It's 2024 and Bill is still helping. We just got our old dryer running properly again without having to buy any parts, thanks to his tips on testing and resetting the non-resettable thermal cut-off thermostat. Thank you, Bill. ❤
This video helped me immensely! I just finished repairing our 20 year old Kenmore. I wish I could thank Bill personally. God bless this man. May he rest in peace.
This video was a true lifesaver!!!! Dryer stopped working on Memorial Day weekend! I did have to replace the heating element, only to find the heat stopped after one load. Turned out to be the non resettable sensor. Thanks to this video the clothes are now drying!!!!! Can't thank you enough!!!!!
THANK YOU MR NEWBERRY ! I have 81 and 85 yr old Parents. Seniors don't like change ! Their dryer DIED, and it has been below 32 deg here in CO for weeks. They had 2 full wet loads. Dad wanted to curb it and spend $400 ! I I replace the cracked heating element and it works like the 2nd day they had it. IT IS A KENMORE 90 THEY HAVE HAD SINCE THE LATE 90'S. GOD BLESS YOU, HAVE A GREAT YEAR ,ERW.
This is an excellent example of someone willing to take the time to help other folks repair products. All of your advice was without fault. Needed a new thermal cut off. Fixed the problem. Dryer works like brand new. Thank-you for the excellent advice.
You are brilliant, Bill! After watching this vid, I was able to fix a major appliance for the first time in my life. It only cost $10 for a multimeter to diagnose that it was, indeed, the non-resettable thermostat. And after viewing your companion vid, just one whack on the floor got everything working again. Thank you for saving me $$$ and sanity.
Bill! Cheers for this extra step in diagnosis at the end. After testing everything (almost) I was scratching my head trying to figure out what could be causing this no heating issue, and it turns out it is the motor switch! I searched a lot of videos and sites, and this video of yours is the one that gave me this answer. Cheers!
Thank you Bill for this amazing troubleshooting breakdown. This just saved replacing my 30 year old dryer. I am passing on my heartfelt gratitude to you and your family, as I see that you are no longer with us. I trust you are already enjoying the fruits of your good deeds. God bless you.
Excellent video! I have one comment so that others might avoid the pain and suffering of a dull mind :-) The dryer Bill checks has no problems! My dryer's timer dial turned the dryer on but no heat came on. It didn't make sense that something that was turning the dryer on and off wasn't working. I kept rechecking the heating element and thermostats. The continuity test between the two prongs he tests on the timer dial showed that was the problem! I searched the part number on the internet and big brother Amazon had it on Prime for cheaper and quicker delivery than Sears. It worked like a charm. Thank you Bill!!
Thank’s to this video, I have fixed a 20 years old Kenmore. In my case, it was the motor switch; ants inside. May God bless the memory of this man that keep doing the good will from heaven ❤
Perfect step-by-step instructions. Non-resettable thermal cutoff was the problem. Followed to you other video on how to reset it... and it worked. After making the cutoff meet my garage floor... success! Thank you very much. For the people that don't know how to access these components... search how to access the timer on your model, or how to access the heater on your model. Lots of coverage on this out in Internet land.
Thank you Bill! This was awesome. I had checked the heating element, all of the fuses and everything was looking good! My son happened to walk by and say "I think it is the timer, the timer has not been acting right". Watched your video and sure enough, nothing happens on the ohm meter when you turn it to timed heat! Super happy, thank you SO MUCH for doing this!!!
I navigated your channel. I watched so many videos and learned alot. I can’t thank you enough. You’re a very knowledgeable, understandable and honest professional. Thanks a gain.
Bill - you are the man!! Step by step, tracked down the faulty thermal circuit breaker. Then followed your link to the absolutely ridiculous 'throw it on the ground fix' which worked brilliantly (4 throws). As others have said, saved time, frustration and $$$$. Can't thank you enough!
Thanks Bill. This is still a very relevant video. I am a lowly homeowner, but will try to repair something if I can. Dryer stopped working (no heat), so I "assumed" it was the heating element since it had gone out once before and $230+ later I had it repaired. This time I simply ordered one on the internet, installed it and nothing. Found your video, tested the coil (no problem), but one of the thermostats was bad. I slammed it on the floor a couple of times (as shown in another of your videos), and like magic it was back to working. Cleaned out the vent and everything is good to go. Thanks so much for your helpful video and saving me big bucks.
