@@E_Fig05 It is a quiet, windy, winter day at 5pm in Canada. You had just come back from eating an early dinner. You find a small, but quiet log cabin with smoke coming out of the chimney. You enter as the door is propped open. The second you step in, all of your worries fade away, and you spot a man in plaid pants and a gray sweater smoking a pipe. Kinda recently I used them to get the Mother 3 Switch Icons when those were available. First time in forever I actively used My Nintendo, but hey, I'm happy having the Ultimate Chimera as my Switch Icon.
The reason they probably have the rewards for interacting with their websites is because it's a super low effort way that they can satisfy the "no purchase necessary" law for sweepstakes.

Maybe not in the general gaming sphere, but Dragalia Lost was very beloved in the gacha community (which is larger than people expect). I don't think it will ever be forgotten there, especially since it's the prime example of "too much kindness can kill".
I hope it won't be forgotten; my friend loves it so much he's showing me uploads of the story and everything. My Nintendo is one of those things that I just question when I go in there. I got my account when 3D Allstars came out and saved up for a little case. The case is practically useless and the posters (which I also got later on) are better but it’s still neat. It’s free so I recommend anyone with a Nintendo account getting it but it’s not a big thing if you don’t
You do need to pay for shipping. I bought a Mario Kart lanyard back in 2021 (they don't offer it anymore?) with silver points, & I then had to pay $8 shipping. It's pretty cool but I realized in a recent visit to the website that the ID paper on the inside of the lanyard is now being offered as a free printable under Phones/PC rewards. :(
MyNintendo has had a few (emphasis on few) good physical things. I got the Splatoon x Pokémon keychains and they’re neat doodads that sit on my shelf. The UK got some sweet Gameboy posters that I’d love for NA to get as well
I miss club Nintendo so much. Even right now the rewards like a string backpack or an acrylic pin are such low quality. Still got some of the amazing posters and music CDs!
One of my favorite memories with My Nintendo was trying to get those Mario 35th anniversary pin sets in the middle of online classes. Their website just could NOT handle the traffic. I kept refreshing and I managed to get both sets. Pretty happy with those.
Not really a big loss honestly. A few themes, Flipnote 3D, and a picross game. Back in the day, you could get tons of themes for free, discounts on a bunch of games, etc. Then they just randomly stopped doing it and that page sat dead for years. I really think that they should integrate Switch stuff on the site now in a similar way. Let us finally get themes for example.
I think the physical items are definitely a step in the right direction, but not enabling customers to earn their points in any other ways than clicking the weekly mii and occasionally finding secret game things is dumb
For anyone who says we're just looking back at Club Nintendo with rose-tinted glasses, we're not. Their physical rewards were more often of a higher quality and with free shipping, and they offered heavily-discounted or even free games all the time. My Nintendo doesn't even begin to compare.
It's really sad how the transition from 2016 to 2017 was when it came to Nintendo's consumer aspect. So much of the funny community stuff they did during the 3ds and wii u stuff just got drained away, be it Nintendo Rewards, Miiverse, 3ds themes, etc. They're not necessities, but they were a great bonus for being a nintendo fan beyond just the games
Those perks may have came back, but once the switch turned out to be a non stop money printing machine for their company, they lost all incentive to try harder to attract fans with better service. May also have something to do with the new president, idk.
As someone who's gotten a damn Gold Rush worth of Platinum Coins from playing FE Heroes over the last 6 years (yes, I am depressed), I've actually grown to really love My Nintendo if I'm honest. I just let my points build up as I naturally play the mobile games and explore the dumb websites, and can occasionally spend like $5 in shipping to receive tons of Nintendo merchandise from the store. Plus, some of the rewards like that Splatfest keychain set are genuinely cool! I can say with certainty that I've already gotten more out of My than I ever did with Club. I mean sure, one gave me Pikmin 3 for free and the other gave me a desktop calendar, but to that I'd say "checkmate."
