looks like that 240k is about all that engine will do as well. baby poo, not milk shake, in that engine. also, parts car is about the only answer these days, especially on anything over 10 years old.
All the new Fords are bad anyway! The last good year Fords were in 2003. Also, parts nowadays for any car are in short supply and it seems that’s the only way to rebuild
You almost shed a tear for a car with a "cow catcher" grill and a hearse rear end? Don't forget all the nice brittle plastic! Only thing it's missing is the casket for the back. 🙃 Milk shake in a 3.5/3.7... ummm let me guess... a bad water pump leaked all it's goodness into the crankcase. Designed to fail!
I actually studied this video from the production viewpoint taking a mental note every time you reset camera and lighting. Thank you so much for for taking us along for the ride, the effort you make is greatly appreciated 👍
It’s not weird. People don’t realize how much work goes into video production. Once you start making videos, you never watch movies quite the same again. I actually enjoy the video filming and the work. The editing, not so much.
I needed front end parts for my Jeep XJ after getting clipped by a 16 year old with more get-there-itis than sense. Found the same make, model, year AND COLOR in a yard. That's the ultimate win - $400 for every part I needed and the paint was sun faded to an exact match.
That "scraper" that you use to forcibly remove welded panels (using an actual hammer as a hammer this time) is actually called a "5 in 1 tool" and is used by painters to perform their black magic. So another tool that you are using in opposition to its' actual function! Good on you, sir!
Buying a second vehicle for needed parts, in today's economy, does cost less because Parts Availability is crazy! Also, it saves you months, not having to wait! I saw a video where the mechanic needed a gasket for an oil filter housing. The gasket was unavailable, but the oil filter housing w/ needed gasket was available!
Besides just the parts availability but just think what shipping would have been if brought all this stuff separately from different places. Sometimes buying a whole car makes sense.
I was totally surprised when I saw this posting as it was not Friday . I look forward to Fridays to see your postings and enjoy your in depth breakdown and rebuild of cars . As a retired Volvo parts manager I appreciate your quality and explanation of the process of repairing to the genuine original equipment or many times better . I saved for Friday to keep with my regular format . You always amaze me on your ways to save money and time by having Scott's Emporiem ! I think that a few more Lincolns are in your future with side or rear damage . Glad the engine was shot as I hate to see a car ripped apart for a few things and scrapped . I will noe have a double bonus this week as I watch this second posting this week . My the new year bring the best of health and happiness in the new year to all your loved ones ! Your prosperity will continue as your hard work is the key to your success and quality is number one ! Thanks for the two for this week ! A faithful subscriber ! I
This seems to be the way professional repair shops go I’ve watched a few repair shops posts and all of them get a donor car for parts, another great post scott
Assuming the parts needed are rust free and not damaged, this makes a lot of sense financially. This vehicle has a lot of miles, a bad engine, so scrap anyway, it allows for an economically sound fixing of another similar vehicle.
I have finally figured out where "Scott's Part's Emporium" is located. Now if I could only figure out where/how Scott's parts are kept organized I might tackle the wife's used but nice car she says she "needs" soon.
It' a 2011 and it's breaking mostly because the original manufacturer used plastics that had unstable poly molecules and they have started breaking apart. OTOH, my Honda CRV is 2010 and the plastic parts are healthy. Some of which I recently popped off to fix a little fender bend. I didn't break any of them and after pushing out the dent they popped back on. I think some manufacturers are making cars with no consideration for lasting longer than 10 years because they will be used up North where the salt is going to kill them no matter what. I am thinking they should make two types of cars. One for the rust belt and another for the non-rust belt. A 10 year car and a 20 year car.