Very helpful instructions on checking key components in the dryer. My dryer had heating, but took too long to dry clothes. Your instructions helped me confirm nothing was wrong with the dryer. I went back to my extra long dryer vent and blew out lots of stuck lint (with a leaf blower). Wife is happy again.
Bill, you are a rock star of the repair world. Thanks for helping us diagnose the problem! Wish we had seen this before we replaced the heating element. Sears wouldn't even talk to us without sending out a repairman.
Very cool! My dryer was stuck in ultra high hot. I shut it off and allowed it to cool down. Then I checked the heating element and one of the insulators that separate the heater coils broke, which resulted in the element grounding to the frame inside the heater box. I corrected the broken insulator and checked the element for resistance. Element tested good. However, the thermal cutoff was not working. Using the method you demonstrated to reset it worked on the first try. You have saved me time and money. Thanks for the great video.!
Thank you SO MUCH for creating this video! Of course, the dryer stops drying at 8 o'clock on a school night while there's another large load in the washer waiting for the dryer to finish. Fast forward to finding this awesome video, and we were back in business within a couple of hours. (Most of the time was spent cleaning out the vents and the inside of the dryer - egad!) But we traced the problem to the non-resettable thermostat and had fun taking turns banging it on the floor like a snap n' pop until the continuity was restored (my husband won). God bless you for taking the time to make and post these awesome videos! You are a genius!!
Thank you for helping me diagnose my dryer troubles. I'm sorry to read about the passing of the author of this very helpful resource. I hope it lives on to help many more.
Bill - Thank you, thank you, thank you. I've bought my house 15 years ago. The Kenmore 90 came with the house. Over the 15 years, plus the years before I owned the dryer, it has never been cleaned, including the 3 foot duct. Today, I put a load in the dryer. The drum was spinning, but no heat. F 'n A!!! I did some research and discovered your video. I took the entire unit apart, cleaned it up (it seemed like a cubic yard of lint - lint was everywhere and it was thick). Then I tested all of the switches. The one that wasn't working was the thermal cutoff. I ended up using your (and the "old man's") trick to fix the thermal cutoff. It saved me $30+ dollars and having to wait a week for the part to come to my house. Awesome. Great explanation and video quality as well. Thank you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video as well as its related videos! I followed your guidance and was able to repair my Kenmore dryer's thermal fuse which blew due to a clogged vent. This saved me at least $200-$300 in a repair call.
One of the first videos I watched when my Kenmore dryer stopped heating. Thanks for taking time to share your knowledge with us. Your video helped me out tremendously. I think others have referenced that your video did not indicate where on the dryer to find the items you were testing. Not a big deal, but some of us are dealing with a large amount of ignorance. LOL!
I used this video and the video you made on how to take apart this type of dryer and found that the thermal cutoff switch needed to be reset. I threw it onto the ground three times and it reset, saving me everything except my labor. Excellent videos. Thank you very much. Needless to say, I subscribed to your channel.
I'm a mechanic by trade so of course I was going to dive right in and figure my problem out, but you sure saved me a lot of time! One of the heater element coils had a break in the wire causing an open circuit. Cost me $48.00 and no outside labor charges! Thanks!
I have an Admiral dryer and was banging my head against the wall, i had done all the steps and all checked out until I saw you check out the timer. Bingo!!!!!! Thanks for saving me money and more lumps.
Excellent video.. I didn't know where to find the timer, but was able to find the heating element with all of the thermostats! Found the faulty thermostat...purchased a $48 kit! This saved me a lot of time and labor! Thank you from this DIYer!!
Great video! I did not have any experience fixing dryers, but using this video and others I was able to fix my dryer and save at least 350 dollars. Thank you for posting!
Your video was right on. Followed your easy to follow steps and tacked it down to a sensor downstream from the heating element. Smacked the sensor off the floor and heater started working. Checking for any airflow issues and putting back together. Good clear video. Video gets right to the point, like us guys like our information.
Your video on resetting the in resettable upper thermal cut off worked perfect. I threw it down on the concrete as directed and it reset and now my wife is happy and thinks I actually might be worth keeping around...
Bill, thank you for your informative and very detailed videos! It helped me fix my dryer and it's never been hotter. Something I wouldn't have done on my own if you didn't make it look so easy. Haha. Also, after watching a few of your videos, I would never have known about cleaning the inside! It was so bad, I filled an entire vacuum bag. Thank you. You probably saved us from a fire as well!
