As you chop up your feesh veggies, put all your cut offs in the freezer. Once you fill a gallon bag or so, you can easily make your own veggie broth and toss what's left in compost. It is so easy to make the broth and you can freeze it
Something I appreciate about a minimalist/simpler home is that now I have the time and energy to actually focus on my health which is so important. ☺️❤️ Thanks for the tips!
Thank you for this amazing video! I am vegetarian but unfortunately eat too much processed foods and sweets and have gained weight and developed sleep apnea. Your story has encouraged me to eat more whole plant foods and eliminate the junk foods. Subscribed!
I did this 7 years ago for health and an unexpected but wonderful side effect was weight loss! Wish I could have done it when my sons were young like yours!! Processed food is so bad for everyone!!! Way to go Shannon!!!
It is hard to please everyone. We also have to make some extra different things in addition to what we are eating, but as long as everyone is fed I am happy =)
I am a firm believer that the ingredients they use to process our foods and other products is why we are overweight, also why our over all health isn't the best. And the small changes we make in our eating habbits, even if it is one thing at a time ads up. One of the changes I have been working up to is letting the microwave go. Blessings and thank you so much for sharing this one.
Definitely noticed the changes in you and your mom over the last few months. Congratulations. Like you, I have been decluttering and now trying to get back on track with the eating as well. I had great changes happen with weight over the past 2.5 years with maintaining my proper weight till I fell off that wagon in the past 6 months. Thanks for giving me this inspiration on both aspects of life, decluttering and healthy lifestyle. The two definitely go hand in hand! Keep your inspirational videos coming to us. We love them!
Happy New Year! Great video, thanks for sharing. I changed my diet last year too, eating mostly a whole foods diet now. I also started exercising every day & I feel so much better. This was encouraging to watch after a little indulging over the holidays!
What a wonderful video !!! Thank you for posting this. I eat the same way and I feel vibrant at the ripe old age of 60. So looking forward to seeing What I Eat in a Day videos. Good job !!!
You look awesome Shannon ! And congrats for making your household healthier. We still use certified olive oil (husband is 100% Italian ) but my goal this year is to completely eliminate sugar and all processed foods. Thank you for the inspiration, as we head west this year in the Airstream. (my first stop in any state is the local grocery store ) Happy New Year from Charleston SC~ "Nanna" Wanda & Vincenzo (Vinnie)
I liked your channel before but knowing you live the WFPB lifestyle makes it even better! Wish I would have known this information while raising my son
I am so happy to hear this. I was so afraid to say anything because, for some weird reason, sometimes people get offended that we eat differently than them. But then I started think I am going to share what I am doing and people can watch and relate or they don't have to. =) I hope you are having a great weekend.
I really appreciate you sharing your new eating habits Shannon. I had noticed you've slimmed down and I love that you're plant based, as am I! I get so much inspiration from others plant based journeys, so thankyou! Love your channel, as always...much aroha from NZ 🫶 🇳🇿
My 20-year cancerversary was yesterday and I owe being healthy to eating the WFPB way! There are so many antioxidants and compounds in plant food that aid in our health. You look amazing Shannon! If you aren’t familiar, there’s Better Than Bullion paste that is concentrated in a jar and removes the need for the large boxes of broth. Also lots of people are getting milk machines to make nut or soy milk. 😊
I think Shannon put her comment to you on the wrong person. " @shannontorrens1 3 hours ago So happy to hear you are cancer free! I will look those things up, thank you for sharing.
I had noticed that you looked really thin. I was worried that you were sick! I'm so glad that this is a lifestyle change rather than illness! Love your channel!
I was quite moved to learn that you eat plant based food :) I do too. It's not always easy to talk about it without people feeling attacked, so I understand why you haven't been mentioning it more. Thanks a lot for talking about it!
