I will probably delete this comment after asking, if you do reply just so it isnt attached to my account. CW/TW for SA, r*pe, CSA, grooming topic.
But I was groomed at 15 by a 24 year old, I was below the age of consent (16 in the UK) experienced SA, and then later his friend who was 22 did the same, I was 16 by then (16 and 6 days when he took my virginity sans consent). That was SA and r*pe.
I am now 31 and processing a lot of these things and watching YT videos etc. I dont feel the CSA bracket fits me, I was not a small innocent naïve kid. I was a vulnerable teen who thought she wanted that, but didnt know what it entailed. I was old enough to know better than an innocent child.
But I was a child.
Then I was 16, I was a child, not an adult, not 18 but was legally able to consent. I have experienced SA and r*pe as an adult too, but I dont feel these experiences at 15 and 16 fit into CSA or just SA, they were formative experiences for my ideas of sex and love. But I wasnt a scared little child totally helpless. I also looked so much younger, I look 26 now at 31, at 16 I looked 12, at 12 I looked 8. I have always been skinny, flatchested so I feel a lot of gross feelings there too about how they saw me, and how I see myself.
I have trouble with where I fit into this.

Thank you for your kind words, and you're so very welcome. Perhaps consider this, you were still a child at 16 irrespective of laws. You were still naive to the ways of the world, and the ways of men irrespective of our bodily autonomy, which when we're teenagers our body is "waking up" with all those hormones running around. Think on how our parents needed to inform and protect us as teenagers, not simply let us wander around with no clue, thinking we had all the clues. Sexual abuse is a power dynamic. Irrespective of age is strips us of our power as we do not consent to something that is supposed to be mutual. And the worst of it all is without healing, we are unknowningly set up to be sexually abused again in adulthood, when we think we've got it all under control. I've been there too, and it's a hard journey through recovery. Keep taking just one next step. With care, Linda
