    This project is aimed at developing fairly advanced workflow using Blender, Flip Fluids addon and Davinci Resolve. The following 3 steps were used to seamlessly blend the flip sim into the ocean.
    a.) Shrink wrap modifier is used on the ocean to wrap around the flip fluid
    b.) Lattice modifier used on flip surface to flatten the edges
    c.) Gradient texture on flip surface to gradually fade into the ocean

    This is awesome, amazing work! Would you be able to share how you created the gradient on the flip surface to blend it with the ocean?

    Very nice. Sadly Flip Fluids is useless if it comes to simuating ship wake because you cant have a dynamic domain. What you did here is absolutely maximum that flip fluids can do atm. This means you can't really use it in the production as it is right now. I bet making these few seconds took you few weeks :D

    • @blendercinematic
      @blendercinematic  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Thank you! Flip has a lot of potential but is computationally intensive. The addon developers have been optimizing it over the years both in terms of multi-threading performance and ram usage along with adding new features. The addon is intuitive and once the Flip parameters are understood quite well, setting up is quick and with few simulation iterations, we can get close to the result we intended. I'll be posting more as I explore. Thank you and stay tuned!

    can you make a step by step video on how u created the wake itnteracting to with the boat i tried to recreate it but the wake doesn't look even close to yours and im using flip fluid add on. plsss helppp thank youuu

      Thank you for asking. I would be happy to share but step by step tutorial would take quite some time. I'll try for a breakdown with important flip settings first. As I find more time, I'll make more detailed tutorial. For now, please take a look at the video description for relevant information.

    Good work! I've read your tips on your workflow and it's interesting, I wonder if it's achievable in other ways. I've done something similar definitively not this dense. Check this addon: vortex fluids enhancements, since it can improve your workflow even more. Congrats.

      Thank you so much! I quickly checked out the vortex fluid enhancement addon and it seems very nice. I'll find time to check it out in detail and see if I can integrate into my workflow. Thanks again and appreciate your time for pointing me in the direction of this addon.

    Your animation is really great. However, the wave is too big compared to the boat.

      Thank you so much. I agree. This is one of the first versions and I haven’t dialed in the scale properly. I’ve been working on refining the sims over the past year. Stay tuned for the updated ones.

      Sounds good. We might need to use force fields inside flip fluids. Do you have a reference movie clip in mind to better understand the visual effect? Thank you.

    a bit of advice: at 00:06 - 00:08, the water droplets close to the side of the ship above the water don't look realistic:
    - Water particles from space show out (i mean no source)
    - the water droplet is quite big compared to the ship
    (sorry for my English 🤣)

    • @blendercinematic
      @blendercinematic  ปีที่แล้ว

      No worries. Those are water particles that leaked into the hull during simulation. I have to tweak the obstacle thickness so that fluid stays outside the obstacle. Also I enabled friction for the hull obstacle which drags water particles along. These are the ones we have to be cautious as they break the reality if closely looked at. Thank you again for pointing out those. 😄

    • @LuongSon86
      @LuongSon86 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@blendercinematic What do you think about using only the hull to run the simulator.
      I've always had trouble with Obstacle Manifolds so I usually clone the hull and fill it up (don't use thin walls)

    • @blendercinematic
      @blendercinematic  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did run the simulation on a cloned hull. However, I still have to play around with obstacle parameters and possibly up the domain resolution.

    • @LuongSon86
      @LuongSon86 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@blendercinematic my process is to make a clone of the model, taking only the parts that come into contact with water. Edit it to keep it as simple as possible. Then set it to an obstacle and run the emulator. That clone will not be rendered. Copy the animation of the clone for the main model and render with that model. How do you think?

    • @blendercinematic
      @blendercinematic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Perfect. That's how this animation was done.

    how do ya'll blenders don't freeze and crash? I'm on an i9 14900k with a 4090 and 128gb ram, my blender barely functions on 600 res fluid bakes

    • @blendercinematic
      @blendercinematic  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good question. It’s more to do with total number of voxels rather than just the resolution which in-turn depends on the domain dimensions. Although, my domain resolution is very high at around 1024, it is sufficiently thin so that the total number of voxels is still within the limits (around 50 million voxels if I remember correctly). If my domain is like a cube at such a high resolution, I can’t imagine how much ram I would need.
