  • A trip round to Glen Nevis an the Mamores on a toasty hot day in April. We parked up in the lower falls car park and headed up Stob Bàn via Coire a' Mhusgain, where we were given some beautiful views back down the corrie to Glen Nevis.
After a short scramble up Stob Bàn's eastern ridge, we were surprised when we clambered over yet another chunk of quartzite to find the flat summit.
We followed the ridge west around Coire Dearg to reach Mullach nan Coirean, where we could see Ben Nevis in its full glory. After, we headed down the north eastern ridge to meet the Allt a'Choire Riabhach and followed forest tracks back to the car.
Perfect weather, perfect route, perfect day out! :)

Stob Ban. Unforgettable. Because it is the only Munro I have bagged after midnight. My light was visible from the glen to the south, where food and a tent for the night was waiting.

Sounds like a magical night Tony. Must have been like walking on another planet up there at midnight. Definately an unforgettable mountain.

@@ScottishMountainGoat It was quite a dark night, although it was early summer there was no moon and light cloud cover. The white quartz still shone out in the poor light. It was an absolutely unforgettable experience.

Another great vlog Kris. I was there on Sunday, I swapped my original destination choice at the last minute from Ben Oss & Beinn Dubuchraig, to Stob Ban & Mullach Nan Coirean. It was a roasting, but epic day for a truly spectacular mountain. Loved every minute of it, and I loved watching every minute of this vlog.
    Keep climbing my friend,
    Douglas. 😁🙌🏼⛰🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hey Kris, I've had to come over to your channel again to reply. Totally weird. 😕
I've only got 3 cans of real Irn Bru left, 😔 bought them last year.
The pack on the Devil's Ridge was fine as I didn't have all that water and less food too. It was the first Munro I noticed my pack pulling me a bit.
    Cheers
    Robin

What an epic climb! You got the perfect day. I am thinking of doing these in the next few weeks but am wary of the ridge walk between the peaks as I usually walk solo and tend to avoid them because of this. Is it a relatively safe walk? Thanks.

    • @ScottishMountainGoat
      @ScottishMountainGoat  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Hey Robyn, The ridge walk between the two is very easy, just a normal walk but with great views! The only part I remember being a bit tricky was the scramble up to the top of Stob Ban, There's a large drop to your right near the summit that's easy to avoid if the weathers clear but might be a little dodgy if its heavy fog. If there's snow up there though, it would be dangerous without the proper gear and knowledge. Hope this helps! Kris.

Great video mate, it's been a good while since I was last up there, so it's good to jog the old memory.
BTW, I'm not being rude, not replying to your comments on my channel, I can view them, but not reply. Weird. 😕
    Cheers
