I followed your video setup by stereo, and it's fixed. I asked the mechanic to take this apart, clean it, replace the sensor and the gaskets. He said, I've never heard about this, I can't do it. For $104 I got the original kit from the store in cambridge, ON. Took me one hour to do it. I got 3 fault code, now fixed. This thing will cause 25% power loss and 10% fuel consumption increase. Thanks for your video.

I was on the road and mine plugged up on one side..zip tie didnt work but I used a thin cable and a drill ...the cable was from seal used on the doors of refrigerator Van's or box Van's...its flexible and strong enough to break through. Awesome video thanks

I consider this basic maintenance, along with cleaning the 7th. Injector port (on dd13, dd15). I clean them with a brass wire brush from a gun cleaning kit. It's also very important to maintain your air dryer or moisture in the air lines will cause your pressure limiting valve to fail.

I really can’t thank you enough for this kind of information. But I really would like to know your opinion on the Detroit DD 15 how good of the engine do you feel it is, and 2. How often would you say you should check those ports you’ve mentioned about in this video.
My personal experience with 13+ liter engines over the last decade has been mostly with Cummins and Detroit with some Cats thrown in before 2011. I've always liked Cummins but over this time they've been getting out shined by Detroit. They all have their share of problems but I just tend to prefer Detroit. Daimler trucks and Detroit are so integrated now, it tends to aid in diagnosing and troubleshooting with electrical and aftertreatment issues.. Which is what I tend to spend 90% of my time doing these days. As for the ports, I would say every 4 to 6 months. Maybe sooner if you frequent very wet/humid areas or when the temps float around the freezing point.
My truck been deleted. DPFs were removed but EGR wasn't blocked off like some guys have done. I received those egr codes recently. Spn 3058 and spn 2659 DD15 2016 cascadia Will blocking off the EGR cooler get rid of the codes and stop all that black smoke, leaving my exhaust?
Thank you for the video. The problem im having is getting the v pipe off. Did you use a short socket and 3 inch extententiin or a long socket. Thanks in advance.
MC Transport Condensation from temperature changes like he said at the beginning of the video. All air, even air that flows the engine contains moisture. Compressing this air along with those temperature changes creates condensation... water!
Thank you for the video very simple and easy explanation. I am having the same problem right now. I will be disassembling the unit and checking for sudden blockage. Hopefully that fixes the issue you probably just saved me about $1500 at the dealer.

Hey we have a few 2016-2019 freightliner and KW trucks with the cummins motors. We have replaced the EGR cooler on ALL of them around 90-110k miles. I am afraid the coolant is leaking into the EGR again and we are going to have to replace them, again. Any idea what gives? Or anything I can do to help it? I would love to delete all that BS but I am unsure about doing that.. (yet)..
Paul B. I'm pretty sure that code crosses over to Cummins Fault Code 3382. "EGR System - Data valid but below operating range - Moderately severe level" The measured EGR flow is lower than the ECU wants to see. This can be caused by the same problem covered in this video. Also, leaks or restrictions in the EGR system (pipes, EGR valve, EGR cooler, etc) A stuck EGR valve or even VGT problems. The sensor ports are where I would start though.
thanks for the quick reply, so I took off the pressure sensor and I blow air into one of the ports and there is no air coming out from the other one. Does that mean that the egr Is plugged up?
you said the ports have a bend in them. true on the early dd engines. the later venturi's have a straight port to help alleviate the plugging problem. there is an update kit with new venturi pipe, delta p sensor, and corresponding connector replacement. also some of the kits were packaged incorrectly from the vendor to ddc. the delta p sensor should ALWAYS be level front to back. if not, you have the wrong venturi pipe for that engine. and a quick explanation of what the sensor is doing. the sensor measures pressure difference (egr does not flow thru the sensor) between the high side and low side which the ecm can then calculate egr flow. if the port gets plugged the ecm believes there is NO egr flow and slams the egr valve wide open under all engine conditions. obviously at low speed the engine cannot swallow that much and stumbles and smokes and cant pull a greasy string out of a cats azz and of course throws a code. egr gas is inert (no oxygen) so if the ecm is pushing fuel into the engine it cannot burn without oxygen and smokes like an old freight train filling the dpf prematurely . one thing leads to another.

