  • Hello everyone and in this video I will be showing you how to create dust particles using Eevee! In the last video we created DNA and at the end we used Photoshop to create the dust. I know some people don't have Photoshop so I decided to figure out how to do it in Blender!

    Instead of a cube, use a sphere. Then add a small rotation on one or even all three axes to have moving dust. You could even add one or more “dust objects” spinning in different direction, for an even more random look.

    Would you have any tips to create "fuzzy", or "soft" particles? Or particles that fade out from the center? I'm just thinking for a composition that is more of a closeup and doesn't take into account depth of field, which would naturally blur out some particles in a larger scene. Hopefully I'm making sense.

    • @jasperpagan2237
      @jasperpagan2237 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've figured it out. Simply set your emitter to be 'emitter' instead of 'hair' and set it up the same way. make sure to give the particles a really long lifespan (longer than the animation) and set them to start and end on frame 1. on the field weights, turn off gravity. also, lower the normal velocity a bit to prevent too much spreading. Then simply add in some turbulence and you are done!
      hope this helped

    How would you animate the dust particles so that they look like floating in the air in a realistic way?

    • @AstaMuratti
      @AstaMuratti 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      in your particle settings change hair to emitter (we can look at it as hair for static things and emitter is for moving things), in Source it can be left as Volume or changed to Faces, for creating floating dust/snow, etc. you can use one single plane, not object, if particles suppose to be lightweight, you can play with Mass (it is in Physics section), Forces (more drag and more damp = slower particles in general, sorry for this simplification), to make it float in the wind for example, add Force Field - Wind (or another type of Force Field)

  • @KwasiMedia
    @KwasiMedia 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ok, I'm going to ask a question, but not exactly confident I will get an answer. When we see these beautiful animations in movies are those in the engine or seperate processes done in compositing? Because that's a lot of rendering to do just to get an energy aura around a character also make it stay with that character when it moves. And not have to hand animated the motion of that energy aura around them. And I'm not interested in billboarding 2d objects or panels to my camera just for an effect I should be able to do in 3d space.

    • @BlenderMadeEasy
      @BlenderMadeEasy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are many different processes on how vfx works in movies. I'm guessing for particles floating around a person they would use a similar technique that you see in this video. From there they would composite it into the footage and mask out where the person stands. I highly doubt someone would hand animate an effect like this.
