Star Citizen Simpit - Gaming Cockpit Systems Overview - 2020 Version

  • The simpit was designed to be used primarily with Star Citizen, however, it was also designed to be used for Flight Sims and to play any regular games.
    Use referal code for 5000 UEC| www.robertsspa...
    Our Star Citizen Org| robertsspacein...
    Streaming | / jaguarmg
    Feature List:
Most of the hardware was built from scratch, excepting any retail items such as sticks, etc.
    Simpit Integrated Displays
3 Displays on the main dash
    1 Heads Down main display
2 MFD displays coupled with Thrustmaster MFD Cougar controls
All integrated displays can make use of or be the target of projected scenes with plugins/custom interface elements, other players points of view, or to manage and run other programs. MFDs can control other programs without the need to Alt-tab between windows via hotkeys. Custom configurable interface elements on a per game basis can be run on each display.
    Holographic Display / Targeting Computer
Uses a 'peppers ghost' type hologram to display a transparent overlay in real time of a gunner or another players point of view. This does not block the main display thanks to the hologram being transparent. This can be either done locally, or with extreme low latency streaming. It can also act as a 4th auxilary monitor. It is on an articulated piston arm, allowing it to be moved to anywhere needed.
    Integrated Simpit controls
All buttons/switches/dials etc. are functional, able to send USB joystick input to the PC which can be bound in games. All panels attach magnetically and can be replaced for different styles, or a change in the location of the controls.
    Responsive Landing System
Landing gear indicator lights that match in game state, including automated landing.
    Autopilot Panel
Acts as a button box, or an autopilot toggle for more serious flight sims. Has the ability to be programed on the fly without sending input.
    Articulated Accessories
Keyboard, mouse, and G13 gamepad trays allow what conventional controls you need to be moved into reach to convenient locations, or stowed away quickly.
    Conventional Hardware (Current Configuration)
    Main Display
    5120x1440 120hz 32:9 Super Ultrawide 49" VA
Right Stick - Virpil Constellation Alpha
Left Stick - Virpil Constellation Delta with Omnidirectional Throttle mod (A modification to the mounting of the left stick, using a custom angled adapter for the Virpil/Warthog style threads. This aligns the twist axis to an up/down direction to match the coresponding strafe)
    MFG Crosswind pedals
Wireless TrackIR sensor, attached to a wireless headset for full freedom.
A standard desktop machine can be connected to the chasis, and due to a custom modular connection, can be powered on via power buttons on the simpit, rather than the PC. All components can be removed without soldering/desoldering.
Chasis cabinet containing the PC hardware, and the simpit hardware is vented by mesh panels and 4 200mm fans.

Amazing craftsmanship! Well done! While you have an existing "big target" trackball, consider swapping the mouse for a more ergonomic trackball! Once you get used to them, they're pretty fantastic - saves some nerve pinching too (as I can imagine sitting in this thing for hours at a time).

Hey After Image, your setup is amazing and definitely inspiring. I was hoping you could give me some help with your adapter setup for the left stick, that's the best solution I've seen and would like to implement it myself. Did you buy the parts or make them? I'm hoping to achieve the dream setup.

Three questions... 1. Are there any recent updates to your setup? 2. How big is this setup? 3. Since the Constellation Delta is no longer available, would the Alpha-L work?

    • @AfterimageFlight
      @AfterimageFlight  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I'd recommend checking out this video and the rest of the playlist for the setup. It also talks about using the Delta/Alpha in the configuration. th-cam.com/video/WEyMyPt3K0A/w-d-xo.html
The setup is 46" wide, 36" tall for the top of the dash, and about 60" long. The overhead section extends up about 5 feet.
