Cableguys, your tutorials alone are worth the complete bundle price of your plugins. So many clever tricks to learn from these and I'm sure there are many more coming.
Not only do you create amazing plugins, but you also have full mastery of your subject. What a twelve-minute masterclass! Thank you for all the insightful tips.
i hit like on default on Cableguys stuff! You, gust always extra deliver in both tools and wisdom that goes way beyond the capabilities of those tools! 🙌
I love you so much. I was about to write something technical like wow the clap tip blew my mind but fuck it. Ive been making music for 15 years now and this is pure gold. Thank you.
It's funny because whenever i design my own snares in a synth i always make them with a little volume dip between the transient and the tail. Whenever i see videos of producers making snares, mainly for DnB they always just make a snare that looks like a sausage.... But they do sound a lot better with that little volume dip.
Totally agree. Drums gotta have some human layer one way or another. Unless the goal is that horrible Belgian Jump up, where every snare sounds like a short distorted whitw noise 😂 My secret: make.decent tonal kick and snare with Serum and layer with real (tuned) sounds ❤️
Mad tricks, this time shaper on the snare to reshape its pitch ! !! Really some great idea that dont come to mind easily... so much possibilities in there
TH-cam algoritms getting crazy. I just stumbled on this by accident today while playing with drum sounds and now youtube offered me your video. Are they sneaking my DAW :D
smash the body hard you say? lol jokes aside, i love the envelope tip. one thing i do with drums sometimes, say a kick, is HPF it up to 200-500, then add distortion & layer that back in with the original kick. parallel distortion i suppose, but i leave the attack transients & low frequencies alone.
We need patterns and random algos so SnapBack doesn’t hit each time with the threshold.. it’s supposed to make drums alive but as they hit each time they become boring again. Make it 1 transient over 2, first transient only, last transient only, etc
Damn I could have multiple instances of SnapBack on one sample in Bitwig and have it automatically round robin its way through them , giving me a diferent feel every hit.
I love shaperbox but for some reason when I use it and close out of it. After a certain amount of time if I open it again the whole DAW and shaperbox screen freezes for like a full minute before actually opening. Any solutions??
Can I trust Shaper box 3? Shaper box 2 wont remember my settings when I reload a project. Can you imagine how frustrating this is when I've used loads of instances in a project, and I have to go and correct every single one?
That's not a rimshot. It's called a cross-stick or rimclick. Rimshot sounds completely different. th-cam.com/video/5xylPPqiqzc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CKRmt4E5IOuFAPoR
@@Cableguys Didn't want to come across as rude but the plugins perform poorly in Ableton because of the latency compensation issues. Hence, giving a ton of timing issues in the tracks. Dan Worall made a video on it as well.
@@FeathersX Latency is compensated well in Ableton (as in all the other DAWs we've tested - Cubase, Bitwig, Logic, FL Studio, and Pro Tools). Each handled plugin delay compensation (PDC) effectively. And yes, Ableton Live has an ongoing issue that affects plugins relying on position-based processing after a latency-inducing plugin. While audio blocks are compensated correctly, position-dependent processing (e.g., beat-synced LFOs) can still be misaligned. For our plugins, such as ShaperBox and Kickstart, this can be worked around by using audio or MIDI triggering instead of relying on position information.

Simple clap envelope blew my mind
It's simple and effective 🤯
This is basically a mini master class on good drum programming 🔥
I would even say a "condensed master class". Lot of things to dig/unfold here.
I think most useful production channel in TH-cam. Real PRO tips about real topics.
Cable guys have the best tutorials.
Thank you! ❤️
Great plugins too!
Precise, consize, lot of examples, creative... One of the best electronic drums programming video I have seen in a long time !
So great to hear, thanks! - Joe
Completely agree. Great video man 💪🏻
Wow.. the bass sidechain to ride-trick is so amazing!

Oh man, I love the time-shaper pitch variation technique.... Didn't think of that one!
The tempo, originality of tricks and overall quality is top notch.Although i use a lot of drum tricks allready, this is a rare find. Good stuff man!
Not only do you create amazing plugins, but you also have full mastery of your subject. What a twelve-minute masterclass! Thank you for all the insightful tips.
Thank you, much appreciated! - Joe

That first snare sound was crazy, haha
Shaperbox is my number 1 essential plugin. I own thousands of plugins, so that's saying a lot!
Wow, awesome! ❤️
This is awesome

4:39 Joe, “level up your tracks by at least 137%” is DAMN DOWNPLAYING THE TRUE POTENTIAL 😂👌
bass sidechain trick blew my mind.... there are lotta things to learn huh....
Oh this is coolest advice 2024!
love it thank you
You are welcome!
You rock man
2:31 alone I want a song based off that!
Awesome!

At this point I buy the plugins as an appreciation for the lessons
This is insane
5:45 convolution reverb does this well
🧙♂️
My big question is - why aren't you releasing breaks tracks? The genre needs bangers like the grooves you're playing here?
Make it a Cableton Christmas 🎄 🎉
Ho ho ho!
I like how some of the earlier tips keep cropping up on the grooves later on in the video
My biggest takeaway from this video is audio mode.
Helll yeahhh
I'm still waiting for curve 3 to come up❤
Immensely helpful. Be ace to get that get reactive bit done over in Logic Pro for Dummies.
Nice

Hello what plugins i use if i change vocal like kids or chimp phunks and more what do you recomend
0:28 is that a dodgeball?
LMFAO
Busywork’s is punching the air right now probably
When you select the Arc Pen, how did it default to that 'U' shape, mine looks like a 'W'

cool promotion

12:25 ¿¡Timbaland wya!?
Eyyyyyyyy
Why 137%?
I know it’s a joke, but why did you pick that number?
Oh this is an ad...
Don't forget to process it with some analog gear and console :-)

Optimize it for Ableton first, then brag all you want
lol what?
What do you mean?