I was so excited to see this video! I think healthier eating is part of the minimalism, simpler living process. It’s almost part of the trajectory of changes. Last year, I became more plant forward in our meal planning. I highly recommend adding some vegan sauces to your repertoire. It helps to keep things interesting! Lots of TH-cam videos on vegan sauces. Also, I have had fun making meatballs & burgers out of beans. It’s super easy, especially if you have a food processor. You can bake them in the oven. Looking forward to more videos on this topic.
Hey Shannon! I've been watching your videos for years and always appreciate what you have to say! ( And I love your mom of course! 💕 ) I'd love to cut out processed foods in our house. We raise grass fed and finished beef and lamb, so we're definitely meat eaters, but I respect your family's decisions on your preferences! Happy New Year to you all 💜
Shannon, I have been following for years. I am so inspired by this video. Congrats on your weight loss! I would love to know more about your diet, especially any cookbooks or recipe websites (update: I found the links in the description!) you have found helpful. The fact that you lost weight with little to no "exercise" is so encouraging. I need to hear more! I would love to be more plant based but don't really like greens so any advice is greatly appreciated.
I think when it comes to greens, it's an acquired taste LOL. I find the more I eat I get used to the taste and eventually I like it. =) Kind of a slow process.
I'm just checking in - I'm not sure exactly where you live in southern CA, and I hope you and your family are safe and not affected by the awful fires. Thinking of you.
Processed food = unhealthy choices. My motto is if it comes in a box, or a bottle read the labels before buying it. I think you should include extra virgin olive oil or avocado oil, both are healthy choices. The central nervous system needs oil.
I've been wfpb for 15 yrs and I believe it is what is keeping me healthier and in better shape than my peers at 56. Meals are healthier, cheaper and easier. I've foolishly allowed some junk back in recently...thankfully, it's an easier course-correction than totally revamping our diets.
This is such a healthy way to eat, way to go!! I was eating Whole Foods plant based for a while, but adjusted a few things. Especially with children (like you mentioned). For oils, I just use non inflammatory avo and evoo and cut out all else. That helps as well if you do need a little oil. Congrats on your healthy changes!
Thank you for this. I follow some that you linked and will start following a few others you suggested, including one that I love but for some unexplainable reason, forgot about. That meal you made with the mushrooms looks great. Would you mind sharing the recipe, please? Love your channel. Happy New Year to you and your family.
I’m really interested in the mushroom gravy that you made. If you have time, would you please share the recipe. I’m inspired to try this way of eating. Thanks Shannon.
I noticed your Mom first and then starting noticing the change in you, you look really well and healthy, hubby and l are vegetarians and sometimes l think need to do more natural cooking rather than buying some of the processed food, a few new changes are good, Happy New Year to you all xx
I was lazy too, I think that was my main problem. It was just easier to get the packaged stuff. But now that we are getting used to eating this way, it's becoming easier over time.
What a fresh video! I love it. I'm not plant based, but I am trying to stay whole foods based, and this just gave me a ton of new meal inspiration! (Also I love that you're using Greenpan pans! My favorite cookware 🤗)
It's time to simplify eating, too. We've already cut out red meat and have always been whole grain. But, I don't want the clutter of non-nutritional food!❤ ty Shannon!🥑🍊🫑
Hi Shannon, you look great! Awesome job on the weight loss and it didn't take long at all. You looked great beforehand too after 3 children! Always look forward to your videos.
P.S. I hope this isn't TMI but my family has a history of colon cancer . In 2018 I had a colonoscopy and had a cancerous polyp removed. 2019/clear, 2024/all clear and very good "scope" per my doctor. "Clean as a whistle" not another one for 5 years now I feel so much better and actually am! Not clogging up my body with junk.🎉🎉🎉 Weight/health/image isn't all about weight loss contrary to what a lot of society shows us Glad I finally figured this out at age 56!!!🎉
Shannon, Great video. I've been vegetarian for over 17 yrs, but I know we eat too many processed goods. Hopefully, this yr we will get out of that habit. Thank you for sharing this. 😊
Thank you for sharing, Shannon! This is really quite eye-opening. I recently stopped eating Corn Flakes and my digestion improved so much. Corn is one of the worst foods for genetic engineering and it probably messes with our hormones and bodies in general. Do you find you have to make more frequent trips to the store eating this way?
