Yeah, I'd get it more if they were astromech droids with the powerful stun weapons, but droids that are the size of a shoe killing soldiers who are supposed to be elite? First teddy bears with sticks, then space Aladdin and the rest of the clowns, now roller skates with lighters. No matter how I look at it, canon Stormtroopers always prove to be jokes.
I guess they're more like toasters with wheels now that I think about it.

Apart from cute little Mouse Droids turning into killing machines, this comic conveniently explained how the heck did Anakin's lightsaber end up in Maz's hands, I guess.
It's pretty annoying that you have to buy a DLC in order to understand something that the movie should explain to you.

This wasn’t a problem in the Original Trilogy, but in the Prequels, you definitely needed to go to the EU for more explanation (such as the Battle for Coruscant).
@@TooCooFoYou The Battle of Coruscant wasn't important in the plot, just the scenario of the opening of the film. Also, I can perfectly understand that the separatists had managed to attack Coruscant and "kidnapping" Palpatine.

Imagine being such a worthless empire asset that you can die to a droid a fraction of your size with REPAIR tools.
Repair tools are deadly. A hammer can be a repair tool. It can also just as easily be a deadly weapon. Blowtorches are even more deadly.
@@thedaveed1 But to soldiers who are supposed to be elite, and basically wear full-body armor, with state of the art weapons and technology? Their armor is supposed to keep them alive after taking a shot from a blaster. Even heavy blaster pistols can be as strong as RPGs as evident by Han Solo blowing chunks of rock apart in ANH when they escaped Mos Eisely, and blasters carbines themselves tend to be far stronger. Blowtorches, even as advanced as they would be in Star Wars, shouldn't be too much to handle for soldiers, especially if the droid using said blowtorch is the size of a shoe. The Ewoks were originally meant to be Wookiees, but they still seem strong, and outnumbered the Stormtroopers, and I believe they took very high casualties, so it is somewhat excusable. The main cast of the OT survived because Stormtroopers were ordered not to shoot them, but after seeing canon Stormtroopers get destroyed in practically every episode involving the Empire in Rebels over and over again by a few inexperienced Rebels, then trampled by a battalion of toasters on wheels here, it's my opinion that canon Stormtroopers are hyper-incompetent if that's even a phrase. I would understand if the Stormtroopers were stalled a bit, but completely wiped out? Sure the droids had the element of surprise, but this is just ridiculous, because they are the size of toasters, and would only serve as a distraction at most to real soldiers.
Those welding torches could definitely cut through dursateel, mouse droids wouldn't be used for repair work if they couldn't. Standard blasters leave scorch marks on metal, and we know they can penetrate Plastoid composites at closer ranges, so we can conclude with almost 100% certainty welding torches burning through Stormtrooper is reasonable in-Universe. And Star Wars is Science Fantasy, a genre that definitely isn't known for consistency, so there's that.
@@Noah-zz8uw And you'd be surprised at what you can miss when focused on something else. Why do you think we still have incidents of people getting hit by trains absent of any purposeful action? Or that video that asks you to count basketball passes and walks a guy in a gorilla suit through the entire shot that, without prior knowledge, very few actually pick up on.
@@dhwwiiexpert I'm not saying they couldn't cut through durable materials, but they definitely wouldn't make practical weapons capable of killing entire squads of Stormtroopers in seconds, especially when their armor disperses blasts. This comic acts like the mouse droids were armed with mini-lightsabers of some sort, that instantly cut through armor. I'd imagine such a powerful "tool" wouldn't be given to small droids doing repair work. Sure, the mouse droids are small and fast, but killing supposedly "elite" soldiers in a few seconds? If this doesn't prove Stormtroopers are pathetic in Canon, I don't know what does. They are supposed to be trained for war. I'd understand if a few of them were distracted, and they were wounded because of the blowtorches, but taking out an entire, well-equipped squad in seconds allowing for the main character(s) to conveniently escape without trouble just doesn't make sense. These are mouse droids. They are around the size of a shoe. Even if they could get through armor in a second, that doesn't mean the Stormtrooper is automatically out of combat. Blaster bolts can practically explode when they hit a target, which is why Stormtroopers go flying, and are knocked unconscious when they get hit by a pistol. Hence why I could understand if the droids injured the Stormtroopers, but killing all of them in seconds just seems unrealistic even for Star Wars. These mouse droids basically just pulled off a stunt commando droids might be able to do, (sneaking up on targets, all of the droids target a different soldier, knocking them to the ground and getting through their armor, overwhelming them quickly, killing them in seconds at most), but they are a small fraction of the size of the Stormtroopers.

@@nicktechnubyte1184 Yeah. Stormtroopers used to be awesome. I understand that they didn't kill the main cast because they were ordered not to in ANH, and that the Ewoks still took very high casualties (and were originally supposed to be Wookiees), so the OT is somewhat excusable, but after seeing Star Wars Rebels, and how inexperienced rebels took out entire squads on a daily basis, their reputation degraded heavily in my eyes. Now they are so incompetent they get trampled to death by a squad of toasters on wheels. Canon Stormtroopers are jokes no matter how one tries to justify it.

To us, Luke's lightsaber is one of the most important things in the Star Wars universe, but at that point in-Universe, for almost all ouside of the main OT heroes and villains, it's just a lighysaber. A rare find, yes, but just a relic to someone without the full context. Only later on would its importance be known to the wider Star Wars galaxy.
And someone of the greatest journeys have had mundane beginnings...
I liked this comic, but let’s just pretend the sequels never happened.

Ultimate battle: Mouse Droid vs Gonk Droid
I have a uni project where I have to design a Star Wars character and accompanying creature, prop, and environment designs. My guy’s an ex-CIS volunteer droid engineer, now a pirate and saboteur, and I just had the idea of him rigging mouse droids with EMP generators or explosives. The old Gozanti class cruiser he uses is partly crewed by other fellow separatist volunteers turned outlaws, and partly a bunch of scavenged and modified droids of various kinds. They operate out of a hidden CIS frontier outpost in the outer rim, which is also kept running by a workforce of ex-battle droids (thinking buzz droids repurposed for mining & repair, B1s and B2s moving heavy materials around the colony, old IG lancer droids patrolling the forest and relaying information to the settlers)
you fergot to note that on the death star and other large planet bases mouse droids also worked as guides for a sector, as they by programming knew the assigned sectors layout better than any other sentiant being (self awar droids included) for the path ways, and rooms. just not stations, unless its maintenance than they probably know that too.

At Disney Land there’s a glass case that holds the Luke’s lightsaber that fell in cloud city. The plaque describing the lightsaber revealed that Maz was there at the time Luke lost his saber so maybe she knew the ugnaught that found it.