Thanks for the video. I actually am on my 5th Ford Ranger. lol Its a 2001 with 220k+ miles and I love it but I live in Louisiana and don't have snow. Mostly I have to worry about bad drivers. Your videos ROCK. Hope your new year is off the hook and if you ever you need a connection down this way just holler. I'm on FB.
Hi, Scott panic over I thought it was Friday! another great stripdown wish you stayed in Scotland all the best to you and you're family for 2023 good health regards 🏴🇬🇧
Bonus video. I love your bonus videos, they always make me panic of what day of the week it really is. Great video keep them coming, I mean if you want too
Question, rally for anyone, with you battery powered ratchets and impacts do you put them on to charge every night or do you have multiple batteries so you can wait until they are dead to recharge? Being a professional I know you are running them way more than a hobbiest like myself, but just curious.
Seeing how that plastic just turns to dust. There has to be some place to complain about the built in obsolescence. Is there anything aftermarket or parts from old cars that would work in place of these plastic parts. My last truck the plastic tanks on the radiator burst. The local garage found a all steel / aluminum replacement Not direct but close enough to work for 100K miles.
Was the Lincoln front end more expensive because the junkyard had to remove it from its car or was the entire parts car cheaper because of the Toyota center cap?
Love the video. Perfect combination of education with just the right amount of humor. Keep'm coming. On the subject of coming, when will the rolled over Silverado make a come back?
10:56 Question for you: when you're pulling parts off one, is it advantageous to have the 2nd car next to you so as you pull parts off, you just walk over and put them on it? Of course there are things like you can't replace the valve cover or radiator support after you've put the new fender on.... Just wondering what works best for you.
I am not very young. I have been working on cars for 40 years. I grew up in a shop and have taken many training courses in automotive repair. Any skills I have come from experience and the training just makes sure what I do is the right way according to the engineers that are much smarter than I.
Hey everybody! The new Scott’s Lincoln MKX EMPORIUM has its grand opening today! Here for a limited, or maybe unlimited, amount of time depending on Lincoln auction prices.
Regardless, the customer of the white car is paying for the parts so I'm betting it was a " customer pays for a parts car , gets what they need and Scott keeps the rest for dismantling the black one. "
Wait, what tool did you use to take the molding off the back of the wheel well? At first it looked like a belt molding installation tool, but it happened so quick I couldn’t really tell.
How funny - I’m doing the same thing for a rebuild I’m working on. I bought a parts car to cut down on overall costs. Individual parts are not cheap nowadays. Also - I’ll take a milkshake. Churned, not stirred😂
Okay what's up I'm sitting here because that's what I do most of the time now cuz I'm retired well at least on Wednesdays and I see that there's a video for Vehcor And I thought to myself is it Friday where did Wednesday and Thursday go so what's up did you change your uploads If you did please tell me If you didn't I'll just be in the dark like I am most of the time. Thanks for bringing back memories from when I was younger. I grew up in a body shop Don't know if that's a great place for a kid at least language wise though it did increase my vocabulary 🤯😁
0:44 ask Ben over at V tuned about his collection of sentras lol....I think he's got 5 now...that's how it starts...."oh it's cheaper to buy a parts car" ok, well the parts car only needs x y and z, oh look, there's another one, I can fix up 1 and 2 with this one...oh wait, there's another one next think you know you're a sentra dealer lololol.
that can be used to save many MKT's with the high mileage sure it may of been a good running and driving suv but who knows for how long. It can save lots of lower mileage ones.
Well if you know what you're doing and you know how to identify everything and get the right parts and the right car you got to do it a lot cheaper. Can I guess nowadays that continental can identify as anything? Lol. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
I almost shed a tear for the MKT you’re going to execute, but then I remembered that ‘ It’s a Ford’ and realized that I didn’t care.
😂
Scotty is just saving someone the pain of having to walk everywhere when their Ford breaks down.

