I have a pandemic rescue cane Corso that's now 15 months. Max McLovin has had 5 other homes and in shelter 3 times. Still his amazing and resilient breed standards shine through! Yes he's a mess as fare as his understanding of commands but his WANTS to understand you which is why retraining is going to well. I'm excited to review all of your videos 🙏
YES‼️‼️ Outstanding ‼️ I love that you teach a release "free" and consider a different language. I have always suggest a different language used when children are in the home because it it helps prevent the need for retraining as well as pack issues. If you're telling your kids to stop or saying no and the dog sees that the child isn't complying, they tend to question your leadership or depending on the dogs age, may try to correct the child as well as form a new understand of what no or stop means.
I might be getting one. I'm getting a rescue from Texas, 5 months old. A full litter was dumped. Tails are docked. 2 were hit by a car. 1 didn't make it. I had never heard of this breed before. The shelter thought they were crossed. I just don't see people dumping that kind of money on mixed breeds. The woman who found them feels they're pure breed.
Garrett you are a legend. I have my first time training a Corso next month. Unfortunately they have two 8 month old Cane Corso! I have no idea why they got two, must have been a good deal eh!!!!!!! So I am wishing myself a lot of luck with that one! Lol
@@AmericanStandardK9 thanks...... I think! 🤔 I'm really looking forward to it. I have admired the breed from a distance and there isn't anyone else where we live that would even consider it so it's a double win for me and my business.... As long as I don't get eaten! Lol
The lady that trained my dog didn’t do any of this with mine. She definitely didn’t do treats. She said “when you go to work every day does your boss bring you snacks because you were doing what was asked” at first o was like wow that’s messed up. But my dog didn’t care. He just aim to please and for me to tell him good boy.
My dream dog for my family. Definitely will train him. He should be as gentle as a teddy bear but I just want him to growl at strangers unless commanded not to. Perfect non violent protection dog. Seriously, who's going to attempt ANYTHING nefarious against our family or home after seeing and hearing this terrifying beauty's growl????
He's very beautiful and u make it look so easy!! We have a 1 1/2 year old Corso .. he was given to us by a friend that passed away that helped the mom give birth.... We have 3 little girls.... He does great on the pokey leash with me going on walks.... But I think he needs more training as he breaks out the gates and tries to roam like he's grown lol 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
He's also, very stubborn, and growls at my 15 year old son when my son lays on him while he's asleep... Long story... I need him to be more people and animal friendly
Thanks for your content very educational and helpful as we work with our husky puppy! I would love to see how you work on the bathroom with your dogs if they are not already potty trained?
I have a 6 month old Corso and the problem I am having is, he will obey when I have treats but not when he knows I have no treats. How do I transition off of food to just commands?
Well….. I can’t afford your boarding program, it will be me training at home. There are so many on line programs, yours, that’s dog etc… so I’m a little confused as what to follow and use? One doesn’t use your tools but with my pup a cane corso I think I need a prong collar. Anybody have any advice?
my mutt has to deepest bark but she also howls she is alaskan malamute great pyreneese black lab australian shepard i was walking her and she did her deep bark and scared the neighbor..lol
Ok.. So i think this is the same guy i seen in a Short. He said 99.9% of people should not own these dogs?? Do they need lots of training/attention daily?
@@AmericanStandardK9 If I use the whole usual meal portion of kibble for training, then can I also consider it as a meal? I mean the 'training kibble' would eventually add up and possibly cause weight gain, right? Or should training kibble/snacks and actual meals that I put in the dog's bowl be distinctly separate activities? Or maybe around 50% of the kcal of the usual meal given during training and the rest as a classic bowl meal?
Following this last question in the thread. My Cane is 14 weeks old and I am a new Member in the program for DIYK9. I to want to know if we need to fast the pup and then use his “training kibble” as his whole food regiment or does he get more in an actual food bowl outside of training. Respectfully, Tony. 🇺🇸🤙🏽
I just went thru this stage and what an exhausting stage it was! My Cane Corso is now 5 months and it took her just about 4 1/2 months to get it, living on 2nd floor, NO pee pads. Taking her out after I fed her, gave her water & played with her. Or every 2 hours. If you’re crate training, they go straight out every time you let them out from crate. It’s not easy and they will make mistakes, don’t punish for mistakes. Consistency is key! They will get it. Also, keep your eyes on them at all times you will learn the signs. Good luck!
Can you talk us through the training more? The dog is learning from what youre doing but its not really teaching me what and when or how to do what i need to. Just kind of talking but not teaching.
Thanos is built different. Such a beautiful, smart dog. 😍

Or follow through with your kids like you would a dog. I have 5 and they all understand and comply with no 🤷♀️
Oh my gawd he's gorgeous!!!
You are pretty good! Insane he had no training for 8 months.
Happy I found your channel. Love all your videos. Turns out you live where I grew up! 🤗 great content!

When you give the treat slightly step into the dog and he will put his head back and sit then give him the treat.

Do you have a trick to make a dog that's rough when taking the treats be more gentle?
Or are the bites unavoidable in the process?
Don’t give them the treat then.
Do you come to México and trean dogs
What is the name of the snacks are you giving him
Ok.. So i think this is the same guy i seen in a Short. He said 99.9% of people should not own these dogs?? Do they need lots of training/attention daily?
