Great work, no need to justify yourself on the internet to strangers, we all have the same hobby, simulation, that's why we watch your videos again great work, and keep it up!
Well done fella, this is really nice... just some finishing issues that you already know about. The hard work and dedication to this shouldn't go unnoticed and you chose to spend money where it counted for you. I love VR but can't afford it, if a giant pile of money fell in my lap though, it would be spent on a nice wrap around setup such as yours along with all the hard work that goes with it! Be proud and looking forward to seeing some more in game footage!

Love your work man. Not as expensive as I thought it would be. Hope you get some sponsorships soon keep up the good work look forward to your next project whatever it may be
Paint all the walls darker (black or dark grey) to not have return reflected light to the projector screens, you will get better contrast. Also you can paint the creens a little bit gray, you can find some paint mixes over the internet to get better screen contrast
Amazing job! I want to compliment you on your ingenuity and craftmanship! It is very impressive how you are able to envision a specific setup and then translate it into reality. Top notch engineering skills!
Thanks! And not losing hope. It would be nice if I could get few of these videos regarding my new setup going a bit larger (I think there would be potential since this is quite rare setup) but other than, this isn't a channel I expect to become large. Low tens of thousands subsribers seems a good guess for the potential.
Excellent job! Some years ago made my own projection screen using the diy maxxmudd paint formuler with silver added. It turned out amazing as I could use the screen in the daytime or with the lights on but obviously looked amazing in a dark room. When experimenting with the paint initially I had a light grey paint mix but settled on quite a dark grey mix. Thought it was too dark at first with the projector off but with the projector on everything looked perfect even the whites. The benefit of having the darker grey was that the blacks were even deeper and more "tv like", much better for space sims. The projector settings are just as important for fine tuning as I found I could tweak the advanced settings to get the blacks looking even better without crushing the dark details so well worth experimenting. Good luck man.
Looks amazing. Having been a flight sim nerd back in the 90s and only recently getting back into it, I could never have imagined we'd be here today. I have a pretty modest set up but loving the hobby so much I wonder which path I'll go down in the future. I'm using a cheap head tracker and really like it with a 4k screen, but I've also tried a friend vr which is incredibly emersive but lacks fidelity. I think I'll wait a few years to see where the tech goes before making a decision, but my feeling is that vr will be much much better in 10 years with good pass through to use a home cockpit.
Money well spent sir. So much healthier than many other ways to spend money. Brilliant work. The humor was spot on as well, oh and tue child labor…still haven’t decided if it ever is worth it work wise but, if it gets them into it and actually using tools as well, that sir is a true win in life.
Thanks. And I can see that builting this might not be for everyone. For me, it's not a question if it's worth the time since I enjoy the time building.
Man this is great. I do sim racing and flight sim. Maybe one day I will do the same after motion. If you enjoy it, who cares how much it cost. My wife approved of me building my sim setup that cost over 7k without motion or this bad ass screen setup.
Sir, absolutely well done and thank you for sharing the experience and build. As a space sim devotee, in my view if you can increase the size, great. Each to their own and again very well done.
this is beautiful! i would love a setup like this for my racing rig. seamless screen with no need for bezel hiders. yes please! i think the only issue i would have is not being able to have some ambient light without affecting the projectors color or clarity. but if you used maybe short throw projectors with ALR screens for them, you could have some overhead ambient light without messing with the picture. great job! props to you!
This is incredible brother! Well to be honest compare to most of the sim racing rig on other channel, $4k for this set up is a very good value. I’m jealous that I not practical like you. Well done
Great content! The room came up really nice! Hope that the air humidity does not affect the mdf. That should also be painted or sealed from behind. Waterglue+water spray is usually enough.
Very cool project and well done! Perhaps in a future version consider putting a single sheet of wood in the center, and two smaller panels on the side, then you have two seams but not in the center where you are spending all your time looking at.
Biri sana beceriksiz diyorsa kıskanıyordur. Kendi alanında elinden gelen tüm beceriyi kullanmışsın. Çok güzel. Çok beğendim ve harika buldum. Türkiye den selamlar.🤠 🙋♂️
That's awesome! In my setup, I had the Optoma short throws from 2015/6, but they weren't 4k lol. As for the bright overlap in the middle of the screen, there should be a setting that will adjust the brightness of the light there, but I can't say for sure. I only used Simpit Warp, but since both programs are basically similiar, it should be there... somewhere lol The paint, Black widow is dang good!
I think I managed to get the warping really spot on, then hit my head into a projector. Well, after few attempts, it doesn't take that long anymore. :D
@UndeadParrot lol, that happens! Especially when you also have crazed cats running around and throwing off the calibrations. I had found that a self leveling laser helps when calibrating.
Great Job sir. I noticed you have radiant heat behind the center stand. Hopefully over time, the heat doesn't distort the curvature or cause discoloration. If it becomes an issue, you may consider a mild heat shied. Cheers ~Mike
I feel like there are a lot worse things we could be doing with our money. It keeps me busy, and I enjoy it. I really like this build, and it is inspiring me to build a new one. Waiting to see more, and Happy New Year!
I love this so much! I'm more of a sim racer, but I think I'd be an instant flight convert if I had the skills to put something like this together. I'm actually surprised how seamlessly the projectors can blend together like that. It makes me wonder if Immersive display pro could be pushed even further -- like if someone was insane enough to try a 360 degree screen? (elevating cockpit)
Immersive Display pro should be able to do even a 360 dome. It's occasionally a bit of a pain to configure (and make sure you install the projectors into material that doesn't live like wood does though).
Well first congrats on this build again 🎉. Second, I stopped using TH-cam notifications 10 years ago as it ruined my notification panel but I have to inform you that I enable my notification for your chanel.
