    This is just absolutely amazing, this is the first video I came across and I see such an advanced setup like this and am completely out of words for how impressed I am. The complexity while still retaining usefulness as well as being incredibly versatile is amazing. You could probably do the AWACS role in ace combat with a setup like this without even needing the AWACS ship.

    also using discord's streaming for looking at my squad's POV, now feels must-have for PS2, Foxhole. three 16:9 streams fits almost perfectly on second vertical-flipped monitor without any adjustments :D but sadly internet here not always able to manage all of this together
    two of squad theoretically can share screen somehow through local network which shoud be way faster but idk about any software able to do this. maybe you can advise something? to understand context one mate is in same (very small) city on same internet provider so we can establish local connection, and another is my wife and here is we just located in one home :D so we just connected through same router

    • @AfterimageFlight

  • @TroutBoneless
    @TroutBoneless ปีที่แล้ว

    This could totally be used for some shitty stream sniping bs, but for use with friendlies this is a very interesting idea. It could be very useful for CIG to implement a system where some larger ships have a row of displays with cameras, perhaps even on turrets, that the pilot can glance at

  • @reltius2993
    @reltius2993 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    1) OK I'm not fully understanding something. In order to do this you have to have your friends stream on twitch too? And OBS somehow captures their screen from it with this projector feature with little to no delay?
    So to clarify there is no way to do this without your copilot streaming to twitch? (or being physically in your same room and dual outputting their display).
    2) I have three cougar MFDs with 800x600 screens mounted behind them in my setup, used for DCS, but I'd like to get some use out of them for Star Citizen.
    I like your rotating ship model you have on one of yours. How/where did you get those spinning 3d images of the ships?
    3) You should consider selling your 3D model plans. Doesn't appear like you need the money though :P

    • @AfterimageFlight
      @AfterimageFlight  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's no way to do it without using some form of streaming/local capture/display mirroring currently. The best option is Discord, Guilded or Parsec streaming, though we mostly use Discord, some other people have mentioned that they have found the others to be useful. Twitch is still too much latency to be practical compared to Discord, or at least the last time it was tried, even on low latency mode. Local is obviously even better.
      I captured some rotations from holoviewer models and recolor/choma keyed them. robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/ships/hurricane/Hurricane Scroll down until you get to Technical Overview and choose Holo Viewer. It has no practical use, but it does serve as a demonstration/default behaviour for the MFD when nothing is displayed.
      Unfortunately there is no 3D model plans - this was all constructed by hand the old fashioned way.

    • @reltius2993
      @reltius2993 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AfterimageFlight excellent thank you very much. Very clever. I’ll play around with it if I ever find an org to join and ask them to stream in discord when going out in the redeemer xD.
      I’d like some way to setup a voice channel in one of these programs that has defined roles as each “room” that players could claim, but everyone could still talk to the parent room, the whole redeemer, and then that redeemer can hear and talk to other ships in the fleet.
      But it would be nice if when they streamed from each location the corresponding MFD would show them. Meaning whoever streams from the “Left Turret Gunner” room would come up on the left MFD.
      I think we’ll get there eventually if it’s not possible yet. A game like star citizen will require that kind of need. Definitely something Guilded should look at to pull more from discord

      @@AfterimageFlight I thought it was really cool, it was one of my first trips out ROC mining and I guess I didn't have my ship locked. After the guy walked on board with me, I started telling the guy to get off my ship so I could leave not so nicely eventually. He exited, I shut the Ramp then I locked all the doors that could reach the Bridge and took off. Also knowing he had time to get back on and shut my ramp lol. He called, typed "now i'm going to kill you" in chat. So I turned on cruise control pointed to space and went in the tunnels and headed to engineering (Saw my QT drive in the call so I knew where he was). As soon as we were out of armistice I opened the tunnel door to engineering and smoked his ass 😂🤣
      Edit: weenie bag had the audacity to press charges on me lmao.

    This game desperately needs to add some sort of landing instrumentation like Elite has. I much prefer SC but this is one thing Elite does well and I really hope it is on CIGs list at some point. Switching into an external view is not very immersive not to mention awkward as you fumble with camera controls and flying at the same time.

    • @Spelljammer1
      @Spelljammer1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. It's a bit better when you have 3rd person camera controls on your HOTAS setup, breaks immersion less. But still, landing mode visualisation is needed.

    • @DarthPoyner
      @DarthPoyner 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has been addressed that they want to add something like a landing view that is separate from the normal camera. Special landing lights that can be turned on or off plus the landing camera that can have lowlight/infra on it.
      What I really hope for is APIs that will allow a better setup of these separate monitors. Having to run the game with high graphics and then OBS plus loading streams of other players means that you will need a beefy machine. I would rather have these things available from the game client. OR, maybe a setup using Raspberry Pis or lesser machines to provide the views.

    I don’t think obs is good enough for this, cloud imperium should give you the option of party member/alternate seat viewpoints for mfd’s.
    That way there can be like anti cheat applied to it and shit so people can’t hack and get viewpoints of people outside their party.
    Maybe the anti cheat can auto verify that if you’re using obs, you’re not using it somehow for getting a viewpoint you’re not supposed to get.
