Smart man. I’m 64, worked since I was 10. This world plays a cruel joke on us. Work, save money, retire in bliss, lol. Here’s what happens. Work, save money, become debt free, get able to retire, then you hurt so bad or are too tired to enjoy it, ugh!
I love the fact that this guy had all the money and skills he needed to make the fanciest counter ever, but he just cut a piece of 5/8" plywood and covered it with epoxy and called it a day.
It sounds like he had the wrong kind of people hanging onto him and buying stuff to impress people (he "had the big house..".) is just self sabotage. So he figured it out and doesn't need to impress anyone now. Good for him!
Retired Army here....man is literally doing what I'm in the middle of building ... i picked up a 8ft flatbed 2020 Ram 2500.. engine popped .. getting a new one as we speak under warranty and picking up the truck camper end of October.... Ski Bum and BoonDocker going full time this winter through next year than traveling internationally for summers
Imagine being a vet, serving your country and being rewarded with a blown engine on a brand new car. The shitty automakers of this country ought to be ashamed at the crappy products they produce, with inferior materials and planned obsolescence designed at every stage.
Be careful with all the emissions if your Ram is a diesel. Hopefully you are in a state where you can delete it, since international fuel (Central & South America) can mess up the diesel emissions 💩
@@shanezenmusic That's the problem with newer trucks. Most of them are trash even the brand new Toyota's are a total disaster now. If going with a rig that needs a diesel motor I would get an early 2000's model truck. Ford F-250 or better yet the 350 non dually with the bulletproof 7.3 motor. I would consider the same for Dodge that had the 5.9 I-6. Just extended cab 8' bed. I would rather at some point rebuild a motor like that then deal with modern garbage.

I was the same way 2 years ago. Best year of driving truck in 12 years. Had a stroke and was medically retired forcloser wife passed away, and now bankrupt. And haven't given up
Larry is a smart man. I'm actually former construction management and that field will kill you if you let it. I quit it too because I couldn't handle the stress. Owning a small business is stressful enough, but at least it's on my terms. Larry, great job n your rig. Love the understated decor and your pooch is adorable!
I’m a subscriber of Larry’s channel. He puts out a video every Tuesday evening. Always fun and relaxing to watch. Mason is the star right along with his new puppy, Marty
I owned a chain of retail stores, made a grip of money, bought a house 20 years ago which is almost paid off. I just got plans for an ADU which will pay more than my mortgage and I CAN NOT WAIT to live this lifestyle!!!! Good for this guy!
Congrats! That's a big feat. I car camped in my Camry last winter for 7 months and had to stay with family this summer. Hoping to solve the problem of how to keep cool next year. 'Bout to hit the road again!
Thanks Bob for another interview with a fellow Nomad. He learned early not to kill yourself working cause a grave isn't a good place to explore. I loved his improvements on his older camper and he seems happy. See you on your next video.
I'm so glad he discovered he needed to do something in his life to enjoy his life that had nothing to do with how much money he made. I find his explanation of why, what & how an encouragement to all men and women who have the same experience. Thanks Bob & Larry!
I watched Larry give a tour of his Geo Tracker camper with Brian of Off-Grid Backcountry Adventures! Very smart man tempered with a healthy amount of common sense!
I thought that was him. He seems like a really nice friend to have. Happy for Brian and his pup to have Larry and Mason in their lives, what fun. They have a lot in common. I love his Geotracker it's so stinking' cute/fun looking. Cheers from Jen in Seattle.
Hey Larry and Bob. Maybe we'll see ya soon Larry, we made it to Oregon. We'll head to the coast next week, then start to work our way south. Arizona for the winter. Safe travels
Great job on that camper...the plywood table and countertop are stunning! Mason is a cutie too...😊 Thanks for sharing Larry's story, Bob. I enjoy seeing a variety of lifestyles and solutions, including his combo of home base and part-time boondocking. My circumstances would make full-time nomad life undesirable for me, but Larry's solution is much more appealing and attainable! Happy travels!
Great video. Great rig. Amazing guy. I went and subbed to his channel after this. I agree with what he said about Arizona. A sign in my trailer (my home base) says "I wasn't born in Arizona but I got here as fast as I could." It's great to have a home base, especially as an older solo snowbird. I go camping in my SUV, mostly in AZ. Thanks for another gem, Bob.
awww Mason hanging on to his every word! yes, career will kill ya if you let them ! go and enjoy the next chapter in your life! it will wealthy in adventures! way more meaningful/fulfilling - enjoy Larry! thanks Bob for the video
I wish more townships acted like your construction gig. It would be really nice if people worked like that, the power to come and go as you please and then work whenever you want.
Knowing some contractors though, they will do a couple good jobs, and then find someone that they know they can scam (happens all the time with contractors) and then they'll just skip town.
I’m a subscriber of Larry’s channel. He’s awesome to watch with Mason and Marty. Truly enjoy his outings with his rigs. Setting my goals to do the same.
He did a great job remodeling the camper. It’s so stressful being self employed & running businesses. I can relate, except for making over a million. 😝 It was so freeing to sell everything & buy an old RV. Simple times. One suggestion-get an inflatable cushion that fits between the pickup roof & the bottom of the cab over.
Always enjoy hearing folks' stories and seeing their rigs. I would also enjoy hearing about how the people you interview spend their days when boondocking/camping.
what a lovely man, great set up, fablous dog as well! He made some very smart choices for his life and thus found happiness. Good job Larry! Thanks for sharing and wish you many many happy adventures and experiences on the road - both Larry and Bob - greetz Jason

