      Getting a 2021 accent on Friday. I was very surprised on the drive. Super smooth. Mine doesn't have an armrest. They make ones that go in the 3rd cup holder for like 60 bucks. They have ones with USB chargers, lights. Etc. Not to shabby honestly. Got the car for 16k out the door so I can't complain.

    Honda Fit is a very practical car with lots of storage and is fun to drive however it's huge drawback is price. 2020 Fit's MSRP is the highest in the mainstream sub-compact segment. Fully loaded 2020 Fit will be $23k out the door and even a mid-trim Fit with the CVT will be $20k out the door. Furthermore, Honda dealers are notorious for giving very small discounts. 2020 Chevy Spark is extremely fun to drive and extremely affordable too. You can buy a new Chevy Spark for $11k out the door for manual transmission and $12k out the door for CVT as long as you negotiate well. Spark can be driven on the highway too with no problems. If I wanted a subcompact car, I would either buy the Spark if I want to save money or buy the Yaris if I want a really fun car to drive.

    I rented a Hyundai Accent, with 39,000 miles showing on the odometer. The car drove great and it averaged 50 mpg. It rode nice for what it is, I was impressed and pleased. I never got tired driving it, was comfortable and controls were nice, easy to reach and use. The one I rented wasn't a limited trim, it was the base model. Again it is a good car for what it is and the mpg was great. What you get for price vs car, it gets my vote.

    These types of light sedans are going extinct now. In my city, Hyundai had the Accent (light/minicompact sedan) which is discontinued, the Verna (subcompact sedan) which would be discontinued any day, the Elantra (compact sedan) and Sonata (mid-sized sedan). I own a 2011 Accent and a 2016 VW Passat. The 2011 Accent I use for office commute - easy to park, maneuver, good fuel economy, yet good enough to pick up my kid from daycare, grocery runs etc. and use Passat for longer drives with family. Not everyone requires a big car all the time and happy to drive a hatch.

    I recently got my 2020 Accent with the 6MT. Just crossed 500 miles and I love the car so far. While yes the steering and handling isn’t quite as sharp and responsive as some other manufactures do but the car is very straight forward, it’s what you expect. The one place I think the car really shines is in ride quality, great for a subcompact without being totally dead on steering feel.

    I rented a Nissan Versa, cvt transmission was bland. The volume knob on radio had gave up and had to only use volume control on steering wheel. It felt heavy compared to the Hyundai and the gas mileage was not as good as the Hyundai either.

  • @robertt3551
    @robertt3551 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I bought the SE manual, and I would have to agree that it does most things well, but there's nothing exceptionally bad nor outstanding. But owning a Mazda3 for 4 years, I find the Accent steering feel is very numb. I measured 9.1 seconds 0-60 from your video, but take into consideration that your car in Limited trim is about 200 lbs heavier than the SE manual. The rotational mass of the 17" rims may also be a deterrent.

  • @milah1958

    The front seat is not upright and it's pushed to the back. Surely it's not enough leg room.

    Glad you are pushing the car more than other reviewers to really know what the limits are. WIllow Run is near Ann Arbor. Go Blue! Agree the Yaris iA is more of a driver's car, but the interior is tiny.

    I recently rented a 2019 Hyundai Accent and found it far peppier and a little roomier with someone in the passenger seat compared to my Chevy Sonic. Also, much better fuel economy. I think my Sonic was less expensive but in hindsight I wish I had gotten this car.

    What shocks me is that the 2020 Hyundai Accent Limited, despite being the fully loaded top trim and costing so much for a sub-compact, still looks basic on the inside and drives basic too. I don't care too much for heated seats, sun roof, proximity entry smart key etc. For the top Limited trim, I expect a more powerful engine, upgraded suspension, auto brake hold, and leather seats. None of that is offered. Keep in mind, the 2020 Hyundai Accent Limited will cost around $22k out the door. Even the Accent SEL will cost around $20k out the door. For that kinda money, I would rather buy a compact sedan.

      Its subcompact ... And if any dealer charging you 22k for this you paying too much ... Only paid 18k for mines ... You really asking for too much if the want the car to be affordable ... As you stated it would be best if you look for a bigger more expensive car 😊