Thanks a lot. I Was able to narrow down the issue with the help of your video. Heater cutoff was triggered and I was able to reset it using your special technic. Funny thing is that the dryer stoped working 2 weeks after opening it to change the belt tensioner. I believe that when I put it back in the closet, the air hose was crushed and that’s what caused the overheat. You saved me a lot of trouble and money, thanks a lot.
Just a suggestion. Some folks that shouldn't really be doing this might not wait for the whole video. I know this as I used to be "some folks" myself, lol. Maybe putting the mandatory "unplug" at the start of the video? I'd go farther and say break the circuit before unplugging. Thanks again for your help! All blessings!
Thanks for the intuitive step-by-step diagnosis guide! I used this video a year ago to fix my dryer and again this week (I think I chose a cheap replacement heating element on the first repair). Very helpful and concise both times!
O M G! Bill! You are the bomb! I replaced my heating element AND banged on the non-resettable thermostat and it TOTALLY WORKED! I had to bang on it like 10 times but it worked! Heating element was $16 on Amazon.
Bill, thank you so much. I love doing stuff around the house to save money. I followed your step by step instructions. I forgot that I had stuffed steel wool in the dryer vent hood to keep out the mice after trapping some in the basement. Then I turned on the dryer..... then I remembered the door wouldn't be able to open, and ran down to turn it off. Too late - it wasn't heating. I followed everything you suggested and it was the thermos cut off. It took longer to get the back panel off than to test everything. THEN............ I tried your secret trick to reset the thermo cut off thermostat, THAT WORKED TOO!!!! I was so excited. THANK YOU!!!
Awesome, I don't do appliance repair, but when my Kmore Elite stopped heating today, I was able to track it down after seeing this. Your video on resetting that sensor also helped.
Hello Bill, A super THANK YOU on this video. I was able to trace the defective high limit thermostat and repaired my dryer for $10. You are a pal and again thank you for making this video........ERIC
This was a great help in diagnosing the problem. The resettable thermostat went bad and your other video on how to fix it worked like a charm. Dryer is up and running now. Thanks!
Completely agree. I found out Sunday night that the drier wasn't heating up. After watching your videos, it took me a total of 15 minutes to take the back panel off, diagnose the problem, whack the thermostat on the ground a couple of times to reset, and then reassemble. Thanks for the video!
This is the best video I’ve seen so far. Trying to diagnose my dryer which has no heat. Replaced everything but the element and motor (because I didn’t check the wires first, like an idiot) but no I have a multimeter and I believe the heater is bad. My multi meter does not beep - when I check for continuity on the terminal, I get OL, but with all other parts, they appear to be good.
Dude, you're awesome. I almost gave up trying to figure it out until I found this video. It was the non resettable thing. I watched your other video and threw the thing on the tile...worked my first try! Thanks so much.
Thanks to your video (and a few like it) we are drying again, instead of just tumbling clothes at room-temperature air. Our Kenmore differs from the one in your video, so I had to extemporize, to solve how it comes apart. Don’t know why anyone would design these things so that you have to disassemble the entire unit to get at the thermistor, but you do. An opportunity I suppose to vacuum the insides. The thermistor itself was only off by two units on my multimeter, but that was enough to prevent the heating coils from coming on. Luckily I was able to find an outlet willing to put parts in a bucket while I stood well back from the door. Thanks for saving me a couple hundred dollars on a service call (during a pandemic) or worse yet, a new dryer.
Thanks Bill. First time using a digital multimeter but I set it like yours was set and followed along check the parts. Found out my heating element was bad. Got a new one ordered. Cost me about $20. Thanks again.
Thanks for video. I followed along and did all tests, and watched the motor switch video. Everything is testing ok. Not sure what else to test before I start putting it back together. The symptoms are as you mentioned: no heat, but spins just fine
Thank you so very much! With your video, I easily found the bad thermal cutout resistor and used your video on how to reset it! Cost me nothing more than 20 minutes of my time. I was thinking that I was going to have to buy a new dryer.
Excellent video! Nice step by step with links to further details. Real life savers. My dryer stopped heating on Sunday evening and after a couple of hours I had it back up and running. Thanks!
Thanks, Bill. You saved me. Our dryer's "non-resetable" thermal cut-off thermostat had tripped exactly as your example in the supplemental video. It only took me one *thump* to re-set it. :)
Thank you for posting your videos, Bill. Our dryer stop heating New Years Day. Watched your videos and discovered my non ressetable thermolimiter not working. Tossed it on the floor a few times and good as new. Lint was backed up in the venting within the dryer so air not circulating. Ordering some new lint and blower vent seals to get the blower vent working like 1998 again. You saved me some hard earned money and wanted to say thank you and Happy New Year!
