    I hope Hyundai keeps this little car around for a while in America.
    I realize that everyone wants a crossover, but there's still a formidable market for people who just want a basic car.
    The Accent is pretty unbeatable in that category.

      I wish they kept the hatchback. I’ve now decided to buy myself a car and want a hatchback from Kia/Hyundai. But they discontinued the EGT, the hatchback of this, only thing left is the Rio Hatchback 😭 Such a shame. I always feel jealous seeing my neighbors Elantra hatchback 💀 and there’s always an accent hatchback parked at a road I go through to work 🤨

      I too hope they keep the Accent around. It's been an affordable Hyundai staple for 27yrs, believe it or not, and they've always tended to be one of Hyundai's more dependable models. I was tremendously disappointed when they discontinued the hatchback and replaced it with the significantly more expensive and fuel thirsty Hyundai Venue.

    Bless that Hyundai is still continuing this model and KIA with their equivalent of the Rio here in the States. The subcompact field is shrinking which is too bad

    • @kevina2052
      @kevina2052 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's shrinking.. but also growing, in physical size. A subcompact from today is the size of a compact car from 8 years ago.
      I get your point though.
      Look at the new Mustang Mach-E as an example. That is marketed as a Midsized crossover. When in reality it has the ground clearance of a Toyota Camry. It's just a midsize hatchback in reality. It's all about the marketing though.

      @@2004cyrus The overriding majority of TH-cam reviews are a little more than elaborate info commercials. Are you naive enough to believe Gold Pony is 100% free to give his honest opinion when he relies on dealerships for his test vehicles?
      As I alluded to in my initial response his reviews do have value. He tells us the trim levels, provides high quality video of the car both inside and out, points out the features and interior measurements, etc.
      But when it comes to subjective evaluations he will never say car A has one of the worst rides I've come across.

      @@johnb4905 I’m not a juvenile. I’m 44. I’m not naive & of course I understand how the world works. The reviews are a dash of information and a lot of free entertainment. That’s why I don’t leave comments like yours expecting the review to be more than it is. You are thinking too hard and putting too many expectations on the reviews apparently. And so that hit a nerve with me and I thought sheesh why is this man being a tool? If you do better than make reviews and open yourself up to criticism. I’m sure that won’t ever happen. So I’ll leave you be and I’ll enjoy them in a surface level then go live my reality in the real world. Take care.

    It seems like quite a nice subcompact economy car. The styling looks classy and it has a lot of nice features. I've never owned one, but I've had the chance over the years to drive a 1996 hatchback, a 2003 sedan, and a 2008 hatchback. With every generation, they get better equipped, quieter, smoother, and safer. I always found them to be cheap and cheerful if you keep you expectations realistic.

    I bought this car in red brand new back in May. For me it was between this car and the 2020 Honda Fit. I’ve been wanting a Honda Fit for many years and was planning to buy one that day. I let the Hyundai 10-year warranty suck me in and bought the Accent instead. I’m always looking for good reviews on the Hyundai, reassuring me that I made a good choice. But I think it will always be at the back of my mind that I didn’t buy the more unique-looking car I’ve wanted for so many years. They are phasing out the Honda Fit, so I missed my chance at the last new one 😢 I feel almost like the Hyundai Accent is a “cookie-cutter car,” everybody drives one and now that includes me…

    I'm thinking about purchasing this vehicle but am worried about the rear seat space. In your video it seems like there's a sufficient amount of room; however, in another video's test of the 2020 accent (same dimensions) the 5'10 driver barely had any leg room when the front seat was comfortably adjusted. I understand you're taller and have more space, so I'm wondering if it might be the case that the front seat wasn't adjusted to your driving comfortability (I'll ofc be test driving the vehicle as well for final determinations).
