- I have been looking for the right Stereo to install in the van for a while. I want to convert the dash to accept a double din head unit mainly so I can run a backup camera. I didn't want to spend too much money but I didn't want to buy junk. I went with a BOSS BVCP9700A stereo that has apple car play and a nice internal amplifier. In this video, I just unbox it, hook it up and go through all the features and test out the audio. I wanted to make sure everything worked before installing it. So far I would recommend this head unit and think it's a great value. Hope this video helps and thanks for watching!

I bet you'll have the sweetest sounding system out of all the vanlife builds. Imagine being kicked back on a rainy day with full surround of your favorite music playing softly enough to hear the rain while you watch outside all those windows.
For sure! Doing an under seat subwoofer also, the internal amps will power 4 speakers then another external amp to power the other 2. Probably tactile transducers also. Chilling in the van during a rain storm is a dream come true
I own this Radio and have had it for awhile now phone calls are clear sounding plenty of power for music overall a great purchase
Good to hear a long term review, seems like a solid radio for the money, not to cheap where its junk but not too expensive where its hard to justify the price

I am looking for a high top at the junk yard to put on my van possibly. can't wait to install the stereo but need to weld in some patch panels first. also consider a security system, i'm not sure if the the 07 has a key chip or not but our vans get stolen a lot. i'm looking at a compustar system

Yeah thats a cool idea for sure, probably some rca device that that plugs inline. Im doing a backup camera for this one and then a separate system that goes next to the bed that uses 4 cameras and a camera switcher

I'm not a fan of the ones with the ir illuminators behind the protective glass because it would cause glare at night

By any chance did you test the sound quality on phone calls when using the bluetooth? Trying to decide on a double din unit to replace my current one
not yet but will when I install it. probable not bad since it comes with an external mic
EULA End User License Agreement. Its a toggle switch so maybe its a way to turn off that warning screen when you first turn on the stereo?

im thinking about getting this but im hesitant to switch from a knob to a click to change the volume is there a faster way to turn down the sound. just in case a cop pulls up and im subbing to loud lol please lmk t.y and enjoyed the vid!!!!

no unfortunately not with apple car play, I think it's a safety thing they don't want you driving and watching stuff
I found this radio on clearance at Walmart for $100. Bluetooth works but CarPlay would always disconnect randomly. I would constantly have to replug my phone. Any ideas on fixing it?
try a different iPhone cable
I'm curious how you like it during the day? I installed this in my Tundra and really hate it during the day. It's not bright enough and has tons of glare. :(
Darn, heard it being too bright at night, havnt installed mine yet but I will have window tint which will help, also probably helps were its installed, mine will probably will be recessed slightly in the dash which helps

@@4WheelKid I just bought mine from Walmart , it does not come with remote. But was wondering if a universal one from BOSS will work. I dont see a IR sensor in front of radio🤔

yeah the wireless kind is much more expensive. yes it charges it while plugged in

I'm not sure,. ill have to check, I'm sure it has one for the subwoofer low level output

Yes it does, front, rear and subwoofer

Should be able to plug in a data cable to the proper usb port

Any idea how to get it to automatically turn off when the car does… I’m almost positive if I don’t manually turn it off, it’ll stay on forever😂
depends on how how you wire it, there is a constant line which keeps the clock from loosing time and there is a switched line and it powers off when that one looses power