I am currently at 185 , down from 230. Still a way to go. Mostly I have done it by portion control & eating 2 meals a day plus one snack. Also have cut way back on red meat & learning that I don’t need meat of any kind at all my meals.
You look amazing! Ive been vegan for 9 years and at the age of 57 the menopausal weight gain has become a problem..so I’ve cut out the sugar and fat and processed food and hoping to shift those extra unwanted pounds.
I too am making more from scratch myself. You may want to make your own vegetable broth. It's super easy, cheaper and more natural. Thanks for sharing.
Hi! Can you tell me your experience with not starting your soup with oil or butter, just water? So the carrots and onions are cooking in the same amount of water that you would have previously used oil? Thanks.
Yes, I just add a tiny bit of water or vegetable broth to the bottom of the pan so that way nothing sticks. Once in a while, I might have to add a tiny bit more if it is on high and cooks down, but other than that, I haven't had any problems. =)
Whole foods make you feel so much better! I’m not vegan and generally eat well, but do want to incorporate more whole foods in my diet in the new year. It takes more planning and effort, so is also about good habits. Hope you share some recipes. Glad you said your kids eat a bit differently. They need healthy fats for their growing brains.
Thank you for this video! Can you make another going thru a day of eating? Do you snack, and do you stop eating right after dinner? Also, I bet you would like Plantiful Kiki if you haven't found her yet, she has cookbooks and eats this way. WFPB and no oils. Love your videos!❤
Shannon, I want to tell you that you do look great. I've noticed the weight loss. Thank you for sharing. In 2008, I lost 60 some pounds...but have gained it back and more over the years. I lost that weight too by eating better, healthier. Cut out most sugar and ate much smaller portions. I love sugar 😢. It's so hard to cut it out, but it's true. If you cut out the sugar, you don't have those nasty cravings that we all get. Can I ask, what does tofu taste like? I am afraid to try it as it, for some reason, just grosses me out just looking at it. 😮
Congratulations, Shannon! Right before I turned 40, I was able to lose 20 lbs and get back to my prepregnancy weight from age 25. It was a good feeling, so i know that you must be so pleased with the feelings that come with a better weight number. I am now trying to do this again bc I have gained it back over the last 10 yrs. I love that I went vegetarian 3 yrs ago (Except for salmon, I want to keep my omega 3 in check, so I added that back in) Do you have tips on how to make tofu taste good? I have tried it a few times but could never get it to taste good. Thank you for any tips! (maybe tossing it in really good olive oil??) P.S. I have recently switched to oatmilk, silk brand and I love it even more than almond milk. Do you think it is as healthy as almond milk?
Hi Julia, it does feel good to be back to the size I was pre pregnancy. I feel I look like myself again. After my 3rd baby, sometimes I would look in the mirror and think who is that LOL. Anyways, another benefit is having more energy too. I have found tofu tastes best with a lot of seasoning and if it's cooked up after being cut into really tiny chunks. =) I am not sure about oatmilk, I have never tried it.
Shannon, Thank you! I understand about not recognizing yourself sometimes. I will try that with the tofu! I do love seasonings. Oatmilk is very creamy and it tastes really sweet for some reason, even without any added sugar. If you like oatmeal, you might enjoy it. I'd also like to try lentils. Your burrito looked delicious!! Happy Tuesday. It is a cold 🥶 16 degrees here again.
