Thomas rebuilt this ENTIRE Casita from the ground up! Bought for just $1900, this Casita had severe water damage and rot, requiring a complete rebuild. Thomas skillfully tackled the fiberglass, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical work needed to transform it into a work of art. His exceptional rebuild included the installation of a Dickinson heater, a new floor, vertical supports and custom cabinetry making this a remarkable labor of love.

I've seen a number of Casitas and they are nothing like this rig. What a fantastic job Thomas did! I don't envy him having to rip everything out and start from scratch, but the results are nothing short of stunning. Great job & thanks for sharing Bob & Thomas!

Wow! He did an amazing job with this build! The best part is that he never has to take it into the repair shop for warranty repairs since he built it himself, he can fix it fast and be back on his way camping again. Great video thank you!

@ChristineSlay I'd venture to say an engineer with hands on experience - that architects tend to not have. Plus he did mention some carpentry experience in regards to home renovations

I've watched a lot of builds but this one surpasses them all. A great deal of thought and planning went into this re-build, and his patience and craftsmanship really turned this into a beautiful Casita that will last a life time.

I love my 53 year old tiny fiberglass travel trailer. Mine has a popup roof section that is a real advantage in hot weather. I bought it in derelict condition and I knew I would have to totally gut it out, patch up holes in the shell, insulate, wire, custom layout and cabinets, even a new frame and axle. Fortunately other than welding the new frame (friends did that) I had all the professional level skills I needed for metal working, fiberglass repair, cabinet making, electrical and canvas work fabrication for the popup top.

Rebuilding a classic travel trailer from the floor- frame-up must be arduous and long but when you know where every nut, bolt, and wire is, the peace of mind when travelling must be worth it. Nice job.

I have been and continue to execute the corn-struction of my little 5 X 10 with a similar ethos to Thomas. I can relate to the "Am I ever going to be finished?" along with the "learned to take my time and be patient" (to paraphrase Thomas) - mainly because as problems or difficulties in "how am I going to do this?" arise they require some degree of pondering to solve. Thanks for your efforts! both of you in bringing this nifty little rig to our attention. A lot of what has gone into this Casita has already gone into my CTC. Great minds think alike! Hee.

Thank you I needed to see this. I have a chance to get a casita for $500 but it is a total good job. The only thing good on it is the axle in the frame and the body itself.. I was trying to figure out how I was going to put in the cabinetry. This just answered all my questions..
