  • This loop walk in the western Mamores take in the two Munros of Mullach nan Coirean and Stob Ban. Starting at Achriabhach in Glen Nevis from NN145683 the good path takes you up through the wood at the start. Go right at the hairpin bend once you hit the forest track and follow it round for approx 800m and you will see a cairn on the left with a good path heading upwards.
    A good day with little wind and cloud moved in and out around the tops.

    Hello Charlie, did this exact walk back in 1999 in perfect weather and absolutely loved it. I’ve never been back but I’ll never forget it. The Mamores are a fantastic set of hills. Thanks for the videos.

      Hi Paul, The Mamores are a great grouping of tops in a dramatic area. Planning to get around them through the season and tidy them up in a couple of visits. Winter looks to be over in the hills with the snow getting a big shift which will give the opportunity for some bigger days. Cheers, Charlie

      Hello, We had expected things to be slightly better on the weather front but can't complain. Light winds and no rain is always a bonus. Torridon a clear day is just magic and easily one of the best glens in Scotland.... hope your walk end well. Cheers, Charlie.

    Hi, Charlie.
    Michael and I did thirteen Munros in five days round there in August 1996 so the summits are a bit of a blur in the memory, except Stob Ban which I agree is the standout.
    The quartzite was a wee bit dull a couple of days ago but at least it didnae rain on you.

    • @charliemccartney7055
      @charliemccartney7055  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Geoffrey, The Mamores give a great walking challenge within a relatively short distance. They are certainly better left for a clear day to get the full appreciation of the group and the spectacular surrounding tops. Glen Nevis takes a bit off beating. Cheers, Charlie.

      Hi Robin, Its been 7 years since our last visit too these two so it was great to be back. Weather was expected to be better but we’ve done these in tee shirts and blue skies so we already have a good appreciation of the views. We’ve ticked the winter over box… as the snow has had a big shift over the as couple of weeks. Looking north, there is very little snow on the tops to the far north. Cheers, Charlie.

      Hi Tracey, There is a good path all the way on this route and it honestly doesn't matter the direction. If the day is settled then perhaps clockwise gives you the super views of Stob Ban with the light at your back. Have a great day as this group of tops are magic. Cheers, Charlie