Hey Shannon, we eat a lot of whole foods now, but I do still have some processed food. I have decided to transform our pantry into an ingredient pantry and I have not been restocking those processed foods as I run out. I will of course still have some as it's impractical with our current life to have none. I made homemade gluten free, vegan bagels yesterday and they turned out pretty good! They were a bit bland, but I think my palette will get used to that. We do eat meat, but my daughter is vegan so honestly I will still purchase some of those alternative meats for her, but she eats them minimally anyway. I cook for our whole family 3 times a week and at least one is a plant based meal. And she cooks everything from scratch on the nights she cooks for herself. I'm excited about this switch and hoping it will help my perimenopause symptoms haha! Way to go loosing the weight! Does Grant eat vegan as well? It is so hard to hit protein goals on a plant based diet. You have to be really intentional! I still eat meat in part just for protein because it is so hard to keep muscle mass as you age! Thanks so much for sharing this journey with us!💖
really enjoyed this video! My husband and I and our 4 kids have been WFPB since April and LOVE it - we have found Broccoli Mum here on TH-cam and Instagram to be such a valuable resource of inspiration and recipes. She gets so creative in the kitchen and my kids love all of her recipes that I have tried :) Thanks for sharing your journey!
You looked great Shannon❤ Me too ,, I try my best to stay away from sugar and processed food Keep it up Shannon What’s your next home project??? Love your channel Shannon ❤
Hi Shannon! That is great that you lost 20 lbs but most of all, that you feel better and are healthier! We aren't vegetarian or vegan (My husband loves his meat and is diabetic so is pretty much on a keto diet of protein and veggies, no sugar ) but we have definitely removed processed foods, sugar, premade foods and incorporated almost all Whole Foods in our diet I haven't lost weight but have maintained a healthy weight which for me is between 150-155. I am also 61 yrs old so it is harder to lose weight I am happy with my current weight , exercise, yoga, bicycling, swimming, and my favorite, gardening!!! I am up to riding my exercise bike 4.5 miles and plan on getting a real bike to ride to the community pool this spring! Love your videos! Happy New Year and hello from SC!😊💕🎉🏝️🏠
I made lentil sloppy joe's for dinner last night. I included a yellow squash (grated), green onions and cherry tomatoes in the sauce. It was yummy and my son didn't even notice the extra veggies.
Good for you Shannon! I did notice your weight loss! I have been whole plant based no salt or oil for almost a year. If you have not found them yet, check out the Esselstyn Foundation along with Engine 2 and Be A Plant-Based Woman Warrior cookbooks. Enjoy your channel!👍🏻🥦🥬🫛🍎🍊🍉🍠🥔🧄
Every woman should read the intro/first chapter of "Be a Plant-based Woman Warrior!" I am allergic to soy so there are many recipes in that cookbook I have to 'work around but the still taste great! In modern times, nobody has died from low protein but the number of people dying from complications from obesity is skyrocketing. Hmmm, which would I rather have? A fridge full of veggies, or a monthly shot?
Omg, YAY! I can’t believe someone else has the Nescafé instant coffee too. I love that coffee❤ Here in Australia, we don’t put cream in our coffee, we have actual milk…..all sorts of milks. Melbourne and love our coffee ❤
Hi Shannon, wow! Great you changed the way you cook! I always try to cook healthy as possible also, its good for mind and body. Have 5 kilo's to much to carry with le now 😢 bit I'm disabled by rheumatism amd do my best to walk every day . Only drink water and coffee without suger or milk for years now, don't like anything else anymore 😊 But in the Netherlands here the wether was bad, so not enough exersice and some sweets aronlund the holidays brrr. Now living normaly again, and is going the right way 🕺👌 Love all your video's, inspiring and sweet. Bye bye, Anjo 👋👋🫂
You look fabulous. I have been vegan for five years & lapsed into more processed vegan food, this weekend I have just used up all, what was left from the holidays & getting back to whole foods. This weekend also I have read Good Energy by Casey Means,a great read.Happy New Year.❤
I am right there with you. I eat such a healthy diet and having a hard time dropping the creamer. I will try to buy a frother on line. I think if I get rid of this I can loose 20 as well. My go to is Nescafé instant as well usually. You look great. Do you eat yogurt or cottage cheese or are you dairy free? Thanks
We just got this small one called Gourmia, I think it came from Target. I am on the hunt for a nonplastic coffee maker because I recently started to see how bad all the plastic is for us. One more thing to think about lol
Omg same. I don't know how I managed without an airfryer before. Since getting one about 2 years now, I've never fried anything in oil. Btw I share healthy recipes on my channel if ur interested :)
I’m currently doing healthy cooking. And want to eliminate sugar and salt. I find it hard because I’m cooking for extra family members. And the younger children it’s a little hard for them to like. So I have to let them get a little different meal than from mine. Eventually I’ll get to cook just for my husband.
