I have that stereo too, it's nice. I put a wireless adapter on mine, so I don't need wires. I also added a wireless charging phone cup holder, so I defeated the need of the USB charging or wired Apple Car Play. In my 1/2 din extra space, I put a Clarion EQ, for controlling the output level of my PDX-V9, and my subwoofer level, which is a 2-10" molded subwoofer box in my trunk. Hip Hop music is no problem. The Boss was the perfect fit for my Wrangler TJ. It floats, so it won't block my AC vents in front. Awesome Stereo.

which wireless adapter are you using man?
@@maraud3r I brought the Teeran Android Auto Wireless adapter on Amazon. It has been flawless for me. It comes in black or white. I don't think I can place links to other websites here though.

That black connection with the female input is for the BT microphone for hands free calling. Yours may have come unplugged

Does the camera turn on automatically when you shift into reverse?
Looks like you might off-road a bit, does it rattle? if you're on rough roads especially, like forest service roads that are poorly maintained...
I do off road sometimes. I live in WA state there is lots of forestry out here. It doesn’t rattle. Part of it could be that I had proper mounts and it secures really good into the mount that it has even though the mount that the screen is inserted into is small and at the center it holds really well so far.
Put in the description wich speakers did you install?
Mine doesn’t seem to turn off when I turn my truck off anyway to fix it
I would suggest taking a look at the wiring for the power. Could be wired to a constant power source
Yeah, it sounds like it isn't wired properly. You want it to go to ignition power. I've installed other stereos but this one was professionally installed, along with my PDX-V9.

does your shifter ever hit the boss screen? or cause you to have to change your hand position when shifting?
The screen is adjustable so I can raise it and lower it avoiding that issue 👍🏼. It’s a built in feature with the screen itself so it doesn’t require any other customization.
Does it automatically switch to the backup camera when you put it in reverse?
Yes it does!
yes it does but i for some reason cannot view my camera from the home screen when not in reverse.. it always says no signal detected. & today out of nowhere i now can see a corner of my license plate. wtf

Yes, it is the 10 in version. 9in of actual screen display

I got the mount from CarToys…don’t have the part number for it at moment
Hey man, my carplay wont work, did you end up grounding or connecting your parking brake wire in order to get it to work?
I did not end up doing anything to the parking brake…the strei itself should be grounded the wiring for CarPlay is not independent of the system. Maybe you have a bad connection for the CarPlay cable itself?
@@zenworldauto does the usb in the front work for CarPlay or is it maybe just the rear, I haven’t tried the rear, it’s tucked away in my dash.
@@zenworldauto Figured it out, cant use the USB on the front of BOSS head units, for carplay you have to use the rear one. Front is for USB Storage access only.

How does it sound ?
The stereo itself is great and the sound is clear even with the speakers I have and I don’t have a subwoofer yet. Still thinking about it but as it is currently it sounds great!
Only thing putting me off is that crap shinny screen.....why do they bother...... 2:42
Can you play TH-cam on it??
You can’t do it through Apple play or android play. You would have to get a different connector

Are you saying that music that's downloaded on utube cant be played with this stereo?
@@gailconner2285 no, you can play music from the TH-cam music app…what you can’t do is play videos from the app using Apple CarPlay.
does the stereo turn off and on every once in a while? ive had a couple of boss stereos and they always have that problem of restarting turning off and on
No I haven’t had any issues with it turning off and on while I’m driving or using it. It has been great. I turn the car on drive with no issues and it shuts off when I turn car off.
Mine does after 10in or so using Android apps / waze
@@glennmorehead14 maybe it’s the wiring…idk I honestly haven’t had any issues with mine. Even with the backup camera installed it works great.

@@glennmorehead14 gotcha, I use Apple CarPlay and works fine, hopefully you’re able to get it working smooth.
I’ve only had issues with CarPlay when my cable is in poor condition.