Yeah…and it looks great! He did a great job restoring the camper.
And it looks real nice. Too.
It sounds like he had the wrong kind of people hanging onto him and buying stuff to impress people (he "had the big house..".) is just self sabotage. So he figured it out and doesn't need to impress anyone now. Good for him!
“Camp more worry less” I need that sign
I need that t-shirt
To heck with the sign/ t shirt, I need that lifestyle!
I could make ya one. :)

2020 engine blew? Jeez
Sorry about your trouble but ty so much for your service!

You and I have seen what happens in an instant.
Absolutely!
I was the same way 2 years ago. Best year of driving truck in 12 years. Had a stroke and was medically retired forcloser wife passed away, and now bankrupt. And haven't given up
Hang in there, it can only get better after all of that. I have added you to my prayers.
Sorry for your loss.
😢
Too sad 😔 😟

I owned a chain of retail stores, made a grip of money, bought a house 20 years ago which is almost paid off. I just got plans for an ADU which will pay more than my mortgage and I CAN NOT WAIT to live this lifestyle!!!! Good for this guy!
So happy for you! I’ve been car camping in a Honda Civic for 13 months. In a few months I’m heading to the coast!!!
Congrats! That's a big feat. I car camped in my Camry last winter for 7 months and had to stay with family this summer. Hoping to solve the problem of how to keep cool next year. 'Bout to hit the road again!

A dog and fishing gear. That's what makes me happy too.
One minute in, and I had to pause to say "I really like this Larry, and I just know that this is going to be a good one 😊"
He has a utube channel too. 2 dogs now. He recently had a spooky one on with sounds in the woods.
What a great set-up! And less stress--what a wonderful example for others to follow. ☺️

That's a perfect size truck camper, has all the essentials and a great layout!
I'm so glad he discovered he needed to do something in his life to enjoy his life that had nothing to do with how much money he made.
I find his explanation of why, what & how an encouragement to all men and women who have the same experience.

That interior looks really good. And big enough for him to stand up in. Kitchen is adorable. Very tidy.
Great video and story of any person getting out of the rat race before their health is too deteriorated to enjoy life any longer.

Is the Arizona board of tourism aware of this man? I believe they should be talking to each other.
Love your intelligent videos.keep up the great videos.I will keep watching.
These are the best windows. They can be left open in the rain. I loved my truck campers. They just got hard for me to climb up into as I aged.

A quick and appealing rebuild for Larry and the adorable Mason
Great stuff 👏 keep living and loving and spreading kindness as you are.
You could put the TV arm on the ceiling, with a flip down, when you want to watch TV. That way, it will be more out of the way, during the day.💡
I’m a subscriber of Larry’s channel. He’s awesome to watch with Mason and Marty. Truly enjoy his outings with his rigs. Setting my goals to do the same.

The Guest can consider himself Lucky to have figured this out so young👍 Congrats
Always enjoy hearing folks' stories and seeing their rigs. I would also enjoy hearing about how the people you interview spend their days when boondocking/camping.
How do people keep ice-cream in vans . Is there a freezer for van life ? Do they have a van fridge for milk and tall sodas 🥤
😮
Love this comfy and sweet rig!😊
Good for him! I jumped off the hamster wheel two years ago. Best move I ever made.
I remember when I got chest pains and started planning the escape from my job. It is fun to work but it is not fun when you have to beg for time off.
thank you for always posting these videos especially in today's current economy