thank you, as of June 2024, i found out i have heart problems. drs said you have got to change your diet and less carbs and sodium, caffeine. started Mitterrandian diet and all my boxed meals or packaged just about anything we all ate had everything i need to cut out or lower or get rid of. have not lost weight due to my medicines and able to be as active as i use to be. but i did have my ablation of the heart .so now getting back to work and still watching and changing my diet. i hope to be my better self soon here in 2025. yes, please show more cooking and i have been doing more cook at home meals. my husband likes it more. anyway, i know i will post again on your sight so thank you again.
Thanks for letting us know how you have changed your eating habits. I fully agree with you. Maybe you give a homemade vegetable broth a try. It is easy to cook and saves money, too.
How do your sons like the tofu? If I can camouflage the the tofu maybe my 18 yr old son will like it. I too used that same coffee creamer. I changed to a lactose free milk. Worth the change. Great topic 🎉
Eat fruits and vegetables less sugar. Things we’ve been taught for generations. 😅 America just enjoys its fast food, large portions and overly processed snacks. We choose to eat it knowing it’s bad. We really have to examine our habits to make healthy changes.
Another benefit to mention: WFPB lowers the risk for heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, autoimmune diseases, many cancers… lowers risks and reverses 💚🌱 (I know you know… but viewers may not)
Can I ask what changes you make for the kids? Do you still buy processed foods for them? Have you cut out cheese? I didn't see any. Thank you for any advice you have. I have 3 kids and that's been the hardest part for us!
I am not going to lie, it's hard with the kids LOL. We have 3 extremely picky eaters. One that won't eat meat or anything that even resembles meat. The one that won't eat meat will eat cheese and the other one that eats meat won't touch anything with cheese LOL. At this point we serve a lot of sandwiches, fruit and veggies, not a lot of packaged stuff, but it's not easy and I don't have a lot of advice for this LOL. I know eventually they will grow up and eat more haha.
As you chop up your feesh veggies, put all your cut offs in the freezer. Once you fill a gallon bag or so, you can easily make your own veggie broth and toss what's left in compost. It is so easy to make the broth and you can freeze it
That is a great idea, I will definitely try that.

…maybe if the veggies are organic. All the pesticides and herbicides are not always removed even after a good wash.
Something I appreciate about a minimalist/simpler home is that now I have the time and energy to actually focus on my health which is so important. ☺️❤️ Thanks for the tips!
My daughter put us onto the benefits of the vegetarian lifestyle and I think this would be a great natural progression 😊
Yes! I feel this is a natural progression. =)

P.S. I hope this isn't TMI but my family has a history of colon cancer . In 2018 I had a colonoscopy and had a cancerous polyp removed. 2019/clear, 2024/all clear and very good "scope" per my doctor. "Clean as a whistle" not another one for 5 years now
I feel so much better and actually am! Not clogging up my body with junk.🎉🎉🎉
Weight/health/image isn't all about weight loss contrary to what a lot of society shows us
Glad I finally figured this out at age 56!!!🎉
Thank you for sharing your story! Yes, it's not about the "looks" =)
Good for you!!! I too am trying to change to this way of eating ❤🙌💪🏻
I share healthy recipes on my channel if ur interested :)🫰
I am Vegan but not WFBP but you inspired me.
Congratulations you look amazing ❤
Thank you for sharing all this information! You always look fabulous but it's nice to feel good about what we're putting into our bodies.
Thank you!
Congratulations! Thank you for sharing!
Yes, we go to the store more often, but honestly, it's a good thing, we are eating a lot more fresh fruits and veggies!
