If you have oil leaks around the engine, replacing the crankcase filter oil separator can fix that.
If your oil separator is bad and you don't fix it on time, it can mess with: turbo, gaskets, seals, oil consumption, etc,...

Hi I have a question
I have a 2013 freightliner cascadia, when I turn on the right signal it blinks very fast even when I check outside of the truck the light blinking fast on the front, side and rear. The light bulb looks fine can it be a fuse that needs to be replace, thanks

I replaced this filter one day ago in TA shop because oil was coming from it. But I found today my coolant level went down to half gallon in 350 and white smoke was coming from it in the evening when I parked my truck

Thanks for the explanation of how this works. Will this cause the engine to accelerate slowly or the truck to slow down when coming off the throttle? This is what mine is doing, in addition to spewing oil. Push the clutch in when coasting and the truck coasts freely instead of slowing down.
Great video Francisco. Quick question. About how much should I expect to spend to get oil leaks fixed around this engine? 2010 Cascadia DD15. It's leaking around the fuel rail on the intake side, and leaking everywhere on the exhaust side. Plus it's leaking from the back, up top somewhere. Engine runs great tho. Just have to always keep an eye on the oil level..

I changed the filter and it's leaking still. Seems to be leaking more. I also put a oil rag under breather and it's covered in oil coming out of breather on crankcase filter. Any suggestions 🤔

No, you don't have to drain the oil to remove the oil separator.
Lo cambie hace un mes y apenas me Volvio a tirar aceite y cuando abro donde la tapa del aceite sale mucho humo Blanco al igual q donde va la barilla para checar el aceite

Can you show how to stop water from leaking into on a 2014 Cascadia? Clearance lights? Windshield? The door seal is good. The water pools up in very heavy rain just overr the passenger side sun visor, towards the window,.it seems to be a common problem. Thanks

My crankcase breather started to leak heavily 2 months ago. I replaced it and the new one leaked a little bit right away from the same spot, the vent on the crank case breather, it failed and started to leak heavily like in the video. I got another one and the new one is leaking pretty bad from the vent as well, just like it is in the video. I didn’t notice any loss of power and I’m not loosing any coolant, I’m loosing oil a little bit because it’s leaking out but not like some people are stating there problem is where they loose a gallon after a few hours of driving. The dealer tested the cylinders and said they were all above 90%. They told me to do a dyno to have better testing results on what’s going on. They think the piston rings are all worn out equally and I need an over haul. My mileage is 711,000 it’s a 2015 cascadia DD15

Maybe there is cylinder than is leaking compression. I see nothing else.

How do I get rid of a permanent low def pressure fault? I had contaminated def. The tank has been cleaned, def lines have been cleaned out. Filters and screens have been replaced in the pump and metering unit. The metering unit has been taken apart and clean out. Def pump is new and pressure limiting unit as well. The truck is not using def right now and the code shows up permanent, not active. That's the only code being shown. It's a 2012 Cascadia with dd15. My mechanic doesn't know what to do and the dealer just wants to replace everything that we already cleaned out/replaced.
Replace the DEF metering valve with a new one and perform a DPF parked regen with the DDDL software to confirm the repair.

Hola Francisco tengo un cascadia 2010 dd15 le hice el overhaul hace 6 meses le puse el crankcase nuevo pero ahorita me tiró el aceite y el tanque de agua esta muy bajo, le chequé la tapa de el aceite y tiene como una tipo nata café. Estoy como a 20 millas de el taller podría correr el camión así o será mejor requiarlo?
Posiblemente una camisa se quebro

Hi Francisco I have a 2007 Columbia with that Detroit 60 series engine. Last few days I started getting smell of oil and I checked under the truck no oil on the ground but bottom of the engine is oily and I think around the crankshaft breather pipe is worse. Do u think I have a same problem?