@@notsyzagts7967 what I mean is that with that sweater Scott looks really smart, and it’s weird for really smart people to also be really funny, especially in the way that Scott is funny. I got so into Miitomo and AC: Pocket Camp back in the day…exclusively for that Twilight Princess picross. TP was my fave game at the time, and I was so afraid that they would take it down before I could save up enough coins for it. High school me could’ve saved so much stress knowing it would still be up like 7 years later
great example of the sweepstakes improving, the one for metroid prime remastered has a metal art plate and a hoodie, neither of which are available otherwise. and hey there are platinum point missions on switch
I remember the Annual Rewards depending on your membership level of club nintendo. I think I got some weird mario/donkey kong game. More importantly, I remember getting the 3-poster set which featured pikmin, toon link, and Mario. It was cool as a kid to get something real mailed to you “for free”
I feel like this video isn’t complete without talking how Mynintendo integrates to the switch online app (using platinum points for icons, the monthly missions to play certain games for platinum points, etc.) platinum points add like a meta layer of gaming that sort of act like PlayStation’s achievements, and while they could be pushed farther, they’ve never had more of a point than in the last year or so.
The posters were so badass I actually got them framed. I also liked the Mario posters, but those weren't holographic so they're just pinned to the wall for me.
Let me just say, I love the splatoon tote bag from the store. I have it in my car and it's almost as big as an Ikea bag. It's so useful for food shopping, shopping trips or whatever the heck I'm doing.
27:03 I got the Warioware pin set and a calendar on MyNintendo, I can confirm, yes you *DO* have to pay shipping for these items, but for a freebie, that's not bad.
My wife and I got really into Miitomo for a little bit. We spent a lot of time trying to get the wedding dresses and just fell off after that. Wish I knew about My Nintendo when I was playing.
On the console Gold can be used to by games Platinum can be used for profile picture maker Theres are also missions like: Play online Play a game trial Log in
The peak of Scott’s content is this, him just going on a 30+ video giving thoughts on a random Nintendo niche subject. Much prefer this over the bits on the main channel.
This is overwhelmingly refreshing, I personally find his meta humor and skits to be a little too frequent/over the top on his normal stuff. If he struck a balance between that and how Whimsu handles humor and info, I'd be a much bigger fan.
the most common place platinum points can be spent is actually locked behind nintendo online too :-/ . You can use them to buy icon elements, usually switching themes each month with characters and backgrounds you can use for icons! (like animal crossing will do whoever's birthdays are that month) sucks that it's locked behind money, thanks nintendo! > also to add on, you can gain platinum points more frequently with online too. usually logging in and checking on the 'nintendo online' sector will give you a few. icons + backgrounds usually cost 10 points each iirc
I got one thing off My Nintendo, and I'm convinced it's pretty cool... It was a 8 game switch case with a reversible cover art of the switch and its controllers. Japanese format box as well so the text on the spine wasn't centred like other PAL games
I am so happy you made of video about this. I’ve always been pissed about the rewards on the My Nintendo website it’s literally a insult to Nintendo players
I miss the old Nintendo rewards. I saved up enough pts to redeem a Mario Blue Blooper Paper Hand Fan. An actual hand fan! I still have it to this day. It was so cool to have this physical merch that really felt like a reward for being a loyal customer.

@@notsyzagts7967 what I mean is that with that sweater Scott looks really smart, and it’s weird for really smart people to also be really funny, especially in the way that Scott is funny. I don’t mean he usually looks dumb, he just looks rather generic, and I’m not complaining about that either. And what does that say about me?
@@notsyzagts7967 youtube is the only place along with twitter where well articulated sentences still get misinterpreted
"you expect dumb and strange" bitch halt. that is a completely different sentence. the fuck are you talking about.
I like how Scott’s Stash is just a really chill version of Scott the Woz, it feels more natural.
Scott Just made My Nintendo Relevant again, Thanks Scott 👍

For those wondering, they actually do count. I bought so many games around New Years and the gold points are there.