Olive oil is very good for you on salad. Not cooked but raw.
Your video inspires me to kick my sugar cravings. thank you so much for sharing! ❤
And we had lentil soup for dinner tonight, it was so good!! 😊
I just love your kitchen.
Congratulations! You look great! I have been vegan for 8 years but try to eat plant base whole food. Sugar is an issue.
Thank you for this video! Can you make another going thru a day of eating? Do you snack, and do you stop eating right after dinner? Also, I bet you would like Plantiful Kiki if you haven't found her yet, she has cookbooks and eats this way. WFPB and no oils. Love your videos!❤
Thank you! I can't wait to look her up, I am glad you shared her. I am always looking for good recipes and inspiration =)
I think tofu tastes like whatever seasoning you put on it. Sugar is so addicting and such a hard habit to break, it's a problem for me too.
I knew you had lost weight but not why. Thanks for explaining.. it all sounds interesting!❤
I love this video. I eat plant based but I have let the junk in lately and I’m trying to move toward WFPB. I hope you share more.
Thanks so much for sharing this journey with us!💖
Can I ask how you made the mushroom onion gravy? ☺️
really enjoyed this video!
Thank you so much for sharing Broccoli Mum, I am always looking for new recipes and ways to get inspired when cooking.
@@shannontorrens1 you are so welcome😀
Oh, I also freeze my veggie chili in those 1 cup silicone freezer molds as well. Such easy healthy lunches.
That’s a great idea! I will have to try that.
You looked great Shannon❤
Me too ,, I try my best to stay away from sugar and processed food
Keep it up Shannon
What’s your next home project???
Love your channel Shannon ❤
Thank you so much! Our next project is the kitchen =). We have already started a little work on it and I am super excited.
@ can’t wait to see your upgraded kitchen ❤️
I hope you and yours are safe! 🙏✨
Thank you for checking in. We are safe from the fires.
Hi Shannon! That is great that you lost 20 lbs but most of all, that you feel better and are healthier!
We aren't vegetarian or vegan (My husband loves his meat and is diabetic so is pretty much on a keto diet of protein and veggies, no sugar ) but we have definitely removed processed foods, sugar, premade foods and incorporated almost all Whole Foods in our diet
I haven't lost weight but have maintained a healthy weight which for me is between 150-155. I am also 61 yrs old so it is harder to lose weight
I am happy with my current weight , exercise, yoga, bicycling, swimming, and my favorite, gardening!!!
I am up to riding my exercise bike 4.5 miles and plan on getting a real bike to ride to the community pool this spring!
Love your videos! Happy New Year and hello from SC!😊💕🎉🏝️🏠
tank you for sharing, plantbased wholefood yeah -- I have been doing this for a very long time and it is so sustainable (in double sense)
Everything looks delicious! ❤
You look fabulous, dahing!!! Thank you for inspiring me!
I’m so glad the video inspired you!
I made lentil sloppy joe's for dinner last night. I included a yellow squash (grated), green onions and cherry tomatoes in the sauce. It was yummy and my son didn't even notice the extra veggies.
Can you share recipes? Everything you made on this video looks delicious!!
Thank you, I shared the lentil recipe in the description box. Everything else was just kinda thrown together.
Only drink water and coffee without suger or milk for years now, don't like anything else anymore 😊
But in the Netherlands here the wether was bad, so not enough exersice and some sweets aronlund the holidays brrr.
Now living normaly again, and is going the right way 🕺👌
Love all your video's, inspiring and sweet. Bye bye, Anjo 👋👋🫂
You look fabulous. I have been vegan for five years & lapsed into more processed vegan food, this weekend I have just used up all, what was left from the holidays & getting back to whole foods. This weekend also I have read Good Energy by Casey Means,a great read.Happy New Year.❤
The fake meats have SO many ingredients that baffle my mind. Thank you for your video! So inspiring! ❤
Shannon, I highly recommend Nut Pods creamer for your coffee! Good luck with cleaning up your diet. It's a challenge!
