the process.
Nice! Can the Roland MC 101 edit individual drum pitch/tone/key ? I heard it could only affect all the drums at once asa pose to the MC 707 which can edit individually ?
Does anyone know if the velocity sensitivity settings of the synth editor also apply to the drum tack with drum samples (as it does in the MC-707)? I look up in the manual and I could not find any info about the velocity sensitivity settings from the tone/synth or drum tracks.
Hello from France. Execuse my english. I have a question. In partial when I change matix 3. Matrix 4 change to the same parameters. Matrix 3 and 4 are link. So there is only 3 matrix. What can I do to unlink matrix 3 and 4 ? ??? Thank you
Hi, thanks your videos. I have a question. is it possible to edit midi notes in ableton? Recording midi notes from Ableton has already been done, but the midi notes of the mc101 have not yet been transferred to ableton. Do you have any ideas to extend the workflow in some way? Thanks
Hey! I would love to see how you connect the Maschine and the 101 to your DAW to use the Maschine. your controller and play all the sounds from the Maschine and the 101. Or would you use a software version of the Maschine and Roland sounds to be used in your DAW???
hi, I did the update to 1.81, actually on the home screen "version 1.81" appears, and I have new functions such as the virtual analog synth. what i don't understand is why i have to do the factory reset. is needed for what? in the manual it is in fact indicated as step2 but I really don't understand what changes....
Hi - I think you only need to do the factory reset if you are having issues. Otherwise, it is fine not to factory reset after update. Thanks for watching!
Hello, thank you for your great video. I just bought an mc-101 and I have a novation launchkey mini mk3. My intention is to sequence and edit note tracks with the launchkey. I connect the midi output of the launchkey to the midi input of the 101, select a note type track, assign it to midi channel 1, select channel 1 on the 101, but I don't get any results, nothing sounds when I press the keys on the launchkey. What am I doing wrong? Thank you very much.
First, make sure your LK Mini is emitting on MIDI channel 1 (Shift+Transpose and press top-left pad). If nothing happens regardless what you press on LK Mini, you probably use wrong MIDI to mini 3.5mm adapter. Make sure it is Type A as explained in the LK Mini User Guide.
I bought one of these things years ago and returned it. I should have kept it due to all the great updates but I now have the MC-707 which is just much better for my purposes. The 101 is NOT kind to batteries at all. you might get a good 2.5-3 hours of heavy use out of it...maybe 4 if you're not breaking atoms and pushing the envelope (NPI). The other thing is that little 2-line LCD display - I hated that thing - WAY too much info and menu-diving. The MPC 500 suffered this same fate. I wished Roland would offer an optional OLED screen or someone would create a screen replacement services so you can see what's going on without scrolling through 39 pages of functions and controls. Still - a LOT of power packed into a box the size of a Volca. The MC-101 still kicks butt though.
This thing gets deeper and deeper the more I look. I’m buying it

Just wanted to let you know, you are hands down the best MC-101 resource I have watched. Roland should hire you!
Thanks for the comments! If only I could work for them! that would be awesome

great to see that they still update this device.
I know, it’s so much better than when I first got it! I hope they don’t stop with the updates. Thanks for watching
@@teabreakbeats thanks to you too, love your videos.
Excellent clear video, I find it pretty wild what this tiny thing is capable of. Regarding the deep dive question, yes please!
Thanks Jamie- I’ll add it to my list of videos to make, hopefully I can find more time to make videos in 2023!
Thanks teabreakbeats. As always an excellent informative video. I especially like the new external motion and arp feature.
Thanks - can't wait to hear how you make use of it in your future tracks!

roland mc 101 is ❤️❤️❤️
It’s my fav little groovebox!
Can you make a video as simple as going through of all the Metronome types on the MC101 please?
Very helpful thank you!
Nice thanks for sharing!
No problem! Thanks for watching
Please make a dedicated video for the synth editor , it’s quite confusing 😅

I try to download the latest driver update on the Roland page but the link is broken. What I can do?

You have the best mc101 videos. Just a question: is there a way to hold the scenes tab in place so to change scenes easier with one hand?
Press clip + sequence :) Probably found out now after two months but hey :D I use that ALL the time :)
sik updates - look forward to trying them out!
Thanks for watching
Looks fun, would it be a good combo with a sp404mk2 ?

Thanks for watching to the end!
@@teabreakbeats I often use automation, is it possible for show automation Params of a track without recording ?
Здравствуйте! Скажите пожалуйста,а в нем есть огибающая ADSR? И как ее там включить? Спасибо)

Hello, does the mc 101 have sequencer randomizer or just patch only randomizer ?
It has a randomize sequence (but you have to hold a button combination - it is not permanent) see th-cam.com/video/0danjCS_6tk/w-d-xo.html
@@teabreakbeats thank you
Deep dive please!!!🙏
I've added it to my to-do list! Thanks for watching
Crazy they pushed this the day after I sold mine because it lacked features they added, now I'm on the opz
How is the OPZ treating you? Was always a bit daunting without a screen
@teabreakbeats it arrived today, and so far I absolutely love it! It was definitely the right switch for me.
The OP-Z, oh man what a downgrade 😵💫
OPZ😂 Just like Apple... way too expensive junk
I have v 1.80, is there any difference with v 1.81? I don’t seem to notice any. Thanks for all your super helpful vids!
Hi - I think there was just a small bugfix between 1.81 and 1.80, no major feature differences. Thanks for watching!
@@teabreakbeatsthank you!

Is there a way to copy scenes?
