    My sister asked what I want for my birthday. I told her, "nothing" of course. But in my head I said "A 100 pack of feather razors" lol. I'm more than happy with my Astras, but feather sure makes a nice blade.

      It seems from reading comments on various content creators about shaving that people press too hard with the razor because they’re using a semi dull blade. Then when they try a Feather blade, they continue to use the same amount of pressure.
      The absolute beauty of the feather blade is that it is so sharp one does not have to press so firmly to get the blade to cut the whiskers. This intern causes less irritation, and the blade actually last longer to get more shaves from
      Every time I see a comment about how dangerously sharp Feather blades are, I just think to myself, the blade is definitely sharper than you. 😅

    Bought it. Everything is like cotton candy 🍬 Compared to the Mühle R41 Stainless Steel, the Feather caused more irritation because it was super smooth, but not quite effortless. Maybe I need a few more shaves, but so far I’m fine, but not impressed. Awesome Video though ❤

    My daily driver for the past 5 years Geo. love this razor. I dont get along with the blades though, Astra SP, Gillette platinum are awesome. However i do have a little play in the razor head ..

    • @davesheppard8797
      @davesheppard8797 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mine has play in the head too. I sent my first one back because of blade alignment issues and the replacement isn't much better! I have sensitive skin but have to overshave with this razor to get smooth. So a more aggressive razor scraped less on my face is better. Also, with all the quality Stainless razors out there now the AS-D2 is no longer the Rolls Royce of razors. The Blackland Blackbird, or the Karve Christopher Bradley or the Masamune's are much better razors and basically any razorock will wipe the floor with the AS-D2.
      Dave.

The Razorock BBS is fairly mild but Shaves much better than my AS-D2. My Blackbird feels as close as a straight razor.

      I'm going tomorrow to look at a secondhand one. What do you mean by a little play. So if I take a razor blade with me, what am I looking for? A wobble in the screw and head or a wobble in the placement of the blade. Thanks

    It’s expensive and it requires a particular angle to be used properly which requires an adjustment to be made to technique, it is however right up there with the perfect shave for the every day shaver. 3 passes for a BBS and irritation free shave. Maybe the Henson AL13 comes close to its finish and fit with also a mild shave but that’s probably about it. This is quite an exclusive product and specific in its purpose. It’s not going to rip through multiple days of growth the same way a slant or R41 would.

    • @geofatboy
      @geofatboy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's just a matter of finding the sweet spot with any razor. You can feel when it's cutting and when it's not. Definitely not rocket science. After a couple shaves you got it!

    Could you do a comparison shave between this Feather ASD2 and the Edwin Jagger 3one6 razor? They look very similar and I was curious to know if it does give an equivalent feeling shave.

  • @devildante9

    I have tested many safety razors, and the only one that really did it for me was this one. I have super sensitive skin, and even with this one I nick my neck every other shave. I pair it with a Wilkinson Sword blade, the Feather ones are too aggressive and I always nick myself with those, but the Astras are too mild.
    Worth every dollar, I'm not a teenager so I don't mind going the extra mile and getting a premium product that I'm going to be using for the next 30 years.

      @@tugboat8475 Is going strong still! I have dropped it several times, but other than a scuff to the logo there's zero damage. The wilkinson sword blades I mentioned was a pack of a hundred, I still haven't gone through all of them, I can use them for 3 or 4 shaves no problem.
      The only nitpick I have is that I wished the handle was a bit longer, I know most people like their handle short though.

      I have a cheap Feather Popular and I bet they are very similar. I agree, too mild even on my sensitive skin but it's not bad if you don't care about having a really close shave. My daily at the moment is the R89 which I find much smoother shaving then the Merkur 34c and 23c models (less drag).
      I've tried a few others but none that stood out. Have a Henson Medium & Rockwell 6C on order so am hoping I find one I like even better then my R89. But for anyone that wants a really mild razor, or wants to try one out. Buy the Feather Popular first for $18, then if you like it you can pick up the expensive Feather razor.

    • @dan_mer
      @dan_mer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Burris19D Yes, they are. There are two models od Feather Popular, one with a plastic handle ($15) and one that looks like a Parker ($35). All three have identical aggression. These razors force you to press, which negates the purpose of DE razors. Most people switch to DE razors to avoid irritation caused by cartridge razors. If you press hard, that is worse than using a Mach 3.