Thanks, Bill! You saved me from calling a service guy. Was able to use your resetting trick for the thermostat and get my dryer working again! You rock! :)
Thanks a million bill! This saved me so much money. I had actually already called someone and they were going to come out Tuesday afternoon, but now I was able to fix it myself. You are a life saver. Thanks again.
Thank u so much for this excellent video. You helped to fix the dryer & saved me a lot of money. Instead of paying a service person or new dryer, I was able to fix for $14. Of course I had to buy a multimeter, but can’t count that :-). Having the multimeter helped me narrow down the problem, so it’s worth the purchase.
Thank you! You just saved me from buying a new washer and I can dry my clothes today! The timed dry circuit of the timer is bad but the auto moisture sensing works fine.
@@mklinger23 It sure was. Bought one online for around $75 and it's been working great ever since. Also, once mine started to go it didn't last long auto moisture sensing.
The non-resetable sensor was the problem I had with my Kenmore dryer. The exhaust flexible tubing was almost 95% collapsed in one section. I removed the non-resettable sensor and threw it hard onto the concrete floor several times until it was reset. After re-installing it, I found that the dryer was working perfectly. To be on the safe side, I contacted our local appliance store and discussed the use of reseting a non-resettable sensor and putting it back in the circuit. His answer was this: "You may have reset the sensor BUT, how do you know it will work by design down the road if a similar situation arises." He convinced me to replace the sensor! Something to think about!
Thanks for this! When tested, everything had proper continuity. I cleaned up lots of lint inside the dryer. More significantly, I also found a considerable amount of lint inside the lint screen duct (below the door). I removed as much lint as possible from every inch of the ducting: heating element box leading to the drum, lint screen duct, blower, outlet and vent pipe. After reassembly, it seems to work (heat) much better. Time will tell.
Did you need to remove the front or back panel to do this or can you get the 3 piece vacuum kit (one long flat flexible tube vacuum attachment and 2 brushes (narrow & wide) with long handles.)? Thanks
Thanks for the help! Helped me diagnose a Kenmore 800 series dryer that was running but no heat...tested the thermostats and those were all OK then discovered no continuity in the heating coil - found a break in the wire, ordered a replacement next-day via Amazon for $30 - problem solved!
Thanks so much Bill.... it wasn't obvious what was wrong, maybe I reset the thermal cutoff???? One of the wires looked 'corroded' but still passed a signal. I disconnected / tested / reconnected / and cleaned everything as I went - all the way through including taking the drum out and testing the motor. I never knew anything about dryers before... and it now works! Not sure what was broken...but it works. So, thank you very much!
Thanks for posting! After thermal cutoff tested bad, I followed that advice and reset it and it works great again! Very happy we don't have to go without laundry over the Christmas holiday! lol
Wow, this was tremendously helpful. In my case, the thermal cut-off wasn't working and I managed to reset it as you show in your other video. Thanks very much.
Sorry to hear about Bill’s passing! I want to add another thing to test if your dryer doesn’t heat. That would be the temperature control switch. Disconnect the power supply from the outlet. Open up the back panel to the switches, remove the plug from your timer switch. Set your multimeter to ohms, set your temperature switch to high. Test the blue & violet wires at the timer plug. It should read between 5-700 ohms.
Man! Gotta say, I just had this very problem. Of course I ignored the "Well I guess it's time to get a new one." comment and said "No. Let me take a look at it." Turns out the vent wasn't sealed properly and instead of getting caught in the lint screen, lint was just getting blown inside the unit. [What average user would expect that to be a thing?] Well, obviously the thermostat was tripped and after using your handy resetting the non-resettable trick, we were back up and running. And all it cost me was an hour of my time! [most of which was spent vacuuming the crap out of that thing.] Thanks!
Thank you so much for your video. Your troubleshooting helped me determine a faulty switch needed repair. Our local maker space was able to fix the switch, as there are no replacement parts currently being made for my particular model. Again, thank you!
Wow Bill, thank you so much. Believe it or not, it WAS the "non-re-settable" thermostat. Threw it on the concrete about 5 times, and it Ohm'ed out. I was about to buy a $72 heating element. Again, thanks.
Hey Bill, Just wanted to say thanks for the video as it saved me from several trips. I needed to replace the element anyway due to age, however that didn't fix it. Your video on the non-resettable thermo cutoff. LOL great trick!!! That was the problem all along.
