    I have used the Feather AS D2 for a few months now paired with the Feather blade...best shave ever! Very well made.

    Great review Tony. Please make more. Really enjoyed watching this. I also have the AS-D2 and I think they're amazing. I also shave every day. For me it works perfectly with Feather blades.

    I use the Feather AS D2 razor and blades. Great combination. Good alternative blades include Astras.

    Ha ! I've got a Merkur 34HD, Gillette Fatboy, and a Merker Futur Clone. Just bought an AS-D2. Hope I feel the same as you !
    Thanks Tony. Good shaving to you !

    I just purchased this razor I have to say It is a really good on a two-pass shave. Probably took a couple of shaves to get used to the new angle. I wish I paid a little bit extra and got the stainless steel stand. I started with the feather blade. Had a few nicks gone back to my trusted Parker blade now it's all neat

      If you are a collector of high end artisan razors I would highly recommend the Tatara Masamune closed comb. I think it's better than the Feather or at least as good. It is extremely mild and when paired with a sharp feather blade it makes a great combination. Since you already have a Feather AS D2 you probably don't need the Tatara, but if you are a collector, for about $165 or so, it is high end and a get addition.

    I hope you do like it as much as I do. I can put a feather blade in there and "whip" through a shave. I could be daydreaming about something not paying attention to shaving and I still don't cut myself. It shaves close with the sharp blade and I don't have to be careful. Thanks what I paid $132 for.

    I think u will like it. It is high quality and I consider it "mild" . If you have a 5 day old beard, I hope it's aggressive enough. I shave every day and for me it really tamed every blade I put in there

    I would buy one for that . I was told they are $180 . I have a Merkur 38c I paid $50 for . Thanks for the video .

      I bought mine about a year ago and with a discount offer at jet.com I got mine for about $130 or less. I see they are now $180. Would I buy one now at that price ... hell no. A $50 increase (38%) in one year. Feather and the retailers can take that razor (without the blade of course)and shove it up their asses. Unless you are truly going to wet shave for the rest of your life , I wouldn't pay that amount.

    Tresar , I use to use Kiss My Face and I agree it is excellent. The only problem I had with it was the cream with stick to the blade and I couldn't get it off with just rinsing it with running water. The Feather blade with the AS D2 is a great combo , but I just didn't want to spend that much on the blades. The Polsilver at 16 cents a blade and the Personnna Lab Blues at about 11 or 12 cents a blade do a great job and both last me 7 - 1 pass shaves without any noticeable dullness. I make sure the blades are "bone dry" after each shave.

      AFS You can get the feather blades as cheaply as the other brands you mentioned if you order in quantity online. Then you can still have the feather. Lades to use with your AS D2.

    I've been using Ikon razors for years, but I am going to buy one of these Feathers in the next day or so to finally find out for myself. Thanks for the review!
    BTW...I have heard people say Timeless or Wolfman are not all that for the money, because, as we know, shaving is an individual thing.....YMMV. Hello :) lol

    I have a feather as d2, and i would say the feather blade is the best for this, and its even better if you use "KISS MY FACE MOISTURE SHAVE", its all natural (read the ingredients) and very lubricating. It helps the extra sharp blade glide.
    TRUST ME, the feather as d2, feather blade and kiss my face moisture shave combo is THE BEST.

    As a daily shaver, do you follow in your daily routine all the steps? Brushes and hard soaps? I want a become a daily shaver but sometimes I don’t feel that I can have the time for the entire routine. And, doing it daily, how many passes do you make with this Feather AS D2?? Thanks

    • @afs1476
      @afs1476  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lucas, I use a synthetic brush custom made by a guy in Canada. It cost me $28 shipped and it is the best brush that I have used (an no animals were killed) . I use a cream in a tube which I just put on my face and do a fast "face lather" . I have a video on this . My routine takes about 3 to 4 minutes . 1 pass for the face and a quick extra pass for just the chin and upper lip area where my beard is thicker. You can do this with the Feather AS D2 because it's a real "safety" razor which is very forgiving. If I use a conventional Schick cartridge razor I can shave in about 2 minutes. I have a rotation so I know how fast I shave for each individual razor.

      If you can't afford the Feather , look into the Parker 87R. I use this also and for a really cheap butterfly DE razor it works well and is also very "forgiving"

    • @lucasvela8202
      @lucasvela8202 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      AFS guess what, after I read your comment I watched your video talking about the 87R and I ordered one. The razor arrived yesterday and I tried it today!!! Wouuu you were right! What a shave I had today. As you said, is a gem. Much better than my other razors!!! I’ll try it again tomorrow!! Thanks

    You get 7 days! I can get 3 but thats pushing it. It starts to struggle too much on the 3rd against the grain pass that it hurts a little and is difficult i actually have to drop the angle in order to get it too move. Maybe I have a super coarse beard or am doing something wrong

    • @afs1476
      @afs1476  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brandon , I hear ya. The thing is , I never go against the grain. I get what I get out of 1 pass and the most daring I will go is across the grain on my neck. I use my double edge and then when it gets too tedious trying to concentrate and get the closest shave I can get out of 1 pass, I will use my modern cartridge razor for a few weeks.

    gtrmusic69 ,that's for the fine words. I only have 1 more video left in me. I have spent about a year and more money that I should have , using and evaluation razors, blades, creams ,soaps, , aftershaves and fragrances. Now that I have what I like at the price I like , I am pretty much done. I don't have much more to say except ,this is my final opinion on the stuff that I have tried. What I use now is a long way from the stuff I recommended a year ago. It will be an "authoritative" opinion from a guy who has used hundreds of different products at a great expense and is telling the viewer..........you can't go wrong with this product. Don't waste your money on the stuff that I did. The exception will be fragrances because it is just a personal preference , but I no longer buy $15 , 100 ml bottles of artisan aftershave because although they are very good , I don't want to spend the money on such a small amount that will be gone in 2 or maybe 3 months.

    Looking for a cheap DE razor that is is as mild as the AS D2 . The Parker 87 R. I think it is better than the popular Merkur 34C , I have a new go to blade . It is smooth , sharp enough for daily shaves and absolutely lasts 7 days with my daily shave.

    I question your intelligence since any review is totally subjective and there can not be a "bad" review .It's all opinion and there ar no wrong answers. These things are not fact based . They are just a person's opinion on something they have used. A review like this can't be biased since there is no other point of view to be biased of. It's just a product and if it's the "best" it just means the best that the reviewer has experienced . Get it. Learn the English language or get some brains , because you totally missed the mark on this one.

    I assume you never used Timeless or Wolfman. Both Wolfman and Timeless are far superior compare to Feather. Before you make a statement "Feather is the best" you should try Timeless or Wolfman. This is a bias review. There are also tons of better shaving Soaps than phoenix artisan... Try Stirling Soap. They make amazing shaving soaps for half the price. Sorry to say this, but this is a terrible review.