hello sir i have paccar mx 13 and i have code on my dosh monitor #4 injector data and egr delta sensor . i already change injector but my check engine still on and both code is still on plus my engine is derated . any help please
You're right it is Engine Retarder fault. This is usually a problem on the truck side since the switch signal is Multiplexed through the MSF. There could be a problem with the switch itself or the Subbus switch pack it sits in. I would at least pull it out and make sure the contacts are clean.
I have the same problem. Did you ever figure it out? I've had my truck in 3 shops. They're telling me that the problem is the sam cab and the dealer is the only place with the software to fix it
Which engine are you running? I ask because I'm almost positive I've seen some of these with a Cummins engine that were wired a bit different. They picked up constant power for the compressor at the Starter positive terminal and controlled it on the ground side. If the starter has been changed recently, is possible to forget that little ring terminal. The SAM cab needs to see engine rpm, proper voltage and a good reading from the pressure transducer to engage the clutch. Without a look at what it sees (Software), it can be tough to verify this.
@@TheDieseler I have EGR probs and fault codes that popped up talked a lot about egr pressures. I’m at a pilot right next door to a Pete shop so hopefully that could be all my problem is. Will this turn on and say. Fuel pressure is low. I have engine light an check engine light on. It has a hard time picking up speed. Also my fuel said I was low but not its tell me its not and my oil psi goes up and down. Fuel filter is clean. Coolent is not leaking at all and look under I see dry oil under but when I run it no oil leak check the oil stick my oil is not low.
It sounds like your Fuel Quantity Control Valve needs replaced, and your low Oil pressure sounds like your Oil Pump/ Pick Up Tubes have bad SEALS in your Oil Pan. These need to be checked for wear and replaced if the Pick-Up tubes are loose. Also, check the Oil Breather Filter/Oil Separator if it's clogged or leaking oil where it's mounted on the block. If you see any oil leaking from the Oil Breather Filter then change gasket with new Separator. This will cause low Oil pressure if clogged or leaks. th-cam.com/video/iEypTfa6Y2s/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/MIcVtIiiB6M/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/MLcs8oDk1Ss/w-d-xo.html I hope these help you.
It's on the venturi pipe. Passenger side of engine. Follow pipe from egr cooler towards radiator. That pipe sometimes is green (if original) and black ( if it was replaced with new upgraded pipe). It is right above and in front of ac compressor.