I had a Hotpoint dryer with this problem. I tore it apart and all the resistance values were perfect. I was fortunate to find a wiring diagram in an envelope inside the control header with a trouble-shooting guide specifically calling for 240V at the heating elements. With power on, I found I only had 120V at the coils. I traced the problem back to a loose circuit breaker at the main power panel. The first thing you should check is that you have 240 volts at the dryer outlet. In this case, the motor still ran with only 120V available, making me think the problem was inside the dryer.
I cleaned out the blower and ducting and then tested the components for continuity as shown in the video and found them to be all good. The dryer still did not heat so I gave up and, figuring it was something other than what I had tested, asked my wife to go ahead and call a repairman. He came out and replaced the cycling thermostat and thermo fuse (both of which I had tested) and charged us $188 ($70 for the parts). Astounded, when I got home from work I tested the old thermostat again and it passed the continuity test. Ebay charges a total of $7 for these two parts. I feel like I did everything right but still got screwed.
It ended up I was only getting 120 out of 240 volts to the plug. One of the fuses had blown. This caused the dryer to work properly in every single way except the heating part.
Exellent video! Thanks! In my case I tested all the components mentioned in the video and it's still not heating.. So I have one more thing that is worth mentioning. This is a 220V appliance. The motor runs if just one leg of the 220 is active or on 110 volts only. That happened in the past. In that case changing the circuit breaker in my sub panel fixed it and it started heating/working again. But now I tested all the components in the video and all are working, and I also tested the wall outlet and observed 110 between the neutral and each leg, and 220 between the 2 legs .. everything seems OK.. But I am thinking maybe it's only OK because there is no load while testing voltage- and that it may not have a good enough contact once more current is passing. I should also mention that while the plug for the dryer doesn't fall out, it is not as tight as one would expect. So my next course of action will be to replace the wall outlet plug and see if that makes a difference.. Will try to followup with my results... Thanks again Bill for this great video! (1 hour later) I discovered there is ANOTHER 220 volt outlet in our laundry room - beside the washer.. Plugged the dryer there and presto -- works... So in my case the problem is the dryer power outlet (which I will replace as soon as possible) but the kicker was that the voltmeter test suggested the outlet is OK.. I guess my theory about it not working under load turns out to be true..
+Bill Newberry Hey Bill Thanks! Actually I haven't replaced it yet. I just plugged the dryer into the other 220 outlet and it worked. A bit tricky to get the cable there because it's around the washer - (tied a rope to the cord so I could pull the plug to the outlet after pushing the dryer up against the wall) Since I ran all the tests you mention in your video I figured the only thing left was the outlet so I looked for another outlet and found it. Never noticed cuz it's behind the washer. Might've been interesting to have a meter on the "bad" outlet under load.. Not really looking forward to the electrical work. The wires in the box are heavy and old, and the box is small. When I pulled out the socket I noted it has push-in terminals rather than screw terminals.. For some reason I like screw terms better.. Anyway I'm optimistic the new outlet will do the trick.. Thanks for the reply!
This video was a great starter for me. I actually ended up fixing my problem by opening the timer and cleaning the contacts. The big red wire that goes from the timer dial to the heating element was the only one corroded! Almost dropped hundreds on a new dryer.... ended up costing me a piece of sandpaper and about 15 minutes!
Thanks Bill very good clear instruction. I thought my exhaust thermistor was faulty as it does'nt have continuity.- No heat on our Kenmore HE2 dryer until I found that you have to check for a specific ohms reading. control panel showed NO fault codes previous or present, I had had some electrical work done and my mains breaker panel had been re arranged and it turned out that I was only getting 120V to dryer everything worked except heat. providential because I stripped the whole machine and inside the exhaust system must have been stuffed by the previous 'family' a 6"x6" fabric pot holder which blocked the pipe and had backed up two fistfulls of lint, but for this initial wiring mistake I would not have found this. 240 V now everything works fine.
Brilliant! Started by replacing the semi-kinked, semi-clogged vent pipe then tested the non-resettable thermostat, removed it, slapped it on the tile floor, replaced it and Bingo! - working dryer. Thanks...
It's 2024 and Bill is still helping. We just got our old dryer running properly again without having to buy any parts, thanks to his tips on testing and resetting the non-resettable thermal cut-off thermostat. Thank you, Bill. ❤
Same with ours!! Thanks Bill! It took a few times to reset the non resetting thermal cut-off switch but it totally worked!
This video helped me immensely! I just finished repairing our 20 year old Kenmore.