Nutpods is great! No oil or sugar in most of their flavors. I actually prefer the original.
Thank you so much for the recommendation!
Thanks
I hope you find that frother works for you. It might make a big difference. We are dairy free =)
May I ask what brand of coffee pot you have? Ty
We just got this small one called Gourmia, I think it came from Target. I am on the hunt for a nonplastic coffee maker because I recently started to see how bad all the plastic is for us. One more thing to think about lol
@shannontorrens1 yes which is why I asked you. I Googled stainless steel coffee makers...several choices.
@shannontorrens1 I'm going to begin roasting vegetables now. Thank for your video. I'm a picky shopper. I read labels.
Thank you for sharing that. I am currently updating some of our kitchen items to eliminate plastic and toxic things. =)
I myself have swapped to whole foods and have never felt better in my life. You're right it's a lifestyle not a diet.
Yes! This is definitely a lifestyle for us. I honestly don't see us going back to the way we ate before. =)
So true! I did the same. 👌
BTW I share healthy recipes on my channel if ur interested :)🫰
My air fryer has been a life saver. You can roast all your veggies and do fries with it. You will never miss frying again, and no oil. ❤
Omg same. I don't know how I managed without an airfryer before. Since getting one about 2 years now, I've never fried anything in oil. Btw I share healthy recipes on my channel if ur interested :)
We also eat this way. I have lost 24lbs. I enjoy DIllon and Reebs from Well Your World for great recipes. Thank you for this video.
Thanks for this video. I’m inspired!!
I’m currently doing healthy cooking. And want to eliminate sugar and salt. I find it hard because I’m cooking for extra family members. And the younger children it’s a little hard for them to like. So I have to let them get a little different meal than from mine. Eventually I’ll get to cook just for my husband.
Amazing! I would be interested watching if you shared some possible recipes
Congrats on the weight loss!
I can see a big difference! Definitely good to eliminate ultra processed foods!
thank you, as of June 2024, i found out i have heart problems. drs said you have got to change your diet and less carbs and sodium, caffeine. started Mitterrandian diet and all my boxed meals or packaged just about anything we all ate had everything i need to cut out or lower or get rid of. have not lost weight due to my medicines and able to be as active as i use to be. but i did have my ablation of the heart .so now getting back to work and still watching and changing my diet. i hope to be my better self soon here in 2025. yes, please show more cooking and i have been doing more cook at home meals. my husband likes it more. anyway, i know i will post again on your sight so thank you again.
I hope you have a healthy and happy 2025!
Thanks for letting us know how you have changed your eating habits. I fully agree with you. Maybe you give a homemade vegetable broth a try. It is easy to cook and saves money, too.
Thanks for the idea!
How do your sons like the tofu? If I can camouflage the the tofu maybe my 18 yr old son will like it. I too used that same coffee creamer. I changed to a lactose free milk. Worth the change. Great topic 🎉
My sons will eat the tofu if it's in something like a taco or mixed with other food. =)
@@shannontorrens1good idea. I will try with my son. ❤
Yes - these healthy foods also sihrink your stomach.
Eat fruits and vegetables less sugar. Things we’ve been taught for generations. 😅 America just enjoys its fast food, large portions and overly processed snacks. We choose to eat it knowing it’s bad. We really have to examine our habits to make healthy changes.
May I ask how tall you are? I threw out the plate of Christmas cookies after I saw your results!
Haha that is funny! I am 5 ft 6 in =)
I’m curious, why do you eat plant based?
We feel it's the healthiest option for us =)
Another benefit to mention: WFPB lowers the risk for heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, autoimmune diseases, many cancers… lowers risks and reverses 💚🌱
(I know you know… but viewers may not)
I’m afraid you lost me at plant based. But I still love your channel and I’m glad it’s working for you.
I understand! Everyone has to find what works for them.
Great! What is your main protein?
A friend makes tofu & sells it locally too.
We eat tofu, lots of lentils, and beans as our main sources. But of course there is a little protein in almost all food.