definitely not weird

Ha😅 perhaps studied was not the correct word - I thoroughly enjoyed it but for some reason the amount of scene changes really stood out.
It’s not weird. People don’t realize how much work goes into video production. Once you start making videos, you never watch movies quite the same again. I actually enjoy the video filming and the work. The editing, not so much.

Your remarks about Fords in general, just to drive Ford people nuts, are one of the highlights of your videos...
Keep up the good work! LOL
Not for the Ford fans that are overly sensitive! 😂
@vehcor now wait a minute, I like my Ford and I agree their engineering absolutely sucks.
That "scraper" that you use to forcibly remove welded panels (using an actual hammer as a hammer this time) is actually called a "5 in 1 tool" and is used by painters to perform their black magic. So another tool that you are using in opposition to its' actual function! Good on you, sir!
Vehcor shirt arrived in the mail today and a video dropped. Was a good day.

I saw a video where the mechanic needed a gasket for an oil filter housing. The gasket was unavailable, but the oil filter housing w/ needed gasket was available!
Watch Wes Work
Eric O, South Main Auto! :D
Makes me wish I could find and store another last gen Mercury Cougar to use for parts for my daily, getting parts for it is a total nightmare
Besides just the parts availability but just think what shipping would have been if brought all this stuff separately from different places. Sometimes buying a whole car makes sense.
@@paulstaf You win a cookie!
Parts car with room to store the parts. NICE!
On to the rebuild!
Is it Friday already? Man this week flew by! Well, off to happy hour! Have a great weekend everyone!
I love your videos keep them coming
Thanks, I will try.

Bonus video... Good stuff.
Hopefully, I have a lot of work to do if you are to get a Friday video. 😳
But we are hopeful and bad drivers :D
Looks like that car has been sitting for a while from that Pennsylvania inspection stic.
Bonus video - great.. Good savings on that one.
This seems to be the way professional repair shops go I’ve watched a few repair shops posts and all of them get a donor car for parts, another great post scott
6:39 you should save that mulch for your grow op.......😇
Your so talented friend very good the way you send messed up cars and. trucks back out and give them a new life for lucky owners
Wow!
Friday came early
It must be a Happy New Year!
Maybe I just didn’t get a calendar for Christmas this year. 😂
Assuming the parts needed are rust free and not damaged, this makes a lot of sense financially. This vehicle has a lot of miles, a bad engine, so scrap anyway, it allows for an economically sound fixing of another similar vehicle.
Excellent video, Scott! Really appreciate the detailed, meticulous editing and filming process you've undertaken here!
I use a guitar string to cut those foam deadners out with. The wounded ones are the best. Thks Vehcor.
I'm waiting on your Yukon Denali videos to come back I'm going to buy one from you keep up the great work
The white one I did might be up for sale.
@@vehcor I got a yukon denali needs fixed
Last bit about Ford reliability gave a giggle - thx!
A moment of happiness for the MKT, soon to be back on the road crashing into others and breaking down.
Cool! Looks like you can reuse that Fram Air Filter! That's a win.
Awesome show.
Thanks
What a great surprise! I had to look to see what day it was. One more pile off the road. 😂
Another great video Scott 👍 👍
I appreciate your efforts, 2 videos this week is nice. Thanks
The last one probably mr Scotty made a rare appearance and they demonetized him for it

It runs and it drives! But now it is going to die! 😆😆. I see a new merch shirt in your future!
Happy New year!
Same to you!
Scott’s imperium may not want a Lincoln hanging out with all those gm cars.lol.thanks John from Arizona
Yea Scott Wednesday! Keep it around lot of good parts . Happy New Year Sott and Mr . Spotty .

Good ol clutch dump on the long 3/8s! They do it pretty damn well!
Thnx for all the lessons! Really
edumacational in many areas.

I didn't see any stickers on that Lincoln... 🤔 Oh well, I can't wait for the next video...!!! 😎👍
Try using fishing line when taking off emblems especially when the metal is gonna be repainted. Makes it easy!!
Love the brand of the scraper/auto disassembly tool. Old family connection.
Bonus video. I love your bonus videos, they always make me panic of what day of the week it really is. Great video keep them coming, I mean if you want too
Right, I had to make sure it wasn't actually Friday somehow.
I have to get the scraper and trim pliers
Those wheels/that driver couldn’t find a curb they didn’t like.
I love ur channel and I'm a Ford only guy Lol guess people hate me I grew up in very Non GM family 👪 😁
Ah, one of the few Ford fans that can handle some jokes. 👍🏻
@vehcor I'm the only one I don't care it's fun. Ur the Man Scott awsome content 👌
@Frank M I like my Ford F-150, and I can always take a joke. I agree their engineering sucks!
when you pull vacuum in the ac is it reusable thanks for the extra show

Didn't we watch this disassemble on the white one?
Great video. Love the camera shots and the narrative. Is this your first Lincoln? Seems like you would have rebuilt a Town Car or two over the years.
I'm so confused... What day is today? I can't believe it's Friday already!
I was surprised you found the first one to rebuild... I am more surprised you found a second one to use as parts.
This addition is a good idea plus like you said ..$$ for the parts, doors, seats, panels etc...👍

A lot will work on the Ford Flex, too.
I see you prefer cars from IAA over Copart. Is there any reason for that ? Like, better fees, etc ?

Is the MK just a cross dressing Exploder or is it a Toyota it Cheap clothing?
Crossdressing Flex. It is very similar to the explorers the way it goes together.
The MK is based off of a flex You're thinking about the MKS or Taurus sedan which were both based off and explorer