I wish I could thank Bill personally. God bless this man. May he rest in peace.

Sir, i know you're not here with us anymore, but I wanted to thank you for your video . I'm fixing to make you proud ! RIP ❤
My work clothes were all wet... used the trick to reset the non-resettable...back in business! Now off to bed for work in the morning. Thanks so much!
Unfortunately, Bill passed away in October of 16..I'm sure his family is still happy to see him helping people to this day.
😥 Definitely still helping
Helped me out big time! RIP 🙏
How?
May god have him in his glorious kingdom..🙏

Thanks!
Awesome Job!

Subscribed because of how many easy to follow steps you threw out in such a short amount of time. Great video
Great video! I did not have any experience fixing dryers,
but using this video and others I was able to fix my dryer and save at least
350 dollars.
Thanks. Did the cleaning, about 75% clogged. After that, did the testing and found the fuse was the issue. Probably saved me $150. Thanks again!
Dude. I like how you make your videos. They are maybe a bit fast for novices, but they can rewind and learn. Thanks bro.
I'm joining the 2024 club that this video saved me lol Turns out my coil had a break in it. Thanks Bill!
Awesome!
This is the FIRST video that I have seen that addresses the cent switch in the motor for the heat circuit. Good Job!!! Mark@Appliance Service
Thanks!
Thank you Bill! Non-resettable is now reset! Great stuff!

That's the exact issue I'm having. I don't know if you'd remember at this point but it was the timer for you?
@@mklinger23 It sure was. Bought one online for around $75 and it's been working great ever since. Also, once mine started to go it didn't last long auto moisture sensing.
Sooo incredibly helpful. Thank you. The trick to reset the unresettable switch worked like a charm.
Thanks for great advice. Reset by throwing on the floor. Three tries and got continuity. Total expense was about $10 for a new multimeter.
Reset trick on T stat was awesome; worked like a charm
Thank you for sharing what to check. Had a bad heating element. Saved me a lot of money.
Thank you very much. I was broke with no pay to get service and that fixed it. Thank you again, God Bless!!
Bart Ryun Awesome! Glad I could help
Your videos are very good.I couldn't save my dryer. But I might learn something from your vids one day.
Best how to videos on TH-cam! R.I.P. Bill Newberry!! You will be missed!!
Thanks Bill, your tips helped out, and the thermostat reset worked like a charm.
Thanks so much for the video! I just got my dryer back into service by swapping out the timer following the troubleshooting tips.
thanks for sharing this. I found it today, ordered the element and will install it tomorrow! Very much appreciate your video!
Great video! The trick for resetting the thermal cutoff totally works!
Awesome video. Thanks for also showing how to reset the fuse! Worked like a charm!
+Ram Miller Awesome!
+Bill Newberry
Bill, once you reset the thermal cut-off using your technique, is it good as new, or should I get a back-up?
i would like to thank you so much for your video,it worked and my husband fixed the problem thank you as you saved us from purchasing a new dryer...
[What average user would expect that to be a thing?]
Well, obviously the thermostat was tripped and after using your handy resetting the non-resettable trick, we were back up and running.
Excellent! I was able to diagnose and fix the non resettable thermostat cut-off fuse in my old Kenmore 90 series dryer from this and the linked video.
Just minutes ago I fixed our dryer thanks to this video and the one on the unresettable resettable fuse. Thank you brother!
Hey Bill, Just wanted to say thanks for the video as it saved me from several trips. I needed to replace the element anyway due to age, however that didn't fix it. Your video on the non-resettable thermo cutoff. LOL great trick!!! That was the problem all along.
Thank you so much. Because of this and your other video, I was able to fix my dryer tonight.
you sir are a life safer. bad thermo cut off was the culprit here. easy fix. thanks again
Thanks man! Just finished fixing mine after resetting the thermostat!
Same thing is happening to me right now. If I figure it out I will post the results.
It ended up I was only getting 120 out of 240 volts to the plug. One of the fuses had blown. This caused the dryer to work properly in every single way except the heating part.
I know your post was 2 years ago, but put back in the old fuses and see if the dryer works and if the tech was screwing you over.
+bitskeptic Nice Job! That is very tricky when that happens, usually the cord is the problem. How did the outlet look when you replaced it?
Bill,
Thanks to your video another Kenmore back in action!!!
you SAVED me from spending $$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!
Great JOB
Rob.
Thanks...
And you didn't make a video?
E. Michael Brandt Yeah I want to see some of you guys slapping these on the ground! Post video responses!