Scott The Woz style video on Scott’s Stash? Cool
I remember the Annual Rewards depending on your membership level of club nintendo. I think I got some weird mario/donkey kong game. More importantly, I remember getting the 3-poster set which featured pikmin, toon link, and Mario. It was cool as a kid to get something real mailed to you “for free”
Oh my god it’s Scott Wozniak’s evil clone, Stash!
Those Metroid Dread posters are legit though. I always like looking at the physical stuff on there.
The posters were so badass I actually got them framed. I also liked the Mario posters, but those weren't holographic so they're just pinned to the wall for me.
Once in a while there is some cool physical rewards
Let me just say, I love the splatoon tote bag from the store. I have it in my car and it's almost as big as an Ikea bag. It's so useful for food shopping, shopping trips or whatever the heck I'm doing.
I might get it now…. I was going to get the splatoon keychains but I was wondering the quality! I was thinking about the other Kirby keychain
Scott in a turtleneck looks sweet
Scott in a cashmere sweater is not a look I expected, but one I really like
27:03 I got the Warioware pin set and a calendar on MyNintendo, I can confirm, yes you *DO* have to pay shipping for these items, but for a freebie, that's not bad.
damn Scott low key startin' to give off young dilf vibes with that sweater
this feels like a calm scott the woz video
gotta love Scott
you do have to pay shiping witch is 20 for 2 day 6.99 for 4-9 day shipping
My wife and I got really into Miitomo for a little bit. We spent a lot of time trying to get the wedding dresses and just fell off after that. Wish I knew about My Nintendo when I was playing.
Sorry to break it to you but this is an April Fool’s video
@MaxOakland what?
@@TheSapphicHammerle My Nintendo wasn't real. It was just a prank
@@MaxOakland my life is a lie!
On the console
Gold can be used to by games
Platinum can be used for profile picture maker
Theres are also missions like:
Play online
Play a game trial

HES DOING IT! HES EVOLVING!
the diy printable stuff were cool as a kid, i remember doing those, but that was when they were free on play nintendo lol
I remember getting DK Tropical Freeze for free back on Club Nintendo, so this still feels like a drastic step down.
I got one thing off My Nintendo, and I'm convinced it's pretty cool... It was a 8 game switch case with a reversible cover art of the switch and its controllers. Japanese format box as well so the text on the spine wasn't centred like other PAL games
I like to think that Scott's Mac and his PC (in the background) like to give each other death glares.
I redeemed a PAIR OF SHOELACES back in the day. Also a gray shirt with 8bit Nintnedo characters. Still have'em, never used. I'll sell'em to ya!
scott, you genuinely look stunning in that outfit.
Thanks.
I am so happy you made of video about this. I’ve always been pissed about the rewards on the My Nintendo website it’s literally a insult to Nintendo players
You don't know the meaning of a *real* insult until you've met me, kiddo.
Heh... Heh heh...
interesting that this was filmed in 2022, i wonder if scott just has a bunch of videos filmed that he hasn’t released
iirc this is part of the trading card videos so hes finally uploading them separate from the holiday event
This looks like a Scott the Woz mini I like that.
9:46 Scott says Dragalia Lost, I feel so validated!
I wish it got a remaster or Switch port. It was really good.
Losties rejoice, Scott says "Dragalia Lost"
Losties forever!
Makes me really miss club nintendo
Hey I’ve seen this one before it’s a classic
I miss the old Nintendo rewards. I saved up enough pts to redeem a Mario Blue Blooper Paper Hand Fan. An actual hand fan! I still have it to this day. It was so cool to have this physical merch that really felt like a reward for being a loyal customer.
Scott acting normal like this really breaks the image of "crazy Polish twink screaming at video games"
Crazy that you’ve been holding onto this video for 5 months, never change Scott ❤
Cable knit sweater Scott makes me feel things.
Guys have you ever seen scotts stash and scott the woz in the same room