Paul B. I'm pretty sure that code crosses over to Cummins Fault Code 3382. "EGR System - Data valid but below operating range - Moderately severe level"
The measured EGR flow is lower than the ECU wants to see. This can be caused by the same problem covered in this video. Also, leaks or restrictions in the EGR system (pipes, EGR valve, EGR cooler, etc)
A stuck EGR valve or even VGT problems. The sensor ports are where I would start though.
thanks for the quick reply, so I took off the pressure sensor and I blow air into one of the ports and there is no air coming out from the other one. Does that mean that the egr Is plugged up?
Paul B. Both ports must flow air freely into the intake. It's very common to have one completely plugged
I got idpf in pressure..dpf out pressure ..def pressure sensor..and sensor volt 1 04 spn 3509..can someone help me out
How do I get the screw out if one is stripped
Open it and cleaning it
you said the ports have a bend in them. true on the early dd engines. the later venturi's have a straight port to help alleviate the plugging problem. there is an update kit with new venturi pipe, delta p sensor, and corresponding connector replacement. also some of the kits were packaged incorrectly from the vendor to ddc. the delta p sensor should ALWAYS be level front to back. if not, you have the wrong venturi pipe for that engine. and a quick explanation of what the sensor is doing. the sensor measures pressure difference (egr does not flow thru the sensor) between the high side and low side which the ecm can then calculate egr flow. if the port gets plugged the ecm believes there is NO egr flow and slams the egr valve wide open under all engine conditions. obviously at low speed the engine cannot swallow that much and stumbles and smokes and cant pull a greasy string out of a cats azz and of course throws a code. egr gas is inert (no oxygen) so if the ecm is pushing fuel into the engine it cannot burn without oxygen and smokes like an old freight train filling the dpf prematurely . one thing leads to another.
Thank you for these brilliant details . Great stuff!
great info bro thanks
I'm so glad I bought a pre-emissions truck, don't have to deal with this bullshit!
Antonovich
I’ve two truck one pre and one post. I haul cars and I make more (35%-45%) money with the newer truck than my old truck because I go to commie country (west coast and east coast) specially Commiefornia.
Thanks!
No problem! Hope it was helpful.
Can you help me please i got ENG Low 12s277 01 comes and go any idea
good stuff
hello sir i have paccar mx 13 and i have code on my dosh monitor #4 injector data and egr delta sensor . i already change injector but my check engine still on and both code is still on plus my engine is derated . any help please
+Lion Arm Sorry, I've had almost no experience dealing with Paccar Engines.
I have a freightliner cascadia 2014 this cold spn 973 fml 13 comeing out and says engin break
engine retarder selection signal missing
I looked up the code and this came out
But a buddy saying it's the egr
You're right it is Engine Retarder fault. This is usually a problem on the truck side since the switch signal is Multiplexed through the MSF. There could be a problem with the switch itself or the Subbus switch pack it sits in. I would at least pull it out and make sure the contacts are clean.
Cascadia a/c clutch plug no power any idea what cause
@@TheDieseler 2012 DD13 engine. I have a Sam cabin A/C clutch compressor circuit shorted to ground code. Haven't replaced the starter
Wouldn’t a similar problems happen
On Paccar engines?
I have little to no experience with the Paccar engines but it's very possible.
@@TheDieseler I have EGR probs and fault codes that popped up talked a lot about egr pressures.
I’m at a pilot right next door to a Pete shop so hopefully that could be all my problem is.
Tomorrow morning I’ll call the shop to see if they have the iRt and I’ll take a look at the one I have now. If I see soot mud ... stuff on my sensor I’ll replace it...
Thank you just the same for letting me pick your brain on this matter.
? Will it be ok to just block off tube that leads to intake manifold and just leave the original EGR valve alone, will gases still return back to engine
and will it still set off a code..... if done this way.
Lol. You will have NO TURBO, and the SOOT levels will clog the Egr, Venturi Pipe, and Delta Pressure sensor.
Comprar uno nuevo es mejor las dos cosas $150 en el dealer y ya sensor y el gascket,i put new sensor and the other part for $150 at dealer chip it’s going to be better
Dicen que venden el kit completo con la pipa esto en necesario o solo el sensor y ya ? Q me recomienda
@@aleman876 Great 👍 thanks a lot bro
Will this turn on and say. Fuel pressure is low. I have engine light an check engine light on. It has a hard time picking up speed. FED light didnt come one I change the doser valve it was black it work a little but I still have the problem. FED light never came on at this point.

I hope these help you.
i was hoping you were going to show where to just turn this off for good, for us egr deleted guys
You're wanting to pay a hefty FINE. LOL.
Do you know where this sensor is located in a Volvo D13?
It's on the venturi pipe. Passenger side of engine. Follow pipe from egr cooler towards radiator. That pipe sometimes is green (if original) and black ( if it was replaced with new upgraded pipe). It is right above and in front of ac compressor.
I change the all thing and still give me the code
What happens if the clip breaks?
I've had good luck with using a steamer and air to clear those ports
fkg egr, how i delete it

2 mechanics cleaned and tried to fix my egr light and it still pops on..2004 Hyundai Santa Fe 98,000 miles.. anyone know what could be the issue??
Ford commercials suck!
Delete it and stop worrying!!
