    Finally get the new hoop delivered after my failed attempt to make one :( .
    I make some interesting cuts in the frame to get the look I'm after
    Enjoy!!!

    Loving the hoop install, sometimes you need to talk to explain what you are doing, some people love it and others don't cant please everyone, unfortunately, keep the videos rolling in mate :) I'm loving them as always.

      As Popeye says "I am what I am" :) and will keep on blabbing. Your scrambler is looking great! Looking forward to see the seat! 750 seat is 👍

    Awesome work Steve as always 👍 It's definitely worth the time and effort making your own seat pan, and will be a piece of cake for someone with your fabrication skills. Getting that perfect fit and style rather than using another generic eBay seat is what will set it apart. I used 1.6mm sheet steel for mine - very solid but still playable enough to roll the edges around the frame for a perfect fit 👌

    Thinking out loud Steve - if you need a little extra clearance between the rear wheel and new hoop, you could use the rear swing arm off your CJ. The CJ arm is 1" longer and would set the wheel back nicely under the up-kick, giving a good inch or two more clearance... plus a little extra stability when you go tun up on this bad boy😉

      Just pulled the CJ swing arm out. You're right! All the same except longer... I think when I send the frame out for powdercoating, will throw this into the box as well... 👍

    Great job as always man, that hoop looks a good as you could have ever hoped for! I think you should go down the route of making your own seat though. That eBay one looks stylish, but I think the added detail of getting the rim even all around the edge of the frame makes a big difference. I'd like to see you you give it a go, you've definitely got the skills to do it right. All the best 😊

      Cheers Tom. I agree, a custom seat following the frame would look pretty sweet

    The 8” measurement is the diameter or outside to outside of the straight parts and has nothing to do with the legnth of the straight parts of the hoop. You have to cut them to length anyways. I just bought a bender to make the hoops. It was a significant sum of money. What they charge online for those hoops is a good deal.

      Hey Wayne, actually in this case it was *sold* as 9" length x 8" diameter. The seller offers them in different lengths. I think I got the scrap of the pile. I didn't even mention the plugs he gave me that were different diameters and didn't fit either... But yes, I was glad it worked out and the round part was good :) Send me your info I'll get them from you from now on 😃
      Cheers!

    What type of welder are you using?

  • @christran6437
    @christran6437 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Steve. What type of welding was it that you used? I have zero experiences with welding and it would be so useful around the shop if I knew a thing or two about it. I've been watching welding videos as well as reading up on the subject recently. Thanks in advance and hope to see your response.

    Idk i like the looks of the seat. That seat & a bare metal tank and high pipes.. 🤔 hmmm...

    • @Beachmangarage
      @Beachmangarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I don't think I'm gonna go bare metal on this one.... it'd be pretty wrinkly 😀

      That is the downfall of the cafe racer conversion. No road trips on the menu 😁

    Why didn't you just buy the hoop with the up-sweep at the end.....?......Would be exactly what you described as perfect.

      Bunny Duck the upswing is a bit higher on the pre-bent pieces (at least the ones I’ve had) but yes, may have been easier.....
