I am so glad there is a raw video like this showing the hardships of training a puppy, and also all the little things that truly matter later on in their lives. Most trainig videos i see of dogs who are already well trained and is not helpful at all because behaviour of an untrained dog is a complete polar opposite of a trained dog and you wont learn anything from videos like that. Keep up the good work!

Great vlog again mate. Just a little tip - feel free to ignore :-) ... If i was you i would lift the food bowl directly above her head when teaching her manners for dinner times - she will then sit automatically and you wont have to restrain her with you hands. If she gets up again as you go to put the bowl down then raise again until she is in sit and calm again. ..rinse and repeat everytime and she will have it down in a day or so.

This all makes me feel 100% better watching this video. I have the same issues with my giant schnauzer pup. It’s better to walk away and take a deep breath and not let my frustrations get the better of me. It’s extremely hard to her them cry like that, but I know the importance of ignoring it. Thank you very much sir.

Picking up my Cane Corso in 5 days. Getting the house ready. Stairs blocked. Took the legs off the sofa. The breeder is letting him and his siblings sleep and lay on a blanket I take with him. Have a bag of food the breeder was feeding. I have a leash and collar, but I think i want to get a harness for him. Going to schedule him his shots asap, he has 1 set already. Not going to wait to get him out and about though. He is going to meet multiple new people every day for the first while I have him. Excited and scared.

Is Mabel your first mastiff? First corso? She's just so young, the food drive will come. That's kinda normal for her age. But it will Come! My corso is 17 wks. Now, he adores training time now, those high value rewards! 😂 throughout my life, I've had 3 cane corsos, that were my dogs, as a kid. Our family dogs were always mastiffs too, English mastiffs, and as smart and stubborn as the English mastiff is, cane corso is a whole new level! Enjoy the long puppy naps that she's going to accustom to for a couple more weeks... After that, whooo doggy! It'll really get wild!
She's beautiful, definitely a keeper!! Thanks for sharing!

Happy days you now have a channel we can leave comments on 👏. (First things first you have a man bun, Not my cuppa rosy Lee but as to each there own 😉 and as painfully as it is it actually suits you ) Now more importantly congrats on the new lady in your life and what a beauty she is.... very informative regarding the first faze of the first week, I made a huge mistake as a first time dog owner and shouted at my pub the third night of crying, I wish I could have taken it back as even now at 5 years old he gets stressed when people raise there voices... yes I feel terrible 😟..... Very interesting the part about using the lead at an early age and how you do it, I got very frustrated when doing this as on our first walk at around 14 weeks old Baloo the Bear would literally act like a dead weight with his collar and lead and not move, so I decided within 5 minutes to take the collar and lead of which in turn was the best thing I could have done as he walked along leadless without running away and has done for the past five years.... I spoke to a good friend of mine I met in the army who trains SF dogs and he said apparently the first walk is extremely important as the dog will see you as there protector and stay with you... he said if you try this at a later age i.e. When the dogs 6 months + older he will most likely try to escape and it would then be a full training process to train your dog of lead.... however I do have a Staffy and apparently there extremely say to train due to there inherent loyalty and willing to plead there owner very similar to the Corso breed in personality.... any way enough of my rambling on, Congrats again.... she's a stunner and a beautiful Grey/Blue girl.... I know you know your stuff but I would wholly suggest watch a channel on her called "Senza Tempo Cane Corso" she's a Corso breeder and has some great knowledge on the breed... in fact I've always been really very passionately against dog ear cropping and never thought I would change my mind, watching her in depth blog on he subject completely changed my mind, and opened my eyes to the reality of humans creating floppy ears and that there is no natural animal on planet earth that has its ear canals blocked by floppy ears....

Meaning to ask you. Good choice about cane corso, but what about coro/rottweiler mix regards trainability/temperate. I know you have particular knowledge of both breeds, so what are your thoughts on compatability of mix breeding these breeds? Are they genetically compatability to provide off spring benefits in the form of health and temperament for family and guardian ability , intelligence etc. Thanks for your insight.

I have a question. I have 2 10month corsos. We got them full time when they were 9 months. As far as training, they know sit, and down...I’m working on it with them..just basic obedience. They also have NO socialization at all(barks at any person besides us). They are amazing with my boys (2 and 8)...Would I train then like you are training a small pup? Or do you have any recommendations as far as training 10 month corsos? I hope to hear from you.

A question I imagine will unfortunately be ignored:: I have two purebred German Shepherd dogs that are literally cannibals. They killed two of my other adult dogs, dogs they'd been ok with for a year, and then they are them. One of the large dogs they killed and partially ate that Thus far have not dug him up and ate his remains further since I buried him. The other dog they killed -- another GSD, they literally dug her body up and ate most of it last night. What would cause this??? Sincerely, they are free fed and have tons of dog food. They have a large fenced property to run on. Btw when my cannibals we're attacking in both cases it was when I was not home. I returned during the second attack and the two stopped immediately when I verbally commanded them too but it was too late to save their victim.

Dubi Kebede do you live in a house or an apartment? Do you have a yard or a lot of land? Do you have a job for the dog to do or is this just a pet? What reason are you choosing the kangal? I would recommend another breed if you do not live on a large property and do not plan on using them as a working dog in some capacity (ideally livestock guardian dog). I would not recommend it as first dog regardless. It is a lot of dog (and I’m not referring to the size of it).
