I'm shocked how you didn't mention how adorable and amazing King Shark is.This version of the character is one of my favourite fictional characters. The only 2 criticisms I have with this film are: 1.)The pacing where Harley Quinn was captured wasn't good and it felt useless and I think it was only included to add more Harley Quinn to the film and to subtly include the Joker. 2.)Though very adorable and overall fantastic, King Shark didn't contribute much to the actual mission.Amanda Waller mentioned multiple times in film how he was a demi-god and how he's vital to the mission but we never actually saw why.I would've improved this by having starro's heart impenetrable to the rats which add some final tension to the ending and then at the last minute, King Shark jumps in and devours Starro's heart. 1.)This demonstrates the power of King Shark 2.)I found crazy how a Shark God had little to do to stop a Starfish God. 3.)This would've been a really satisfying way to conclude the running joke of King Shark been hungry. P.S Did you know the scene where Peacemaker goes to kill Ratcatcher 2 and then cut to 8 minutes earlier you can actually hear Bloosport drop floor to floor and the blood on the dove's neck symbolised his defeat
Ooo I like your little edit with King Shark's arc. It would've been pretty funny and dramatically fulfilling for his "nom nom" stuff to have an impact like that haha. And nooo I did not catch that Bloodsport thing in the movie actually! That's a really interesting little detail of being able to hear that alongside the blood on the dove's neck. I like what you had to say along with that cool little analysis of Bloodsport man :)
@@Machuw Thanks,much appreciated.It's disappointing how this film won't probably get a sequel to this film because it's poor box office performance.Even if we do there's a much higher chance that'll be rated 12/PG-13 rather than 15/R. The Suicide Squad 2,Spider-Verse 2 and GOTG Vol 3 are the only superhero sequels I genuinely am hyped for while all other films coming just seem to mildly interest me. If there was going to be a sequel I personally want these characters to be added to the squad: Deathstroke:It's shocking how we haven't seen him in a full live action film yet despite how beloved and cool the character is.He was in fact orginally going to be the squad leader instead of Bloodsport and Deathstroke would also increase the hype and sales for the film a lot. Killer Frost:Great character who got done dirty by the CW, deserves justice. Killer Croc (comic accurate) be a great companion to King Shark. Rainbow Raider: Make him be one of the experimented sibling of Polka-dot man played by the same actor: David Dastmalchian.He would be the total opposite of Polka-dot man been a very loud and abnoxious character. Kiteman:No explanation needed

I especially like the Rainbow Raider being played by Dastmalcian, bc I really wanted to see more of Polka-Dot-Man haha. Yeah, it sucks that it's doing horribly at the box office bc creative and wacky stuff like this should get the praise it deserves! I think there'll continue to be sequels tho despite this doing badly fiscally tho

I would disagree that starro didn't have depth. "I was happy, floating, staring at the stars" all of his rage, after being held and tortured all those years... probably one of my most conflicting villain moments ever. The funny thing about there not being a main villian is that every individual character get their own moral antagonist to fight against, usually at every chapter turn. Harley v. Silvio, Peacemaker v. Flag, Bloodsport v. General Suarez for a hot minute, and I'd even say the finale is Ratcatcher v. Starro with her finally finding her purpose in life (that scene is sooo good 😭)
Ughhh James Gunn is such a good writer 😭😭 I love how he created tensions and internal conflicts within the group. I love your insight on how each of them have their own moral antagonist tho, I didn't catch all of those!
Great video! The editing on this is just superb! I love your analysis of how the movie is kinda a critique of modern-day America. My favorite character is probably Polka-Dot-Man, because I just like underdogs lmao. But his character was so well written, and I like how he starts out as this suicidal depressed loser and is able to die happy, knowing he helped out as a "superhero" instead of a "supervillain".
Yeah, it it felt like he was just completely more comfortable with R rating, basically just going full on James Gunn with no restraints and it was great to see :D

This move kind of feels like a more light hearted version of the anime EIGHTY-SIX to me (Watch EIGHTY-SIX it's good)
