With all due respect you could drop any engine part on concrete and it would probably break! Drop a cam shaft on the ground and see what happens? That is such an irrelevant test your oil pump gears are not getting slammed against anything in that pump housing! They simply spin in a machined housing and if they break there is something serious wrong!!! The aftermarket has latched onto a heart string and is making tons of money selling OPG to nervous coyote owners!

Now you have two 5.0 Coyotes with big super chargers to see who makes the best super chargers. Whipple or the VMC Odin? I can’t wait for that comparison! That race would be epic for sure. The whipple possibly might beat it top end just bc of the rotor difference and bigger liter but imo I'm more a vmp (tvs rotors) guy bc of the torque of it
I used to heat treat parts. Harder the metal the better the wear but it is more brittle. The softer the metal its not as brittle but wears out quicker. The best would be a case hardened part. Nothing wrong with the stock pump gear for everyday high mileage driving it’s probably actually better. But for boosted build I would go for a case hardened part.
Exactly!!! Bumping off the rev limiter causes the gears to bounce around inside the oil pump and fracturing the ring gear. The factory gears are fine if you understand what causes it in the first place. Like holding a Hemi at red line, you just don't do it !!! Fatal flaw due to Owner abuse more like.
This video is kinda Dejavue, I just watched a new episode of Engine Power yesterday morning about their build of a Coyote and they talked about the hardened oil pump gears they installed on the engine they built with stock crank and sleeved cylinders and running a Whipple, it ran 880hp with 780 foot pounds of torque at 17 PSI of boost!!! They still had two more super charger pulleys but didn't run them, DAMN!!!! Undertaker should be a monster Stangmode!!!!!!!!!!
I think you hit on a good idea... Doing the raised ribs on the supercharger purple and maybe a few purple touches in the engine bay could be cool. As long as its matching purple to the outside. I saw someone else try it and had a few different purple colors that don't match not a great look.. .. Love it regardless. Dream build
Just a warning Ken 731 speed addict just did a new pump swap on is 2016 mustang and at start up a noise from the oil pump. Problem was he discovered with 30000 thousand milles on the engine, he did put a new housing where the oil pump gear sit . The reason he find out the factory housing was deformed from the heat with 30000 thousand milles.
I installed MMR OPG's & CSS, when I installed my VMP Gen3R Supercharger. IMO, they were cheap insurance 🍻 BTW, I've since used Castrol 5w50 full synthetic, so was glad to hear that's what you recommend 🍻
The fatal flaw is from hitting the rev limiter, back in my day we knew the redline was where a motor blew up. If you stay off two step, limiter the OPGs stock have zero issues. Error 404 driver mod not found.

@@maximusvonce1381 actually your wrong, it has nothing to do with rwhp it has to do with high rpm and the vibration it causes inside the opg case. You can have 3000hp and shift everytime at 6,000 rpms and be totally fine. It's people with cars like mine that have a raised redine that is causing it sometimes, stay off the redline and don't slam into it and you'll be fine. Always running your car with a much higher redline then was expected at the factory or keep running into it and you'll damage a lot of things.
You should go with option A. And a shout-outs to stangmod from perris CA I'm a huge fan of your TH-cam channel. I follow you when you did the modified v8 on the hulk

Paint only the raised purple all the other purple is tucked so should pop really nice when hood is open

Stock oil pump gears are fine under high horsepower as long as you aren't banging off the rev limiter but I would still replace them with better ones.
Put it along your window Pillar driver side going upward will look really nice, or original I did it with my procharger sticker and peeepz loved it
You think if a 3v go boosted like pro charger or supercharger and 410 gears , headers, cams, and air manful you think like 9s mabey
You’d need a built motor to push more power through it. Unfortunately in and around 500 rwhp seems to be the breaking point on the 3v’s.
